It was our wedding anniversary and we got married at the McConnell House 6 years, which was noted when I made the reservation. We were very excited. However, the hostess were not aware and we didn’t get a decent table, which was disappointing. We did get one free dessert. We spent nearly $200 on a meal that could’ve been really special….but honestly just wasn’t.
My teenager went for a nice homecoming dinner last night. She shared shrimp and grits, which she usually likes, but said it wasn’t good at all. Her date and another had the chicken dish which they said was marginal. I made the reservation for them because I wanted them to experience fine dining and enjoy the atmosphere and delicious food. I think we are all disappointed.
Food was delicious, service was amazing. Beat food I’ve had in Franklin since we moved back.
Scott was AMAZING. Great recommendations. The food, wine, service was top notch. Do yourself a favor and GO!
Loved the cheese burrata with the butternut squash amazing !
We made a last minute reservation and are so pleased we did! Service and food were outstanding! Their current (temporary) building is so cool, tables were well-spaced, and all staff wore masks. We felt very safe and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Highly recommend!
Jason out waiter was fantastic
Wonderful & the special dinners were great!
Literally the best meal we've had from a restaurant in years. Absolutely outstanding food, and great service.
Excellent!!!! Food & service outstanding!!! Heather was a fantastic, very informed & professional server!!!
This was a birthday dinner! Wonderful food and service!
Another fabulous dinner at RP
Lindsey was absolutely the best server I've ever had
She even showed me some of the special things that are a part of the old jail.
It was my wife's birthday and it was truly a special night.
Food was and is always the best.
Food was delicious. Temporary location is a southern gem, and glad we made the visit. Server a tad quirky, but we are in Nashville. Worth a trip for those visiting Middle TN
Amazing food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. On the pricier side of things but we’ll worth it. Would recommend for a date night or special occasion.
The new location is beautiful. The food was outstanding and the service was superb. We had a lovely, relaxing date night.
Watch yourself at the “temporary” red pony. They’ll push their specials on you, talk about a “center cut filet” that’s really a butter drenched hockey puck sized type thing that doesn’t taste like a filet and then $75 will show up on your bill for it after the fact with no advance warning. I have zero issues and enjoy paying up for a high quality steak a) when I have an inkling for what I’m getting into (the comparable “tenderloin” on the menu was ~$40 as a comparison which is about right for a restaurant in this range) and b) when it’s a high quality, well prepared steak not being hidden in sauce and butter soup. This situation reflected neither. Just be careful here because this is a questionable tactic that usually reflects management culture vs the otherwise earnest servers who are marching to their beat. The rest of the food was otherwise ok but not as good as it used to be in their original location. We will not be going back as other options in Nashville and Franklin are better now and more trustworthy. I really don’t like sharing these types of reviews but we just feel like this was a trust-breaking experience. We’re also sad because we used to really like this place.
Great food, great service.
Red pony is always outstanding! It’s important to understand that it is not cheap, but the value for your money is worth the extra price. We could not decide last night who ordered the best entree!
Temporary location is awesome, old historic house on Bridge Street off the beaten track,
First, Michelle was a wonderful waitress and made our evening special with great and friendly service.
Secondly, the food was superb. The only comment is that the chimichurri was over the too too spicy and garlicky. Having spent five weeks in Argentina and experiencing a variety of authentic chimichurri at many Parillas, I can only say that yours was not authentic and it detracted from the fine flavors from perfectly grilled lamb chops. I’d work on that a bit.
Great place - every visit is outstanding!
Our server was fantastic and fun.
Our food was perfect!
with the move to temporary location and some recent mixed reviews, I tempered my expectation but was pleasantly surprised with great food and service. The guacamole was as good as I've had in Nashville and tasted homemade. The shrimp and grits wasn't the standard take you've had multiple times before. Service was spot on and outstanding. We were seated near the bar and the noise level was a little higher than I would have like for dinner conversation. Other than that, I had a great dinner and will return again.
Server was awesome, food was great, haven’t been here in about four years, we went for our wedding anniversary And it did not disappoint.
The lamb chops were superb. Wish they had more fish offerings.
Far and away the best dining experience we’ve had in the middle Tennessee area. The food was outstanding!
Excellent experience and the temporary location worked out well. Fine food, ambiance and a great evening.
We enjoyed eating upstairs. Cydne was a fantastic server!!!
Dinner was amazing. We started with flat bread and then salmon and orange cream dessert. I had the midnight sun cocktail at it was delicious. The flat break was amazing the Sal was cooked perfectly. We will be back soon.
Love the new location! The food as always was superior. Truly a wonderful dining experience.
Our waiter was excellent. The food was delicious. I had the eggplant meatballs and they were Fabutique! The atmosphere was very pleasant.
Amazing server! Yummy wine and drinks! Food was good. Room was loud. Maybe need some fabric or sound absorbers. We will always be back. Local fav
Cocktails, food and service killed it. Do yourself a favor and go here. I had a combo of shrimp/grits and lamb chops that I will never do without again. Just 🙌make 🙌 the🙌reservation🙌and goooooooo
Awesome food and drinks! Great service. Roland was awesome! Will be back soon.
We were placed up stairs near a table of 5 men and 4 women, I believe. they were extremely loud and it made it hard for us to have a conversation. We all felt someone should have asked them to be a little quieter. I do believe they had too much to drink.
Absolutely incredible meal!! One of the best dinners we have ever had anywhere in any state! Service was impecable. Food presentation spectacular. Food flavor terrific. Entrees we had were the blue crab pasta special, Ribeye, Beef tenderloin, Shrimp n Grits. We dare say that the tenderloin was more flavorful than the ribeye. Both steaks were tender and could be cut with a fork. Blue crab special and the shrimp n grits were "to die for". Bread basket was very nice with a selection of warm breads and 2 spreads (one being truffle lima bean puree, which was out of this world believe it or not!). The grilled romaine was decent but not grilled enough for us. German chocolate cake dessert was OK. We loved the ambiance of the temporary restaurant location in the historic McConnell house. Highly, highly recommend this restaurant. The food is outstanding!
Food and service were top notch. Love the setting as well (even though it is temporary it is very nice). Would definitely dine there again!
Fabulous dinner. Love the temporary location!
Enjoyed all of our choices. We started with lamb chop apps, I had the shrimp and grits and my wife had the beef tenderloin. It was all very nicely seasoned and cooked well. Finished off with a great slice of german chocolate cake. It was very good and good value. We'll be back.
Beautiful restaurant, excellent and creative food, great wait staff. Our group found many great choices with our keto, vegetarian, and gluten free needs.
