Chef owned and operated, Red Pony changes its menu about six times a year with the intention of keeping ingredients the season’s freshest and the variety of dishes dynamic.
While a great deal of the menu pays homage to the Sophisticated Southern foods Chef Jason McConnell grew up on, you will also see a reflection of his travels, that drive his creativity.

The food at Red Pony is always good. Last night’s pheasant special, however, was truly exceptional. Perfectly prepared, it was the best dish I have ever had at Red Pony. Great, attentive service.

We sat at the upstairs bar and enjoyed an early evening dinner. The bar staff (Sarah and Heather) were excellent and had great recommendations for our meal and drinks. The Guacamole was top notch and the Pheasant Special unbelievably delicious. Trevor the GM and the hostess were very welcoming as well. We will be back on our next trip to Franklin.

Our party of 4 ordered the redfish, just okay- overcooked, salmon- tasty but very little salmon for the price, surf & turf okay, and a beef kabob- good but small. The crab bisque smelled very fishy and taste the same. Grilled romaine was overpowering with smoky flavor. Server was very knowledgeable and ambience was lovely. Disappointed in food, and quantity for value.

Amazing! One of the best restaurants in Franklin and the Tenderloin was the best thing I have ever eaten!! Not exagerating... the Beef Tenderloin was not only unique but a flavor bomb... not your usual Filet Migon. Everything else we ordered was delicious and culinary art :) Service was impeccable :) This was our first visit but definitely not our last!!

Not nearly the same quality as some other local higher end restaurants. Ambiance & Experience: Hosts seemed disheveled from the moment that we walked in. They sat us down and it took about 15 minutes before we were even seen (We had a reservation). The A/C had to be blowing at 60 degrees. We were very cold and uncomfortable the whole time. Service: The one saving grace was our waiter. He was very nice. I will say though, he had to help out in the bar, so we weren't waited on at quite the same level that you would expect. Food: When I say I've never eaten anything more salty than the Elk that I ordered, I mean it. Could I have sent it back? Sure. Did I? No. Maybe I'm too nice. Sure it's very gamey meat and will be saltier, but it shouldn't be THAT salty. Overall, not worth the money. Go to Cork & Cow or 1799 if you want to spend that much money on your food. We won't be back.

I’ve been going to the red pony for over 20 years, and I can honestly say I’ve never been disappointed. This is the first place we take all of our new friends that moved to town. The food is always great, and the staff super educated and attentive to detail highly recommend you check it out.

Made a Saturday 745 reservation on OpenTable only to have it mysteriously updated to 615 a few days later. Filet ordered medium rare was barely rare. Had a pool of bright red juices on top of a pool of Gorgonzola upon cutting. It was gross. Would have complained but was with clients so I chose not to make an issue of it.

Food was fantastic, the best shrimp and grits I have ever had, our waiter Alejandro did an awesome job explaining the menu. The only concern is that the place was very cold, the air conditioner was blowing directly to us and we we’re sitting in the upper part of the restaurant and it is not as cosy and decorated as the rest of the restaurant.

It was our first time dining here. The food we ordered was very good. We were seated upstairs and was very quiet but we also came when it first opened. We enjoyed a welcome Gnocchi being our first time here and it was very good.

The food was very good as was our server. While it is expensive it is not as crazy as a lot of nice restaurant around Franklin and Nashville. However my husband ordered a decaf coffee at the end of our meal and they charged 9$. It was not a latte or a French press or anything fancy just plan drip coffee. I'm happy to pay for fine dining but that was just asinine and put a sour note on the whole experience.

Thoughtful menus beautifully and deliciously executed. Grilled Romaine salad was smokey, crunchy and filled with Green Goddess goodness. Shrimp and grits was savory with a touch of lemon, the best you'll find anywhere! Pork chop was tender, tasty, and impressive on the plate. Hosts and wait staff were friendly and delightfully informative. The Red Pony is an excellent choice for dinner in downtown Franklin.

The food at Red Pony was phenomenal, and so was the service. My husband and I went for our anniversary dinner, and we loved it. Our only complaint is minor in that we were placed on a back bench that runs across the back of the restaurant and is shared by multiple tables. At the end of our meal, a large party was placed right next to us and another customer was placed at the end of the table beside us, and had their back facing our table in very close proximity, within 6 inches. We would have preferred a more private table. But we appreciated the complementary, celebratory side dish from the chef, and found the food to be amazing.

Such a great restaurant!!! It’s ALWAYS a treat to eat at The Red Pony! The beef tenderloin was “melt in your mouth” perfect, and the grilled caesar salad was amazing. It’s an expensive dinner - but for a special occasion ….it’s totally worth it!

I love this spot! It is a go to when folks come in from out of town. Great home town vibe but big city flavors and the mixologist is off the chart! Always something new and sure to please even finicky foodie friends! Recommend it highly!
