Red Ginger Dim Sum and Tapas
Amazing food. Way too many good options to choose from. Ended up getting five different plates for a party of two, and ate them all. Highly highly recommend the Shanghai dumplings!
Eat there (at least) 1x each month - still our favorite Asheville restaurant (glad Foon Zao / chicken feet back on the menu...even if only on weekends).
We were under-whelmed with new chicken steamed bun but that’s ok (was worth trying)!
Got told the Dim Sum Chef left earlier in the year and took the pineapple pork bun recipe with. No more pineapple pork buns.
Food was decent but not fantastic. Some of the dumplings were a little bland. Good service and good ambiance overall. I'd be willing to give it another shot, however.
Ribs were minimal. Gray with very little taste. I’m the past, they have been delicious. Szechwan dumplings were fabulous. Wish there were other dumplings filled with soup
Great place for lunch - Bento Box was a great variety of dishes and all were excellent.
Always have great food but it was very busy and very noisy !
Not Curate but a good meal at a reasonable price. Reservation was easy to get.
The dessert sesame balls were outstanding! And overall selection great!!
We shared eight dishes - both dim sum and tapas. All were prepared very well and tasted incredible. Plus, the menu items were reasonably priced. Can't wait to go back!
Great service with very personable recommendations. Wide variety of dishes.
Delightful Sunday afternoon fun dining. Food is outstanding especially soft/shell crab. Delicious sauce. Knowledgeable waiter very helpful. Enjoyed sharing and using chopsticks. Great people watching.
Really enjoyed red Ginger dim-sum today
we had vegans, vegetarians and meat-eaters at our table and everyone was very happy. Food was flavorful, fresh, not too salty and very nicely presented. Will be back!
Delicious! Get the SHU mai.
Took some out of town guests on a very busy night as Asheville was packed with holiday visitors. We made a reservation and were treated courteously and seated in time. Waitress was upbeat and efficient. Food is always great and affordable. One of our favorite eateries in Asheville. I travelled on business for 20 years in China and HK....and this is my favorite Asian restaurant in the area.
We were seated quickly (had reservations). Had a nice seat at the back of the restaurant overlooking the back parking area but it was a pleasant view with the people and vehicles coming and going. Our waiter was very nice and helped with food suggestions. There were three of us and we were pretty hungry so ordered nine items and we were full at the end of the meal. Everything was delicious! We would eat here again and highly recommend it.
My grandson and granddaughter are in love with Dim sum and we took them here and the service and the food was outstanding. They loved it so much that we took their mom back their with them 2 days later. I highly recommend Red Ginger Dim Sum!!!!
Great food! Expertly prepared dishes that are authentic and delicious. String beans are beyond good as are the Sczechuan dumplings and yellowtail tuna with jalapeños slices. Good to go with friends and share lots of different tastes.
Amazing! We ate there twice!
Wonderful food and great service. Our reserved table was waiting for us when we arrived.
The portions were small and the food was just ok. Server Allie was nice
A pleasure as always. The amazing lobster roll is terrific.
Food was not too bad, very busy, no Japanese beer on the menu. Felt rushed to turn table. Was looking for a bit slower experience.
As always, the food was delicious! The garlic green beans, the honey roasted pork, the chicken lettuce wraps… All divine.
We enjoyed our dinner outside on a warm summer night. The food was good but not great. Every dish we ordered was tasty but nothing popped. My ginger mojito was delicious and the fresh mint was refreshing. Our server was good- checking in and never intrusive. We enjoyed our meal and if we were not in Asheville where the options are excellent we might have ranked it better.
Grabbed lunch on the way to the airport to pick up family. As always, Red Ginger was excellent, server (who was also the bartender) was excellent. It is one of the BEST restaurants in Asheville without question. It may very well be the BEST. I hope they keep doing what they’ve been doing since they opened.
Excellent! Visiting Asheville and went 3 nights in a row! Soup dumplings and sushi!
Enjoyed the food. Everything cooked fresh. But most of the dishes we ordered needed more seasoning. Would still recommend
Our waiter was rude and acted as though serving us was an inconvenience after we chose to not order drinks. Food was average at best.
This used to be my favorite restaurant in Asheville. Unfortunately they have recently switched bun vendors and have had to remove some of their best plates from the menu which is sad.
Love this restaurant!
We went there when it first opened and it wasn’t all that wonderful of an experience, but this visit things are much better. The food was very good and our server was excellent.
However, I lived in Both Manhattan and S.F., and the prices of the dim sum at Red Dragon are way too high.
I think your experience here is a hit or miss determined by who your server is. This was my second visit and I brought two friends who had never experienced Red Ginger before. Our waiter was less than impressive helping us decide what we wanted to select. My first experience here was 100% different. Our server started out our experience by asking if we have ever dined here before. She then went down the menu explaining all of our options and making recommendations based off of popular selections and her most favorite. The second visit, again was completely different, our server seemed to not care if we had never been there before and just wanted us to make our order. I did my best to explain to my friends what I remembered to help them make their selections. If I do decide to come here again I will make it a point to have my server explain everything.
It was my daughter’s 17th birthday and we had dinner. She loved it. The food was amazing. Our favorites were the potstickers and the pork dumplings. The salt and pepper prawns were good, but the dumplings and the bao buns were better. Our server was excellent, and our table had a fun view of the street below us. I would go back if we lived in the area.
(First time at dim sum)
BBQ Pork Bun
Pork Dumpling SS
Yakitori - Chicken
Everything was great and I mean everything. Don’t overthink eating Din Sum because you’re in Asheville and you feel like you need to be at a brewery or southern cafe. You will walk away happy and with just enough room to hit up desert at a trendy spot in the square.
Red Ginger was excellent! My wife and I can’t wait to go back.
Excellent Dim Sum. I haven’t had good Dim Sum in the states. Reminded me of My time in Hong Kong. Next time I’m in Asheville I will definitely go again!
Great, authentic Asian cuisine, and very reasonable!
Great spot for Dim Sum and Asian Styled Tapas.
Loved loved loved!! Pork shanghai style dumplings were amazing ! A must when you would go to this restaurant!
