Red Lobster - Spartanburg
Nothing super special but I’ll go back.

Not enough servers we waited 45 min to be seated due to under staff servers. Whole sections in the restaurant was empty I would guess 60% of the tables were empty. The food rolled out of the kitchen quick and there wasn’t much of an issue until you needed a refill or someone to wait your table. I do believe one of the cooks delivered my food to my table to help out.
I went on a Friday night at 7:30 expecting a wait and an average experience. I was pleasantly surprised that this particular evening there was NO wait. The surprises continued: our server was prompt and very attentive, salads and biscuits (which were hot and buttery) delivered quickly, and our entrees hot and flavorful. I had the Seafarer’s feast; the scallops were beautifully cooked and while the lobster tail was just a smidge overcooked it was delicious. My husband had a “build-your-own” platter with fried tilapia and coconut shrimp and literally inhaled it - he’s STILL talking about how good it was! I’m already looking forward to our next visit.
Didn’t get biscuits until halfway through dinner , ran out of drinks several times, didn’t get sauce for shrimp until after my shrimp was cold ..
Hostess horrible service pretty slow and scattered. Food was excellent
The shrimp in the pasta were small and transparent. The bread was weird, and barely had a flavor. The Long Island ice tea was watered down....
This place is horrible... the Host/Hostess staff have no idea how to calculate wait times, and "call-ahead" through Open Table doesn't matter to them.. we were told when we arrived it would only be 20 minutes.. we used the Open Table "call ahead" seating... noted, that it is not a "Reservation", but used to put you in line.. well that did not happen.. So if you are using Open Table to get in line, just know that it won't help you.. we may as well have not used it at all.. it still took over an hour to get seated.
Just as an example of how seating functioned, I saw the Hostess staff call a name, and someone peeked through the door to ask them to repeat the name.. even though it was CLOSE to theirs, but not their actual name, the hostess, in a rush, waved them to go ahead and come in and get seated.. About 15 minutes later, the actual party that should have been seated came in to check on their reservation, and the Hostess staff then scrambled to find them somewhere to sit.. and the Hostess that sat the wrong people didn't take responsibility or apologize.. just tried to pass the blame to someone/something else. The other party was out there waiting, but since they were only calling names from the hostess stand with their voices, and not using a speaker system, or peeking their heads outside to call names,no one heard.. I'm sure a lot of people were getting passed up or ignored completely. There seemed to be a lot of people who did not respond when their names were called.
This place really needs those buzzer things, and it also needs a hostess staff that knows how to do the job correctly. An HONEST estimate of our seating time would have also been nice, because we would have gone elsewhere.. Red Lobster isn't worth waiting over an hour for.. instead we got lied to. This place won't get my $$ again. I have never had this experience with a restaurant tied to Open Table.. Please Open Table, only do business with restaurants that ACTUALLY accept reservations!
