I’ve been to Red Hat many time but this visit I brought along 3 friends who had never diner there. Service was attentive and the food was great. It was a wonderful dining experience.
The food at Red Hat never disappoints! The mussels were fabulous and the service excellent!
This was our first visit, and it is definitely a comebacker. The musseks, the pork chop, both excellent.
The menu was creative, the Key Lime pie outstanding.
And the view! Hudson River through and through.
Great location and interior decor. Food and service were both excellent!
Reservations were made and on the button we were escorted to a comfortable table with a view for all 3 of us. We were not rushed, yet there was an appropriate amount of attention given to us. Our food order arrived within a very acceptable time frame despite the crowd.
This was a girl's lunch, got to bring the husbands next time. Loved it !
Great food. Great service. Ended up sitting at bar and had dinner there. Couldn't have gone better.
We had a wonderful evening celebrating our wedding anniversary at Red Hat. Often hard to get a reservation, the rezzie gods shined down upon us and granted a lovely evening of delicious food, friendly service, and a fun atmosphere. The hostess made us feel welcome and the staff all knew it was a special occasion. Everyone was on the same page. The little extra bites, dessert wine, and anniversary note made it a perfect evening.
Didn't see a wine list if there was one. Thought the glasses of wine were rather skimpy for the price. Menu options were somewhat limited although I did enjoy what I ordered. Dessert was overpriced so we went elsewhere.
Red hat serves delicious fine dining dishes in a beautiful setting along the Hudson River!
I've heard a lot of great things about this restaurant and finally checked it out for lunch during restaurant week. During restaurant week all 3 course lunches at participating restaurants are $23.00, not including tax and tip. The food was AMAZING and there was so much left over I had to take it home! Also, I had such a gorgeous view of the Hudson River and my friend seated across from me had her back to the river but was still able to enjoy the view with the mirrors behind me! Brilliant idea!
Met an old friend there for Hudson Valley Restaurant week. We both really enjoyed our meals. HVRW is such a great deal. Will be going back with other friends when spring officially arrives! Cn't wait!
Fabulous restaurant! Fabulous food! Fabulous service!
We went for restaurant week… Red Hat ispopular and often difficult to get in with friends on Saturday night. The food was sublime, the service excellent and friendly, and the value of the meal was extraordinary! We will be back
Food was great. It was restaurant week and the restaurant served the same food and portions as usual unlike many of the restaurants that participate..
As always, beautiful view of the river and great atmosphere- CRAB CAKES :)
Always great food. Always so accommodating and friendly. Service is awesome, ambiance is hard to beat! Summer's outside and roof-top deck is fantastic! One of my favorites.
We go back with Red Hat to long ago when they were in "downtown" irvington but have not often been to new locale. Noise level can be bad but seated next to window overlooking river (perhaps because our anniversary?) helped. Lunch was disappointing. The special winter salad of brussell sprouts, mushrooms and etc. was great but the rillettes were almost tasteless. The swordfish in the tacos had off taste, we ate only half, and worried rest of day about possible illness. So not a great batting average and wonder if we'll we back...
Heard a lot a good reviews in the French Community, being a good value restaurant with amazing setting. We came for dinner... so we didn't enjoy the view on the river.
I was very disappointed by the quality of the food. The menu is a brasserie inspiration but the results don't meet expectations.
We go for lunch in order to get the daytime view of the Hudson. The food and service are as good as the view. Soups are terrific. This time the soup of the day was carrot/ginger. Perfectly spiced and creamy. The BEST fries!!!
Service and food was terrific, really makes for a wonderful evening when you want to enjoy dinner with that special person in your life
One of our favorite restaurants, especially when weather permits outside dining
Very accommodating as we brought out 3 year old and he had penned which was not on the menu. They brought it right away and kept him very happy. Beautiful view, great service!
Went to the Red Hat with my husband for a late lunch on a Tuesday. We selected the two-course lunch special which was a great value. The food was excellent, the dining room ambiance was warm, service was very good and the scenic view of the river completed our terrific dining experience.
Love this place. The food is amazing and the service is good. They even bring little finger food plates around while you're waiting. Recommend for a date or family gathering.
Fabulous Niçoise salad, great service and appropriate pricing.
It was my wife's birthday and we visited at 5 pm. The restaurant provided a small but nice birthday plate for her. Crabcake was delicious , and the hospitality of the staff was also excellent.
Had a lovely dinner at the Red Hat. The service was top notch and friendly. I had been here for lunch but never dinner. Interesting menu (sandwiches to salads to delicious steaks) and something for everyone. I'll certainly come back.
Love this place. Red Hat on the River has great food, wonderful service, and nice ambience with great views of the Hudson River. From their property, you can see the skyline of NYC and the Tappan Zee Bridge.
We live on Long Island. We try to get to Red Hat as often as we can. Almost any excuse will do ,restaurant week, winter special, summer specials outside along the Hudson. They never have disappointed us.
Very bad food.... cold soup - cold enteree. Worst food.
loved the arugula butternut squash salad ......great for lunch with old friends or new friends.....or anyone you're trying to get to know and have a nice experience with.
Great menu, food and view (location). Dined here several times and never disappointed
We had a lovely and festive anniversary dinner. Two couples: same wedding anniversary date!
I was disappointed that we could not get a table on the ground level, even though I had made the request well in advance, and there were several empty tables when we arrived.
it was ok! I feel that the food was a little overpriced (a cuban sandwich is $21 as well for a simlpe burger) I went with my mom and daughter and we sat by a corner wich I felt because we had a child.. would I go again?? maybe in the summer! We do have money left over in out gift card so you know you cant let that go to waste..
Great food, great service, and great views!
Triple crown, Baby!!!
The salmon dish was very nicely prepared--sauces are really special. Nice touch of tiny cookie/chocolate at the end of meal. Cocktails are always good. Lots of special food requests-- Not one mistake. Totally pleasant experience.
Still beautifully situated, still has a caring and responsive staff, but the food has really become mediocre and confused; wine by the glass had been opened way too long...would have sent mine back but had already sent back another, so just let it go. Disappointing.
There's no place better than the patio of the Red Hat on a beautiful fall evening. The service was appropriately paced and we enjoyed the sunset along with the food. The seasonal specials, especially the sweet corn soup, were excellent.
food was as always very good--the shrimp roll was great!
Outside seating, beautiful view of Hudson River. Food was not great- cod was dry, strip steak overcooked.
