Red Oak Kitchen
This place is consistently good with good service.
Asked for something special for a 40th birthday. It came out wrong but they fixed it.
Still too noisy where we couldn’t hear each other well but the rock shrimp was so amazing
The food was excellent and the service was wonderful. Very enjoyable
Upon being seated, our waitress took our drink and appetizer order. After a short time the appetizer was delivered to the table, but no cocktail. We were almost finished with our appetizer before the waitress came back and said they were out of olives for the martini my husband ordered and the staff had gone next door to sister restaurant to get some. Long period of time passed and she brought our martinis , mine with the lemon juice in it (I had asked for lemon twist) and my husband’s plain with no olives. She offered to remake mine and was still waiting on the olives. Much later she brought the drinks. Another with no olives again and mine done correctly. She said she had to make them herself and did we want her to go next door to get olives..... our dinner had already been delivered and we had begun to eat at that point. I believe they have real management problems. There had been major mistakes every time we have been to this restaurant.
Outstanding service and food! Will be back very soon!
We brought some friends from out of town to eat here for their first time. We have eaten here several times and have loved it but I’m ashamed that tonight’s service was their one and I promise Only time to try ROK. I made a reservations days in advance and then when we arrived we were told we would be on the patio. A cold front and harsh winds had come through and its in the low 50’s high 40’s. We were sat next to an exit and it was very cold even though we kept our jackets on. Then the hostess came by and propped the door open so that we were exposed to even colder wind than before and when we asked them to please close the door we were told No! We asked for the manager and when she arrived she informed us it was an emergency exit and had to stay open bc the latch sometimes gets caught and you have to pull a tab other wise to open it. This was unexpected bc it was so cold out you would figure they would have it closed since our table was literally at the door opening. Then we were told that the hostess had called to tell us that this would be the situation and that we must have agreed to it. I told her I made a reservation days ago and no one called me. She then proceeded to call me a lair and that her hostess had confirmed with Everyone. My husband showed her the call list from my phone that is listed on the reservation and that there was no call from the restaurant and she then says she will go ask the hostess. She NEVER came back to the table and after sitting with the door propped open and being cold for too long we closed it. After that she had a police officer come stand out there the rest of the night. We never once raised our voices or were rude just simply asked to have the door closed. After this experience we will be finding a new place for our nights out and will no longer suggest them to others. It’s a shame bc they had been such a great find here in Odessa.
I ordered a sweet tea and decided I wanted a soda. The server charged me for both beverages even though it was the same price. Wouldn’t have been nice to know prior I would be charged.
Food is amazing as always.
Great food and atmosphere. Portions were very large
This is the fourth time I have eaten at the Red Oak and it always has excellent service and food. I highly recommend it!
We go almost every Saturday for brunch. And literally every time they act shocked and unprepared when people walk in at 10:00 for their reservation. They are scrambling, still setting up, turning on music and always have a reason that you can’t dine outside. Other than that it’s always enjoyable.
Great food! Best in West Texas.
Food is good and service was very good. While the menu is not overly extensive, it should have something for everyone.
Always love this place! Feels like we are miles from Odessa.
Fantastic food and we really enjoyed the upstairs dining area. The cocktails are superb as well.
We really enjoyed our time there.
Had a very poor experience made reservations for 3 online when I got there at 8:30 they only had me down for two ordered a rotisserie chicken sandwich with chips it was bad service was bad I don’t recommend this place
If you're familiar with The Cork and Pig, imagine the same food quality and service at the Red Oak without the high level of noise. It was a perfect place for a quiet date.
Always Great! Our favorite spot in Odessa. And usually a little less crowded than it’s sister restaurant Cork & Pig.
First visit to Red Oak and it was a success. The wood smoke smell is light and inviting when you walk in. Terrific Happy Hour small plate menu at very reasonable prices. The Rock Shrimp and Deviled Eggs were very, very good. The service at our table was outstanding - efficient, attentive and friendly yet not overbearing. The entrees (salmon and pork chops) were plated beautifully and my guests reported back with "happy plates." My only criticism is of the prime rib. My cut was not very tender and was dry. But I've long ago learned not to spurn a restaurant over one dish. I'll be back to Red Oak and continue to travel down the menu. Well done, folks.
The food was delicious but we were disappointed at the sparce menu.
Our service was amazing and the food was excellent!!! We love Red Oak, it never disappoints!!! ❤️❤️
We really enjoyed our food, but the service was less than stellar. Our server disappeared after our food was delivered and we waited for at least 20 minutes to get our check. Coffee cup was filled once, and no one ever came back by to refill it again.
Our waiter, Patrick was friendly and very attentive. Thank you Patrick.
It was okay- overall food flavor was alright but my chicken came out lukewarm. The deviled eggs were excellent, and the beer was cold, May go back again for drinks or brunch but not dinner.
We met friends there and the service was spot on. Our server was Sonya. Did a fantastic job. I had the salmon and it was delicious.
Ariel, the head chef, gives amazing service. I’m not sure how a chef as amazing as him is in Odessa but I’m not complaining!!
The last few meals here, the temperature of the food has been off a bit. The food is delicious and I enjoy my dining experiences.
We went for brunch and thoroughly enjoyed sitting outside on the patio. Highly recommend the pork chop and green chilaquiles. My husband enjoyed the chicken and waffles - he did find the chicken (not the batter) to be a little salty. Latte with almond milk was really good. Our server was attentive and helpful.
We are regulars at this restaurant and love the atmosphere, the wait staff, and the food. Would absolutely recommend this restaurant for dinner.
Super cute restaurant!! I loved the trendy decor. It has indoor, outdoor, bar, and upstairs seating. We sat upstairs and it was super quiet and lovely. There was also a TV upstairs which my husband was excited about! The food was AMAZING! I had Mexican city enchiladas and my husband had a ribeye. Both were fantastic! We had banana cream pie for dessert and it was delicious! Our waitress was super friendly and did a great job without hovering. Highly recommend this place!
Prime rib too well done and they didn't have any MR. this meat should be cooked to rare then grilled to desired heat.
Nicer than most options in Midland/Odessa but still a little disappointing.
We were seated immediately. Interior is sort of industrial/loft. More upscale customers than in other Midland/Odessa restaurants.
Limited menu. Ordered a glass of white wine which was room temp at best. Ordered the Trio dip. No description at all on the menu as to what the 3 dips were so had to ask waitperson. Appetizer arrived but no appetizer plates, napkins or utensils. While dips were adequate, there was nothing exciting about them. There were not nearly enough chips on the dinner plate sized platter. Waitress was going to remove even though there was more than half of each dip left. We asked for more chips, which she brought. We had barely taken 3 bites of appetizer when entree's arrived. This is when we had to ask for silverware. I got the ahi tuna salad. tuna portion was good but salad was very small. More like a side salad and it was priced at $17. Daughter got French Dip, which she said was good. Pace of service needs to slow down a bit. We were finished in 20 minutes. Would have liked to linger longer. Would have gotten another glass of wine if entrée hadn't come so quickly after appetizer. Probably will not return.
Great time!!! Our waitress was new but extremely accommodating. Will go back often
We were celebrating Mother's Day. We were placed on the patio, against our wishes, which was too hot for my mom (who is 75 years old).
We have eaten here at least twice a month since it opened and we were terribly disappointed in the food and the service.
We will not be returning for a long time.
Third time we have enjoyed this restaurant. Well worth it every time. Food and service are great. We will be back!
I love Red Oak- Great atmosphere. Great food. Great service. Great drinks. One of the best in the Midland/Odessa area.
This place is awesome! I love the food, ambiance and service. Highly recommend
