Nestled on the waterfront in Irvington, New York, Red Hat on the River is an American modern bistro serving satisfied diners since 2003. There's hardly a seat in the house that does not offer a spectacular view of the Hudson river. Banquettes and a pewter bar accent the space while the walls of this 100-year old renovated factory building are adorned with WPA-era art evoking a feeling of a turn of the century Parisian bistro. Evolving from a humble bistro on main street to a bustling restaurant on the river with a rooftop bar, Red Hat's commitment to providing the very best experience for their guests has always remained the same. Try the classic menu standards of steak frites, moules frites, country terrine, and the Red Hat burger. Seasonal salads, sandwiches, and seafood entrees round out the menu. The bar offerings of creative craft cocktails, local draft beer, and old world style wines complete the experience. Private events range from corporate dinners to weddings.

Nothing to add. Food was good, but poor service, loud noise, inexperienced and disagreeable servers! Definitely not worth the drive from Manhattan!

As always the ambience of Red Hat is likely the primary reason one goes there. The view was exquisite last night. The service was a bit off. We didn’t receive bread as did all others. We table was a bit wobbly and wasn’t corrected after a few attempts to fix it. The food is always good. However they keep shrinking the menu and the prices are getting too high for what you get. Scallops for $52? A hamburger for $27? All the starters were in the mid $20 area. An espresso $10? The only value on the menu were the drinks.
