Red Lobster - Cary
Very little wait..food was well made came out hot.
Red Lobster would not honor Open Table's point redemption. Totally outrageous. I got my certificate off Open Tables website, made my reservation etc. Red Lobster did not have my reservation despite receiving a confirmation ans then would not accept my Reward
Had not been to a red lobster in years because we were not happy with the last experience. It was my husband’s birthday and he really wanted lobster so we gave it another try. Signed up for priority seating through open table a week before his birthday. When we arrived tonight we were told it would be 20-30 mins before we’d be seated. It ended up being 75 minutes. That is in no way someone demonstrating that we are a priority. We went up to the hostess a few times to see where we were on the list and were told 2 people were in front of us on 2 different instances. Many people in the waiting area were unhappy and had been waiting lengthy periods of time even with having priority seating or using the call ahead option, which people commented was labeled reservation. We heard the host staff tell dozens of people the wait was 15 minutes when that was clearly inaccurate.
There were many tables empty in the restaurant and wait staff were coming up to the host stand clearly ready for tables but there was disorganization when seating.
The company should not use open table or have an option to reserve a spot through their app if they cannot manage the flow of people. Also, they don’t even have a process whereby you can leave the restaurant to wait in your car. No pagers, no text, just have to stand there in a packed space waiting for them to call your name. Standing for 75 mins is unacceptable. There is clearly an issue with management. On a Saturday evening there should not be tables sitting with nobody seated at them for the entire length of our dinner while there was a waiting area full of people waiting to eat. They also need a lesson in estimating.
The only thing that saved the evening was our waiter who was extremely patient, apologetic, and did whatever he could to salvage what should have been a nice birthday dinner for my husband. He was awesome! The food was good. The experience on the front end of our visit was horrendous. We will not return.
So apparently RL doesn't take reservations during the weekend. Their website nor partner sites (ie OpenTable) doesn't reflect that so we made reservations for 6pm for a party of 6. When we arrived they said it would be a 45min wait... we questioned and the only thing they kept saying was they don't take reservations on the weekend. I kept referring back to their website and showed their manager. They said there was nothing they could do. In the end, we got a table at 6:55. The food was good, our server was great but the frontend experience gave us a sour taste.
Put name on the list ahead of time, checked in and sat down. Waited for a solid 45 minutes as front check in person went about calling everyone else’s names prior to ours. There were people who had walked in after us that were being taken right then, so I walked up to make sure name was on list. She said she was taking roll (because she was confused) and called my name, I said here she said ok have a seat I’m just calling roll. Then I sat down again and she called out my name saying “such and such isn’t here” and went to the next name until I said WAIT I’M STANDING RIGHT HERE!! and then she took us back. They weren’t using the robot callers as usual, and that was the dumbest idea because of the sheer volume of New Year’s Eve. Who doesn’t know restaurants are going to be busy that evening?! We vowed not to be back. Also my salad was drenched in dressing, I could only eat half of it.
Used the open table “call” ahead feature. When we got there we were told it would still be a 45 minute wait. The actual wait was only 25 minutes.
Despite using OpenTable to get on the "priority seating" list and arriving on-time, out wait was 45 minutes with a number of families arriving after us yet being seated first. A part of 2 should not be that hard to fit in... especially when we were eventually seated at a table for 6. The restaurant claimed it was endless shrimp week, and that the kitchen was never able to keep up with that: fair warning!
It is ridiculous that this is even available on Open Table. They don’t honor any reservations on here. They say they will add you to the waitlist even though that is NOT TRUE! When we arrived, there was a lady in front of us. They told her 40 mins for a table, they told me 30 minutes even though I reserved a spot on Open Table. But the hostess said that she could not control where the system adds someone. I decided to wait but then the lady that was in front of me was sat after about 20 minutes. WHAT? That doesn’t make any sense. I complained but they told me I still had to wait. I told them to take my name off the list and they did not even care. WHAT A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME!!!! Don’t go to this Red Lobster! They know nothing of hospitality. Never Again!!!
Food was great. Service was subpar. Server did not come back to ask emit refills were needed. A person in the party had to ask for Parmesan cheese three times before the right item was provided (was brought cheddar cheese and then Cajun seasoning).
Service and food were good. About what one would expect from a chain restaurant. Portion size was good. Food was delivered quickly after ordering.
Food took an extremely long time to arrive. We waited approximately an hour for our food. We never received an apology from the manager or even a table visit from the manager.
Food is consistent and good. Service was slow. Staff seemed disorganized even though it wasn't very busy while we were there. Still, nice place to dine.
Very good time would go back!
