Red Door Woodfired Grill - Overland Park
Very edgy server. Realized it was holiday weekend but really??
Food chewy , not tender. Steak and chicken
Good salad and veggies. Not very organized
Food was excellent...best chicken and waffles I’ve had.
Great as always
Overall, we really enjoyed our first visit and were so glad we chose to try Red Door today for our Father’s Day brunch.
Service was friendly, accurate, responsive. Our food was pretty (at least over 30+ min) slow coming out to the table. FYI we had only a party of 5 including three basic breakfast type orders, and one salad. We weren’t in any rush and were enjoying conversation but it would have excessive if a more time-sensitive visit.
Food all tasted great. Bacon served with breakfast orders was insanely delicious. Breakfast potatoes nicely seasoned. Caesar salad tasted great with flavorful chicken, maybe just a tad heavy on dressing. The one steak ordered at the table unfortunately came out more medium-well than medium-rare as ordered, but the person who ordered was hungry and went with it, vs waiting out a redo.
We will give this place another shot for sure based on the warm service and the food we tried. Hoping the hiccups we encountered were probably with it being busy for Father’s Day.
Ate there last on a busy Saturday night. Had the calamari appetizer, which is outstanding. Big, meaty chunks of tender squid, very lightly breaded, with just right cocktail sauce. Then had the grilled prime rib, which is the weekend special. Comes with a very tasty iceberg wedge salad and garlic mashed potatoes, which were perfect as well. The prime rib was a little disappointing to me, because I did not know what to expect. I ordered the meat "medium rare", which usually means very pink in prime rib. This cut had been wood grilled after baking (as advertised), turning it into a thin, boneless ribeye steak that was close to well done. Tasted fine, just not like medium rare prime rib. Service was great. I'll for sure be back, just not to have the prime rib.
Great food and hopping place. A little too loud to have conversation sometimes.
We were seated in an area where a large party was being seated. It was very noisy and they were all standing around in groups. Made it very uncomfortable to have a private conversation, etc. Food was awesome and service was great, especially since he offered to get us moved to a table outside once we finished eating. Overall we had a good experience, just recommend not having surrounding private tables in the area of large party.
Service was very uncomfortable, with the server not coming for long periods of time then all of the sudden coming to the table every few minutes. Food was not quite worth the price but decent food. Overall decent experience. Would go back but not often
We dined outside. It was a beautiful evening. It is quieter outside. The service was exceptional and the food was very good.
We have been there several times. Service is never fantastic but usually decent. This last time was a much worse experience for us. We were seated at a very long table outside with people at the other end, which I was okay with at first, but things went downhill from there. They were out of their usual veggie burgers. I could barely hear the waiter talk and he wasn't real prompt. Sometimes he would just come over and stand there. There was a large table next to us where diners kept arriving during the course of our meal. That was not a problem either, until a few showed up and sat at the end of the table (next to ours), basically blocking us in. I didn't realize the prices of the Monday night burgers, as well as the fries, had gone up, and the size of the fries has shrunk. I placed an order to bring home to my husband, and he asked if we gave him our leftover fries. That's how small the order was. All of these issues combined left us feeling like we wasted our evening. IF I ever go back to Red Door, it will probably be to the one on Roe.
Went for a Birthday! It was good!!
The acoustics at this location were not to our liking, as it was so noisy we couldn't hear each other just across the table from each other. We had made reservations, and were still seated at a weird table that was one person wide on one side and 2 people wide on the other. Also it's right by the bar, so without choosing to sit in the bar, you pretty much are. Waiter seemed a little arrogant, but was efficient. Food was good, but for my burger I was asked the level of pink I wanted, & with "no pink" they put down Well Done, when I wanted Med. Well. At first we thought we might want to sit on the patio next time, but then noticed most of the tables are long tables with bench seats and you'd be seated with other groups. Not our kind of place.
Jalapeno chicken is excellent as is the jalapeno dipping sauce.
We all love the Red Door restaurants. I believe he do prefer the one located in Brookside but overall had a great time in the Overland Park location. Actually, this was our first time at this restaurant. We are looking forward to the new Red Door opening in Lenexa as that is where we live.
Food was great.
Very uncomfortable seats.
Hostess was inappropriately dressed.
Great selection, but not entirely delivered as ordered.
Great atmosphere and food. Moscow miles are the best!
My husband and I eat here several times a month! Especially Monday's for the $5 burger. We like the atmosphere and the staff are all so welcoming.
Sarah was fantastic! She was very thorough and attentive. Knowledgeable and well-expressed.
We love the food at Red Door Grill! Thankful to have a food option in southeren Johnson County.
Honestly it was the best dining experience we have had for a long time. The food was phenomenal, our server was fantastic and the host staff was super accommodating. We will definitely be back.
The whiskey soaked prime rib I had was mostly grisly and fatty. Couldn’t eat it. My husbands was just okay.
We always enjoy The Red Door. Flat breads are excellent. Was sorry to hear they took the Tater Tots off the menu. Bring them back please!!
Good place to eat and have a few drinks. Good happy hour.
The food at Red Door is consistently excellent! The $5 hamburgers on Monday are an excellent value, as well as being darned good! I dream about the fried chicken they only serve on Thursdays! It is the best fried chicken I had ever had!
Unfortunately, our service on this particular night was unusually slow. Our server just seemed rather confused the entire time we were there. I had to ask 3 times for water with lemon and when I finally got the water, there was no lemon. Fortunately, I go here often and know that the service is usually excellent.
Our server was very friendly and efficient, and the food was very good.
We tried chicken-it was delicious! The server was great!
Always great for happy hour. The flatbreads are excellent. So is the fried chicken.
Wonderful experience! New server (I forgot her name) was fantastic!!
I reserved a high top table 4 days in advance. These are the only tables that give you plenty of space and are the most comfortable. My reservation was for 5:30, when I showed up at 5:20 they had seated all the high top tables. This was completely unprofessional and invalidates any need to make reservations. We are frequent patrons but we usually sit at the bar- where we have EXCELLENT service. I was very frustrated and disappointed in their ability to meet the reserved request. The message they sent is that reservations are not held as important.
For the price, we were not impressed! Such a wonderful set up with the outdoor patio. But the service, wow! We waited about 15 minutes for someone to come by and get our drink orders. Then another 30 minutes for apps, and another 30 minutes for food. To top it off, we sat there waiting to pay for our check for over 25 minutes. A quick bite to eat outside turned into several hours of waiting. The food was not great, the burgers came out cold and were cooked way over done than we asked. The kids food was so burnt that she wouldn't eat it. And overall, the personality of the staff that evening was just awful. It seemed everyone was in a bad mood and didn't want to be there on a Monday evening.
We most likely won't be back, not for the price we paid and the service we got.
Delicious and perfect! In every way! We will be back for more!
We felt a little rushed to get through our meal, but it was Easter Sunday so we took that into consideration.
The chicken and waffles were better without the gravy, or perhaps it could have been served on the side instead of smothering the chicken and waffles. The biscuits were dry. Otherwise, the meal was great as usual. This is one of our go to places in South OP.
Always great service and food
First time there food was great pastrami sandwich was outstanding...
Food and service was good and consistent with our previous visits.
Birthday. Thank you for being there.
Excellent meal tonight. Tater tots are an amazing app. The Old School pizza is still one of my favorites.
Good food and good time but rather loud.
Excellent but you must know it is loud there
