THREE times waiter had our final bill incorrect - finally said he got it right as he had his manager split our tab between the two cards. Not hard when couple just splits the tab - and then its wrong on top of that items incorrect on bill too. Now Monday morning both couples see we were charged entire bill each of us - no split. On phone fighting all day trying to reach manager. Why we tipped well I have no idea - mistake on our part. Soured us on whole place. The gift that keeps on giving we really don't need to spend our Monday trying to get service correct.
They were training a new server at our table but there was no problems with the service. Slight mix up on the bill as he printed the ticket before the meal was completed so desserts were left of but when charged came back with the desserts on the bill, so some confusion at first as to how the price went up from the initial bill.
Friend had the enchiladas which were very good. I had the carnitas but that was a little bland. The mix and match option seems pricey compared to just the standard single entrees considering the portion sizes.
Good food, super awesome wait staff, decent kid selections, we'll be back. The seafood relleno was just fantastic, as was my wife's lamb mole. Expensive a bit but worth it.
Food was delicious! Our server was incredible. We followed his recommendations on fish tacos and combo fajitas and they were incredible.
Birthday party. The loudness was great since we were with kids. It made us feel more comfortable.
Amazing experience, we will definitely be back again.
Normally their service is good but this time it was slow and indifferent. We waited a long time for everything. It would be understandable if they were busy, but they weren’t
Wonderful as alwsys
Had seafood platter for two. Very good.
I brought my fiancé to Red O for our 5 year anniversary because we loved the restaurant after coming for restaurant week and wanted to re-live the experience. We made reservations and decided to stop by early to hit up happy hour at the bar. We had some drinks and a delicious appetizer (Queso Fundido) while we enjoyed great live music. Then we checked in and were seated at a nice booth. The staff was amazing! Everyone was so nice, the food was delicious, and they made our anniversary dinner special. We ended up ordering way too much food but didn't regret a thing. We will definitely be coming back!!
Brunch was amazing!
The food was excellent but service was not very attentive and a little slow.
The waiter was straight up rude. Service was slow and terrible. The shrimp was the worst shrimp I’ve ever tasted. I don’t see this place lasting.
We had high hopes for this place! The ambiance and atmosphere are phenomenal. The Bar and patios are gorgeous. The space in general was lovely.
We got there around 8:30pm for dinner. It took forever to for a server to appear at our table. The place was about 30% full, so they weren’t in the weeds. Our yellowtail appetizer was delivered to our table 46 minutes of being seated. Our entrees came at minute 48. The server was nice enough to comp the yellowtail without us even asking, so that was lovely! The seafood poblano pepper was delicious!! The asparagus mushroom side dish was also very tasty. The portion size is definitely enough for two to share a side, an app, and one entree.
RedO was fine. With a few tweaks, I could see it being extraordinary.
Beautiful restaurant, wonderful service! The food was fantastic and this is a very nice restaurant. Even though it’s been open about a year, it feels and looks like it is brand new. Very nice people working there from the valet to the waitress. I would highly recommend this Restaurant to anyone looking for upscale Mexican cuisine.
The entire experience of this restaurant was incredible! The service, the food, the atmosphere was outstanding. I can't wait to return for another unforgettable experience. A feast of sensory perfection!
The food and the service was outstanding! There are always multiple items which sound great on the menu, and they consistently deliver.
Excellent service, good food, a little pricy but normal for UTC area.
The restaurant is beautiful with high ceilings and tables that are well spaced. THe food is very good but often accompanied with extremely hot sauce. I ordered a seafood chile relleno which was filled with shrimp and lobster and was excellent. I did not use the accompanying sauce which is served alongside of it because it was very, very hot (spicy). I also wished they served a tomatillo salsa instead of only the red one. My friends enjoyed their meals as well. The prices are a little high for what they give you.
Dining at Red-O is pricey and their food is average at best. Service is decent, but doesn't make up for the underwhelming food.
Amazing meal. Wonderful evening. Thank you!
The sea bass was amazing!
We had a good experience for Sunday brunch. Friendly waitress and staff.
