The food was wonderful and the staff was very helpful. Will definitely go again. They have the best grits!
Visiting the area from Kansas City, MO, we had read about Red Pony(Southern Living) and wanted to dine there. Loved the restaurant...the food was excellent(shrimp and grits, scallops, guacamole, and gnocchi). We will definitely return.
We came here after a local Franklin recommendation from a friend who lives close to the area. I was a little concerned about the prices but it still looked like the best place. I can honestly say, it was by far THE BEST place I have eaten in a long time. They have some off the wall type of choices like Rabbit Stew, or Breaded Elk Chops but they also had a huge variety of appetizers. There was five of us and we had 4 apps, 3 meals and 2 desserts between the five of us and it was amazing. We also had water and 7 adult beverages and our tab, minus tip was $222 which I didn't feel was that bad considering the amount of food we consumed. We also got to sit upstairs, which is always cool and our waiter was also the upstairs bartender and we had a really great time. I highly recommend this place to anyone that wants really good food. If you would cheap first, good second, keep on going but you're missing out.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at The Red Pony Friday night! The staff has been prompted at taking care of the customer from start to finish. We first were seated at a small two top table downstairs where it was quite loud. We like to sit next to each other so that we can hear. Reagan made sure that we moved upstairs immediately and was so attentive to our every need. She was delightful to talk to and so sweet. Chris was our waiter for the evening and just as experienced as Reagan at taking care of us. He helped guide us through our dinner choices and we weren't disappointed! The Rabbit and Waffle appetizer was delicious! My husband ordered the Rockfish and I the Sea Bass and both were wonderful! We will definitely come back next time we visit Franklin!
Great and interesting selections, responsive service, pleasant ambiance, extensive albeit expensive wine list
Lamb chops were world class for sure. Service excellent, and chocolate soufflé clearly a labor of love.
Loved our meal at Red Pony! The lamb appetizer was mouth watering, and the beef tenderloin extraordinary. Great restaurant!
Great as always, the menu offers unusual choices like rabbit and wild boar and the service is fantastic.
The best lamb chops ever !!! The steak tarte excellent... shrimp and grits disappointing, broth like grits ... not such a good dish.
We enjoy dining on the upper level since it is quieter. The food was excellent, but we would recommend that there be a green salad added to the menu. Otherwise, we consider this to be one of the better place in Franklin for dining out.
Enjoyed the food and atmosphere really a fun place to eat!!
Marginal to poor service and a reduction in the quality since I was there a year ago with clients
This is our go-to restaurant for special occassions. Relatively quiet, interesting and constantly changing menu, and exceptional employees. We are always impressed.
Food was amazing. Service and staff was wonderful. Really glad we decided to to have dinner here.
Awesome food... Great service by our server Taylor.... Definitely coming back.
We have dined at The Red Pony many times but our most recent visit was by far the best. The food was amazing, especially the wedge salad.
The food was amazing as well as the service .
The Red Pony never fails to deliver
Everyone made you feel welcomed and staff was super friendly too. Specials items from the chef were great and wonderful touches.
We had a great experience. The bartender made us feel right a home while we waited for our table. Our server was awesome and the food well prepared and presented. Definitely worth a special night out. We will be baack
Love this place, but my food wasn’t very hot.
Amazing service and outstanding food! I had the scallops and my husband had the Branzino and both were delicious. We had the lobster bisque and the special app (Korean tacos) and those were amazing too! So so good.
Had a wonderful dinner! I believe our waiters name was Tim; he was fabulous, very knowledgeable and attentive. Highly recommend this place.
We originally intended to eat dinner but since we had a later reservation we decided to do appetizers and drinks instead. Our waiter seemed very attentive to his other tables yet didn't even ask us if we wanted drinks. So we drank water instead. Not sure if it was because we weren't going to be a huge tab but we definitely felt neglected by him. The bus boy on the other hand topped off our water glasses every few minutes to the point where it became annoying. Two of us had the grilled oysters which were completely lacking in seasoning especially salt. I also had the wedge salad and it was drowning in dressing.
Was not impressed with the food nor the service. I probably wouldn't go back.
Really wanted to love it but there are too many other restaurants around to warrant me giving them my business again.
Wonderful food. Excellent service.
Made a reservation for my anniversary as a surprise. The food and service were both amazing. The chef even sent out a sample of a goat cheese gnocchi dish to get our pallettes started.
My wife and I have dined at the Red Pony a number of times and we have never been disappointed. The food is exceptional and the service is always the best. The wait staff is very knowledgeable about the food preparations and have always made great recommendations. Already looking forward to our next meal there.
Red Pony has been my favorite restaurant for several years. Friday night that status was shaken. The Lobster Bisque was barely warm, but so spicy I could not eat it. The wedge salad dressing was pure acid with nothing to balance it. My throat was burning after a few bites. The Rabbit Pot Pie crust was a gooey, doughy mess. The Cheese garlic grits were not hot and the Risotto was sticky and there wasn't the slightest hint of blue cheese. The lamb chops were the only good plate on the entire table. The manager was very nice and adjusted our bill which we appreciated. It will be a while before I a will be willing to try it again.
Wish the “BLT” lobster ravioli was still on the menu!
Shrimp and Grits are delicious! The seasoning was nothing short of perfect!
We sat a table looking into the kitchen which was awesome. Your kitchen staff worked together effortlessly . We had the elk and pheasant as the main course both were cooked well. We had your taking of chicken and waffles with the rabbit. The candied bacon was a great compliment. The crime brûlée was very good, but the triple chocolate cheesecake with raspberry mousse was amazing. I don’t care for raspberries, but this was very good.
Super good food and great service. Constently delivers a great experience. Staff is friendly and they always have recommendations that are on target. Would highly recommend for any occasion.
The atmosphere, attentive staff and food were fantastic. Asking our waiter for suggestions because i don’t eat a lot of meat, he said the kitchen could absolutely make me a vegetarian dish that’s not on the menu. It was the best veggies I have ever eaten! All of the service staff was above par and I felt like I could have sat there all night! No rushing, such a comfortable experience. Have eaten at a lot of new Nashville restaurants and this beats them all out of the water. Hidden gem on Main Street!
Great experience all the way around from the moment I stepped in. Nice people, great food and very good service. I would definitely return.
Fantastic! They personalized the experience by printing a menu with Happy Birthday at the top. The exceptional service and attention to detail made my birthday dinner a very special occasion. Thank you to everyone at the Red Pony.
The elk was rubbery and tasteless and the pizza overdone and salty. Lamb chops, lobster bisque w/o visible lobster were good as were shrimp and grits and guacamole appetizer Chocolate birthday special was just fine for 5. Nice setting if a bit noisy for old folks with hearing loss.
It was my wife's birthbday and they printed the menu's with "Happy Birthday Heather" at the top. We brought our children (13 & 7) who enjoyed the meal as well. While it is not the normal place to bring children, Red Pony was very accomodating. Overall the price may deter some, but the food is excellent. This is our go-to spot for an evening out.
And... the waitstaff is excellent. We have had the pleasure of being served by a waiter (Tim) that we first met at another restaurant; all of the other waitstaff are like him, attentive and responsive.
Rachel was great. Great evening.
It was an excellent meal with very little to improve on. It lived up to my expectations.
First time at the Red Pony. It was highly recommended by our adult children. The food and service was excellent. We will certainly visit again and tell our friends and neighbors what a great restaurant this is.
