Red Prime Steak Ratings and Reviews
Wife and I went to Red for our 1st wedding anniversary. It was amazing! They had a candle lit at our table, which was tucked away for our privacy. The service was fast and friendly and our waitress was more than accommodating. We could not have asked for a better night. Don’t get me started on the food! Best steak I’ve ever had.
Very good experience. I like that it is a little more quiet here than some restaurants. I could actually chat with my husband and hear him well. His steak was kind of a tough cut but they promptly rectified it and comped it on our bill. Kind of pricey but it was a fun night out!
Great place to celebrate special occasions or just have a fabulous dinner. Never disappointed and always leave very satisfied. Went here for our first official date and now every year for our wedding anniversary. Our favorite fancy steakhouse in OKC. Added the lobster tail upgrade this year and it was delightful!
Atmosphere is modern but the food left little to be desired. Very disappointing as I’ve dined here previously several years ago and it was amazing.
I will give them 5 stars for service as the server was friendly and took it upon himself to speak with the manager when he saw that we had an entire bread plate covered with fat from the braised short ribs and the manager removed the charge without us asking or even mentioning it.
My filet was good but a tad over done and the French onion soup was very salty.
I am sad to say I won’t be returning.
I have wanted to visit this restaurant for years, but the prices have always been a bit high for my modest teacher salary. For our ten year anniversary though, my wife and I made the trip. I mentioned in the OpenTable reservation that it was our anniversary and if any accommodations could be made it would be nice.
We were greeted exactly at our reservation time and taken to a private booth. Our waitress was very prompt with our drinks and was attentive throughout the night. The cocktails were well prepared, my sazerac was perfectly balanced and the wife's mule had a fantastic clarity of flavor throughout the beverage. We both opted for the Prix Fixe menu with filet, but selected different appetizers, sides and desserts so we could sample more of the menu. Simply put, everything was pretty dang good. I was worried about the tamale appetizer being too heavy, but it was very delicate. The tomato cream was just the perfect amount of acidity and richness to bring the dish together. The filet, with a garlic crust and brandy mushroom sauce, was divine. Not only was the cook a perfect medium-rare, but the flavors were intense without overwhelming the protein. The dessert, a clean trio of sorbet and fruit was a refreshing surprise. Picking off of my wife's plate, the chocolate cake with salted caramel was incredibly rich and decadent. If there was one fault of the meal, it was that the flash-fried spinach was slightly overseasoned.
Before bringing the check, our waitress surprised us with a few glasses of champagne and topped off an incredible night.
This restaurant provided one of the best meals in Oklahoma I have ever had. I would compare it to some of the dining experiences I have had in Seattle, Las Vegas, etc. While I know they are pricey, the experience warrants the cost as a similar meal in the previously mentioned cities would run almost double what we paid. I know that $150 for a dinner for 2 might seem extravagant, but in this case it is absolutely worth it.
My wife have eaten at Red Prime for our last four wedding anniversaries. We love the atmosphere, the food and the service. During our last visit the atmosphere and service were still excellent but my steak was less than average. I had the New York Strip. It was extremely fat and full of gristle. We will still continue to visit but was very disappointed in the quality of my steak.
If it was not fiscally irresponsible - I would literally eat there every day - Steaks are AMAZING - every side dish, salad etc is also AMAZING -
What they do is not an easy feat - We have eaten at all the OKC high end steakhouses... All are amazing - this one just happens to best them... yes, you pay for it but it's worth it. I wish birthdays and anniversaries were more frequent... def. a favorite spot with my herd now.
seriously - just go. You won't regret it
The service was excellent, as well as the food. Could very well be the best steak that I've ever had at a restaurant. The scallops were melt in your mouth tender. Making the reservations was too easy and when we arrived we were seated immediately. Great environment, easy to have a conversation with the person your with.
The restaurant was very unique inside. Very cozy and dark. Host are very nice and friendly. But unfortunately our waiter really sucked at his job and disappeared for long stents leaving our drinks empty for long periods of time. For the price it definitely was not worth it. You can go to Charlestons and get amazing steak and sides for half the price.
