Great food and amazing service!
Red Pony is spot on every time!
Overall good. Oysters, Ceviche, and Caesar salad were not as good as we expected. Fish special was good and Cream Brulé was great. Liked the atmosphere.
This was my first time at the Red Pony, and I will definitely return. The basics; cleanliness, accessibility, presentation were all present. The food was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere achieved a very comfortable balance of class, and comfort. The most noteworthy part, in my opinion was the service. From the time of arrival, until departure there was nothing short of enthusiastic professionalism displayed by all of the staff. Our waitress was knowledgeable, engaging, and attentive. I absolutely recommend the Red Pony.
I love this place the food is good.the service was good. The drinks were good.i would go back to eat there
Delicious, especially the blue-cheese corn risotto with the beef. (sadly the beef was undercooked per order-- medium+ shouldn't be bloody in the center -- still pretty good though) Service was fantastic. $9 for kids' buttered noodles (literally about 15 noodles with butter) is kinda crazy, but glad they had it as an option. :-/
All else was great, and again -- awesome service.
Another fabulous meal at Red Pony. The special which was halibut was unbelievable . The service was the best.
Our waiter was outstanding, cannot wait to return!
Service was lousy and Caesar salad wasn’t a real Caesar - the ceviche was more like soup - don’t think we will go back
My wife and I went here before a show at Franklin Theatre across the street. We were late for our reservations (Nash traffic Ugh!) however they were very understanding and accommodating. Service was great. Food was terrific (Tuna tartare for a starter and scallops for main course were our faves). My wife really enjoyed her fruity little hand crafted cocktail and they had a nice selection of local beers for me. Would def recommend.
Always great dining experience at the Red Pony! Creative and quality prepared food. Great service.
The Red Pony is one of my favorite restaurants. I brought my 14 year old daughter this time for a daddy-daughter date night. It was early, so the restaurant wasn't too busy and was fairly quiet. The kitchen sent out some gnocchi as a gift for her first visit - which was a nice touch. She enjoyed fresh guacamole and sesame tuna for dinner. I had the cowboy sirloin (what I always get) but was very disappointed in it this time. It was overcooked, lacked any real flavor, was smothered in limp caramelized onions, and was just OK. Frankly I've done better on my grill with nothing more than a cheap cut of meat and 3 spices. The potatoes were some sort of au gratin variety with truffle oil, which definitely isn't my thing. They used to have baked, smashed, and fried potatoes which were excellent. For desert we had the Dirty Blonde brownie, which was good but there was no coconut cake. Our server said they're bringing it back in a few weeks. Last time I came here with family the desert selection was much more appealing and we had one of everything. This time the brownie was the only thing remotely compelling. The service was very prompt and polite, if not enthusiastic. Overall it was a nice experience, but lacked value based on the cost of the food as compared to the taste. It's definitely worth trying again though because the 4 prior times I've eaten at the Red Pony it has been worth every penny.
I had been to Red Pony once before while visiting Nashville. This time I took my wife to dinner for our anniversary. From the personalized menu for our special occasion, to the sample bites on-the-house, this meal was stellar. The chicken tagine was so rich and delectable that we made a promise to come back for it in the future. Service was at our side and they had a perfect manner. Every course was tasty. The executive chef signed our menu as a congratulations, which was pretty cool. I love that the chefs here in town are really taking the time to impress and make the diner feel valuable. The only thing I wish they had was more veggie type items that weren't cheese covered or buttered. But that's because I'm looking for something to pick on. This restaurant does it right.
The food and service were perfect!!! Could not have been happier.!!!!
Some of the music that was playing wasn't exactly conducive to a romantic dinner.
I ate at the Red Pony last year and it was one of the best dining experiences I have had since moving to TN from Palm Beach, Florida. I am not sure what happened but it has fallen pretty far. Not sure I will make it my special occasion place anymore. My husband ordered a steak medium well and it came rare. My scallops were cold and our friends didn't get half of the food they ordered. The waiter forgot my cocktail so I had to remind him. The waiter was nice and the manager apologetic but it was our shot at a nice evening out with friends. It took 90 minutes to get dinner so we didn't even have time for dessert before our show was going to start at the Franklin Theatre. Such a bummer as we were expecting an amazing meal. It happens I guess.
The menu changes seasonly which is nice if you are a frequent diner. The food is always incredible and the service is top notch! The noise level on Friday or Saturday night can be high. My most recent visit was a Thursday night date night, and the noise level was much better.