She put out after I spent so much!
Ordered the enchilada(s) and carnita(s) entrees. Single enchilada had only a squash filling and bland tasting rice and bean sides. Carnita(s) was a single piece of pork with mild sauce. Waited twenty minutes for the simply warm food to arrive.
The food is delicious, a unique and creative twist on Mexican food. The wine list is populated by young wines, but is carefully chosen with notable value wines. The ambiance is great, but don't go there for a quiet conversation.
Delicious food and drinks! Beautiful restaurant. Can't beat the happy hour (at bar area only, until 7pm). Came on a Fri and there was live music (he was awesome! Great variety of music from different genres). Get the carnitas empanadas and house margarita. So good! We'll be back!
We enjoyed our lunch at Red-O. We dined out in the covered patio which was more casual and quieter than the main dining room . The food was delicious and the service was efficient without rushing us. It was a great start to a fun weekend in San Diego.
Casual work dinner - Crispy thin tortilla chips and fresh salsa were great to get us started. Definitely the fancy preparation of Mexican food. All of us were happy with our menu choice. Enchiladas and Chili Relleno received raves. Food presentation was beautiful. Gorgeous atmosphere with fancy chandeliers and bright calming hues. Music playing by the bar area was relaxing and not disturbing at all for the main dining area. Our team will be back to try the other menu options.
Ashley was our server in the bar. She was not very attentive and seem to have a sour attitude. When we did not like the wine options we tasted. She asked us whether we liked wine at all. We responded it was the particular selections.I do not see her is a good representative for the restaurant. Later for some reason Gia was sent to replace her, and was the total opposite – pleasant helpful and attentive
Overall the food was Just OK, underseasoned an unremarkable. Sadly RedO Did not live up to the reputation I was expecting, And with eight dollars for parking does not compel me to return. There are many other better options
If I had to choose one word, that word would be AWESOME...............
We had a great time celebrating Mother’s Day!
Brunch was Awesome 😀
My major complaint is that I called the restaurant to ensure that the Mother's Day Bruch would not be a fixed brunch menu only, but rather be able to order from their normal menu. We have family members that would not each very much, plus due to food options such as vegetarian and gluten free a typical fixed brunch results in paying significantly more than would be consumed. I was told yes we would be able to order from the menu and that they would not have a brunch buffet only.
Unfortunately when we arrived I was told they only had the brunch buffet and would not be operating the kitchen for other requests. While standing in line for the buffet I heard others asking the same thing. Apparently I was not the only one given incorrect information. I object to paying $49. when the individual only ate a small amount of salad. The result for 10 people a bill of over $700 if I had been told the correct information I would have gone elsewhere since there were other restaurants that were not doing a fixed brunch buffet and this would have resulted in a bill no more than half of what I paid.
Mother’s Day Brunch. Food was amazing, staff was exceptionally attentive and genuine. Even saw the manager helping out carrying a full tray of dishes back to kitchen with a smile!!
Huge vaulted ceilings, wide open space and doorways with this really cool tree in the center - almost has this tree of life feel lol. Anyways...already recommending this this place like crazy.
We had a wonderful brunch in celebration of Mothers. Great valet parking option.
Beautiful restaurant, more options the the normal Mexican dishes. Lamb, lobster, oysters, short rib enchiladas, beautifully prepared.
I love RedO. The short rib tacos are fab. Love the queso appetizer.
Had the taco salad for lunch. Don’t recommend at all. Bland, no cheese. They need to work on it.
We went in because we were given a coupon for bottomless drinks. There were no restrictions on the coupon except for the time frame and that we had to purchase an appetizer. At the end of the night they then told us we didn't choose the drinks that applied so we were charged for them despite it was their fault that it's not listed on the coupon. It all just seemed sleazy.
We came to Red O on Cinco de Mayo to celebrate. The ambiance was wonderful and scenic. We had great Cadillac Margaritas. The food was very good. I had the Filet with Mole sauce. It was an excellent steak cooked perfectly. The music and dancing were fun. We shall return!
Very good, high quality food, service was sufficient. Be ready to spend some money.
