Red Door Woodfired Grill - Liberty
Nice to have an upscale choice in Clay County. Great food and service.
My first trip to the new north location. Food was very good and served quickly. In fact, a little too quickly. I had taken bout 4 bites of my salad when my meal came. So maybe a little timing issue. I had the grilled salmon, served with mashed potatoes and sauteed spinach. My only complaint was that it was a little too noisy for a girl gathering (you know how we like to talk)! I will definitely be back to try more!
Food was cold but may have been from the draft. Service was a tad slow however with reservations we were able to pretty much get right in which was very nice. Noise was loud but with one large room of people without any barriers I guess that's to be expected.
First visit. Got right in. Server was friendly. Ordered chili with cornbread and there was only cornbread croutons on chili. When we asked, they said they would see if there was any cornbread from Thursday which there wasn’t but it was a Saturday so not sure we would have eaten it. Had to ask for salads more than once and never got drink. Disappointing compared to other Red door locations in past.
The food was great. The wait staff was amazing. Parking is a problem
Server was right in the middle of taking our order and verbally took our happy hour order then said she didn’t enter it fast enough so we couldn’t get it. Food came out cold very cold server gave false info on what I ordered then brought it out 35 minutes later than everyone else’s. Didn’t ask management to comp it didn’t apologize no nothing i was so disappointed
Great food and service. This was our second visit and look forward to more.
Great burgers, with "just grilled outdoors" smokiness. Restaurant was packed for burger night on Monday, but advance reservations got us in fairly quickly. Overall, a wonderful experience that we hope to repeat!
We’ve been here several times. The food is good but the Kitchen struggles getting the orders correct. They don’t check it before it leaves the kitchen.
It is a little crowded in there.
Our First visit to Red Door grill. My wife and I both ordered breakfast And the food looked awesome and had great flavor but was cold. We will probably try again to see if it was a bad day and make a decision at that time
Food was amazing! We will definitely be back
We have eaten at other Red Door locations and wanted to try the new Library location. It was a major disappointment.
1. No Riesling on wine list
2. Appetizer Coconut shrimp was very hard and over cooked
3. Ordered chicken tacos minus the pico, can’t have onions, came with pico. Cubed chicken in taco barely warm. Rice was bland with no seasoning flavor
4. Husband ordered Enchiladas, his feelings were the same, bland and no flavor.
My husband told the waitress about the shrimp she said she would mention it the cooks, when only one taco was eaten she asked me if I wanted a box I said no it had pico, she said she didn’t think the computer took it when she put it in so she yelled it to the cooks.
There was never an offer to make anything right. Clearly a waste of $60.00+
Lastly, I asked why this location had different drink and food menus the waitress said “he just likes to different things at different locations”. I wish we would’ve known this or guess we should’ve checked the menu online bc we certainly wouldn’t have driven 30 miles in the first place and it would’ve spared us the $$ and bad food.
Good experience but could have had better service from the kitchen. Ordered medium well steak and it came out medium. Sent back and they didn’t offer any apologies or a Mgr to come by to check on us afterwards to make sure all was okay. Also one of the two salads didn’t come out until right before the meal did and one of us got ours early and was done before the other salad arrived.
Still a new place, I would say the food will get better the longer it’s open. We will be back to try again just gonna give it some time.
Reservation process, though not during prime hours, worked well. Be sure to say you have a reservation upon arrival. Food was good but not great, based on price paid. Woodfired chicken was overcooked but well seasoned. The chicken wrap lacked chicken. Parking is terrible, but that will probably be rectified in the future. The house brand wines are very good. Beer selection is limited. Noise level is very high and the table options are not very intimate. Nice start, but lots of opportunity if feedback is taken to heart.
We will not be back. Steak was dry and not cooked correct. Shrimp pesto was nothing I could not make at home. Not a good overall experience
We have eaten at other Red Door’s in Town and this was by far the best Thursday chicken we have had ! Service was great too- worth the drive to North KC!
They have redeemed themselves. It was much better for a lunch during the week. Less crowded, less noisy, and my food selection the chicken enchiladas were delicious.
Food was delicious and served was great. Had to park across the street. Prices were a bit high.
