Food and cocktails were not of the quality expected. Beautiful place but not worth the price. A signature margarita was improperly made. Food was surprisingly under my minimum acceptance.
Quality of food is very good, but “pricey” compared to other restaurants with similar quality. Margaritas are also more expensive than other restaurants, although at the bottom of the drink menu, they did offer a house Margarita which was ok.
Stopped in for a brunch with a friend.
Great food, service and the ambiance is quite nice. Always a great place for drinks too after work. I love the Ribeye steak as well as the tacos. The Sommelier was terrific and can suggest the perfect bottle of wine for you at request.
Amazing food and service! Loved Jose as our server as he was very attentive, knowledgeable of the menu and recommendations, bilingual so he was able to speak to my parents about menu questions...
definitely will be back because is his service and food!
Great food as always. Haven’t been for a while, glad I went again. Javier’s opened nearby. Red O is better.
The food was a little bland and small portions. Went for a working lunch and was shocked at the lunch prices
We often take business clients to RED O. The food, atmosphere, convenience to the office is fantastic.
Brunch with bottomless drinks was delicious. The service was fast, friendly, and attentive
Tonight the food was not good. The tuna tartare was so spicy very hard to eat. The special swordfish was very very ver done and dry. The service was good but food bad.
Second time I've been here ... first time chicken dish was dry, second time, same thing. Menu does not list all the ingredients - had guests w/spicy and vegan issues - needs to be explicit w/ingredients. Very pricey for lunch.
Went for NYE and it was more than I expected. So amazing. The service was outstanding. The ambiance is beautiful.
The place is very elegant and the food was delicious. Although, New Year’s Eve food special was overpriced for what I got pork chops and veggies. Food had great flavors and the service was phenomenal. My only complaint was paying almost $50 for pork chops and veggies.
We made a 5pm dinner reservation for NYE. The restaurant and bar was decorated very nicely - the service from the moment we stepped out of our car was impeccable. The servers were attentive and the food was incredible. Great experience for first time diners. Can’t wait to go back!
The hostess was sweet. Our server Galvan was outstanding. The food was pretty good, but not great. It’s a beautiful restaurant.
We went out with friends for a double date.
Red O is very date-worthy. A tad fancy. You can dress up a bit if you feel like it.
Although the food was delicious, it was pricy.
My portion of lobster in the Puerto Nuevo style entree was underwhelming in size, but yummy.
I would return for a special date and order a few sides, which looked amazing, instead of an entree.
Christmas Eve dinner
The service was very very slow and they did not seem to be that busy. It took at least 25 minutes to get our drink orders.
The ambiance is great! I met my sister there and when our food arrived, waiter cautioned about hot plate. He was right the plate was scorching hot, but the food was lukewarm. It was weird so I sent it back and assumed 30 seconds in a microwave. Not even close, they remade the dish and it took 14 minutes to do so and my sister was finished when mine arrived. Not cool
We did our Holiday dinner for our office last night. It was fantastic!!! The table set up was perfect - our waiter was wonderful and 10 out of 10 people loved the meal they chose!!!! Wonderful experience
Food delicious , host really nice , be back for shore
It was a great meal and our server Mariah was excellent!!!
RED O is a great place to meet, very convenient and the service is fantastic, great job and thank you for going above and beyond.
Red O presents w a great ambience. A nice spot for special occasion!
The main dishes in my opinion are more fushuon like approach; probably lacking the authenticity. However the dessert is tasty.l
Absolutely fantastic elevated Mexican food coupled with an absolutely beautiful location
Food and service was great. Will definitely return again
Recipes seems to have changed. Unfortunately for the worse. Goat cheese tamales, redO signature margarita too sweet, salsa tastes different and not as fresh. Etc etc
Good. Food was good. After we had finished eating we felt rushed as all the chips and salsas were immediately taken away while we were still talking. But as soon as the bill was paid the table was cleared. We did not say we were not finished but, it felt as if we had paid and were being rushed out. While we continued to sit there a while that was the last time anyone came to ask us if we needed anything. I debated heavily whether to go to Red O or Javier’s with my out of town guest. While the food and service was good while we were paying, I would probably choose Javier’s next time as I live in the neighborhood and am quite familiar with both.
Lovely place. Very relaxing. One of people dinning with me said the food at Red O is better than Javiar's.
Fantastic service and very good food in a nice, classy atmosphere. Our favorite high-end Mexican restaurant in San Diego.
I love this restaurant... It is my favorite restaurant in San Diego!
Food is very good however the portions are very small and the dishes are very expensive but quality.
The upscale setting is nice as is the ambience. The food was ...ordinary. We frequently eat Mexican food as well as making it at home, so this is not a reviewer with no experience. I had the lobster and shrimp enchiladas while my partner had carnitas tacos. Everything was okay, but for the price, I was expecting to be wowed.
Put some heaters outside so that people don't need to stand when they arrive at 4.45pm just before dinner
i was expecting better food quality, drinks are too expensive and poor on flavor and quality. dont see my self like a place that can't wait to come back!!!
Need to get better ( more friendly girls at welcome desk)
Beside that other people are very nice 🤗
Great Experience! Our Waiter was amazing. We got the Surf and Turf Tablita which was one of the best meals we have had in a really long time!
Beautiful restaurant with great service. Food was good but not outstanding. It’s pricy and parking was expensive.