Everything about this dinner experience was "good".......but nothing was exceptional or particularly memorable. For the price, there are frankly more memorable options in and around Franklin -- with better food and overall experience. Our entire group thought that many of the dishes (and even cocktails) here just had "too much going on" --- with far too many extras in the preparation. The waitress needed scripted notes to describe each dish in length -- and informing us of the specials and preparation just took too long (due to the complex preparation of each dish and number of garnishes, etc.) . Service was efficient and friendly (though literally "scripted") -- and food and drinks were all good.
Red Pony is never a disappointment!!!! Great food and service!!!
Food was exquisite! Service was wonderful!
We brought friends who are used to fine dining in LA, and they commented this is the best food and service to match the top place in LA and Orange County. The creative dishes, the craft cocktails, the personal service. We met the chef as he came to our table to check on the food.
A can't miss for Franklin and beyond.
The Red Pony is one of the top restaurants in the downtown Franklin area. A reservation is a must . We went on a Wednesday evening at 7:15 and the place was not particularly busy as we were able to get a table of our choosing by the kitchen viewing window. The hostess was on the mark when she fixed the wobble in the table before we sat down. Thus eliminating a peeve of mine. My wife had the special, Grouper with vegetables, that looked good and she enjoyed . I had the scallops that were done to perfection. We enjoyed a well priced Amerone from an extensive wine list. The apple cake desert was balanced with a caramel covered spice cake on top of a baked apple, flavorful and light. In closing the service was perfect. We sat at a small table for two and our server staged the wine bottle off the table yet within sight of us to free up the intimate space. We have dined here before and will continue to come back.
Absolutely amazing service with better food and great wine recommendations.
The atmosphere was great. We were there for our 1st anniversary dinner. The staff was awesome. They were very detail oriented. When we arrived the menu had our names printed at the top. The food was Great.
The waiter was very informative and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was fantastic, all 4 courses. The restaurant itself is rather small, and a little loud, but overall it was a great date spot.
Had friends in town and took them here. I’ve been here before but this time we got the most wonderful server and the food was exquisite. With drinks and dinner for two, we at for under $100.
Excellent food, a little prciey but worth it. Service very good!!😀😀😀😆😆😀
The food was wonderful and the staff was very helpful. Will definitely go again. They have the best grits!
Visiting the area from Kansas City, MO, we had read about Red Pony(Southern Living) and wanted to dine there. Loved the restaurant...the food was excellent(shrimp and grits, scallops, guacamole, and gnocchi). We will definitely return.
We came here after a local Franklin recommendation from a friend who lives close to the area. I was a little concerned about the prices but it still looked like the best place. I can honestly say, it was by far THE BEST place I have eaten in a long time. They have some off the wall type of choices like Rabbit Stew, or Breaded Elk Chops but they also had a huge variety of appetizers. There was five of us and we had 4 apps, 3 meals and 2 desserts between the five of us and it was amazing. We also had water and 7 adult beverages and our tab, minus tip was $222 which I didn't feel was that bad considering the amount of food we consumed. We also got to sit upstairs, which is always cool and our waiter was also the upstairs bartender and we had a really great time. I highly recommend this place to anyone that wants really good food. If you would cheap first, good second, keep on going but you're missing out.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at The Red Pony Friday night! The staff has been prompted at taking care of the customer from start to finish. We first were seated at a small two top table downstairs where it was quite loud. We like to sit next to each other so that we can hear. Reagan made sure that we moved upstairs immediately and was so attentive to our every need. She was delightful to talk to and so sweet. Chris was our waiter for the evening and just as experienced as Reagan at taking care of us. He helped guide us through our dinner choices and we weren't disappointed! The Rabbit and Waffle appetizer was delicious! My husband ordered the Rockfish and I the Sea Bass and both were wonderful! We will definitely come back next time we visit Franklin!
Great and interesting selections, responsive service, pleasant ambiance, extensive albeit expensive wine list
I have eaten here before but this was the best meal I have had in a long time.
Lamb chops were world class for sure. Service excellent, and chocolate soufflé clearly a labor of love.
Amazing service food and atmosphere
Loved our meal at Red Pony! The lamb appetizer was mouth watering, and the beef tenderloin extraordinary. Great restaurant!
Great as always, the menu offers unusual choices like rabbit and wild boar and the service is fantastic.
The best lamb chops ever !!! The steak tarte excellent... shrimp and grits disappointing, broth like grits ... not such a good dish.
We enjoy dining on the upper level since it is quieter. The food was excellent, but we would recommend that there be a green salad added to the menu. Otherwise, we consider this to be one of the better place in Franklin for dining out.
Enjoyed the food and atmosphere really a fun place to eat!!
