Red Lobster - Williamsburg
Staffing issues led to slow service. There were no table setups when we were seated. When I asked for them I was told there were none and that they were washing silverware as fast as they could. Despite the difficulties our server was as attentive as he could be and was friendly. The manager was also waiting tables and making drinks. All in all, it wasn't the worst experience but far from the best. I hope the staffing issues improve.
Front of the house manager was not very accommodating to the open table priority seating. This location does not except priority seating on waiting list on Friday -Saturday which was not mentioned upon setting up. Will not go here again. Manager was rude and accused me of being selfish trying to understand when I drove 1.5 hours to meet my son who works on Naval base Norfolk.
Obviously they are short staffed but they are very concerned that delays are explained.
I don’t understand the priority seating policy.
It clearly doesn’t work.
If a customer can make an advanced notice that a table is needed at a specific time why can’t a table be waiting when one arrives.
Many people ahead of us were disappointed and left before their table was ready.
Even with our priority seating slot we still waited nearly 25 minutes to be seated.
There were errors in our order but they were corrected with apologies and quick actions.
No lettuce no salad no cocktail sauce
Great food, wonderful service and nice, quiet delightful ambience. There was a little "blip" at the beginning because the flatware was still being washed so the food came before the flatware and napkins, but our servers were so attentive and apologetic that we could only smile. Food, as always, was delicious and plentiful.
Very understaffed. (Of course this is a national issue). Staff did well considering the staffing issue even with people complaining about the wait. Before you complain, you should work a service or retail job for a few months.
Restaurant was definitely too cold. The lobsters might like that but us humans don’t. Food was good.
good food, service and value easy to find enjoy
It started bad with having to wait 15 minutes before anyone even spoke to us about getting a table and it was a manager. He was lost at the front desk. Finally got seated server was great, food was nothing special. Went to pay bill at table on the little game device and it was not our bill but the waiter got that fixed. Will not go there again.
Confusing for the priory seating, hostess didn’t appear friendly, waiter was awesome
Our waitress was the very best! She was delightful.
The hostess that treated us was not so good. Upon arrival she told us we would have a 45 min wait.
Now I know that they don’t take reservations but they do take priority seating. Don’t really understand the difference. And my husband has dementia and a 45 min wait is out of question due to his anxiety level in crowded area. Which brings me to the point that social distancing was not being done nor we reminders to the waiting patrons that masks were required.
For the above reasons we won’t head back to red lobster any time soon.
Only bright point was our waitress.
Very good service Food tasty Biscuits outstanding Lobster on "whimpy side" Doesn't look like TV ads...
Lobster promotion is a good value.
Manager of the restaurant made the rounds to all the tables to be sure all customers we pleased.
That was a very pleasant addition to a very nice meal.
Way to go Red Lobster!!
Great service and great food!
Crab legs were difficult to open.
Tools for the crab legs inadequate.
Over all though it was very enjoyable.