Steak was ordered medium and it came out rare, also never offered another drink after first round of drinks.
Wonderful prime rib. Good service.
I gave this review a fair rating because the our reservation were at 5:15pm, and the restaurant was jammed packed. Our booth was so small and uncomfortable. I don't know who designed the seating area but I literally had to position my body in a weird way to get comfortable because the booth was so small. Also, are salads (wedge) took about 20 minutes to come to the table. And of course right after that our steaks came. I was expecting better flavor but was disappointed. I wouldn't recommend or plan on going back anytime soon at all.
The food was good. My fries were a tad bit cold.
Waitress was adorable and did an excellent job! Service was very fast! Husband and I had cocktails, appetizer and entrees and in and out of a packed house in 35 to 40 minutes. Well done staff!
Great place to eat delicious food.
Thank you for the stars. hope to see you again soon.
Food was bland. Will not go back with so many choices around the area.
Great service! Drinks were awesome! I loved the Harvest Sangria, it was like “Fall” in a glass. We only got appetizers so I can’t critique the food much other than the wings and mash were great. The Brussel sprouts were AMAZING!! Like melt in your mouth amazing! and the smell of the air in and out of the restaurant was just damn good. Overall, we will be returning.. like tomorrow!
The waitress was good but the food was horrible. The prime rib was tough as a boot. The mashed potatoes had whole uncooked lumps. They ran out of blue cheese dressing so I don’t know what they put on the wedge salad but it was disgusting. I’ve eaten at the one in Overland Park and it’s good. The Liberty location needs a lot of work, starting with the rude manager.
Chicken tenders were over cooked and bland but my chorizo mac n cheese was good. My husband liked his steak and mashed potatoes. I think it was overpriced for what it is, especially my meal. I'd try it again...maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. The service was great and the place was packed at 4:45, so make sure you make a reservation.
First let me say this was my second time there, I also had dinner there last week. Last week was great but this weekend was different . I am guessing a different crew in the kitchen? My salmon was okay, but the mashed potatoes that came with it though were quite bland. I know they were off because I had them last week too and they were really good then. My son had the chicken tender dinner and he wouldn't eat them, they were not good. I would of sent them back but I didn't taste them until right before we left. My husband had the prime rib and he said his was good. So do I recommend it? Everyone can have an off night so give it a try. Service was good and noise level is pretty high because they are busy. I am hoping things get better because it is nice to have a place like this close to home.
Coco - Thank you so much for taking the time and giving us some feedback about your last visit. We are thankful that you have dined with us before to know that your last experience is not at all our standard. However apologize we missed on this experience. First time for Brunch. Nice brunch food selection. Service was uneven. Portions of order was forgotten plus food was not prepare as requested. Server was very nice but struggling with either a cold or allergies. either way a sneezing or coughing server is always disconcerting. Pancakes truly were KC best, huge servings and biscuits and gravy was superb as well. No kids selections so ordered a la carte.
We enjoyed the brookside location so we will keep trying
The food was great. We sat in the bar area and had a reservation for 8:45. That was fine except that the server was very inexperienced. Probably growing pains for the business just opening.
This was the first time we had ate here and we were not impressed. Had a reservation and still had to wait. Then received our food and not just 1 of our meals had to be sent back but both. Then we got them back and the steak was still rare but the outside was charbroiled. Not what we expected for the amount we had to pay.
We went on a Monday night for burger night. We were seated promptly with our reservation. My son had a bacon cheeseburger and fries which he liked. My husband had the Cajun type pasta which he said was good. I had the #5 GBrett patty melt. It was very good but very messy. I would get the sauce on the side next time and ask for fewer onions. Having been here a few times now I would have to say the wait staff could use additional training. They seem to all have tunnel vision and for some reason cannot comprehend refilling drinks even water without being asked. If one person at the table asks for a refill, ask the others at the table if they would like one. Also if you drop the check off at the table and people are done eating, take their plate when you walk away. Easy common sense training could improve the staff greatly and make the dining experience much better. Burger night is really not a bargain unless you only order a plain burger, no fries and no drink.
Fun trying a new place. Food was good. Service was good. But it was pricey. $70 without a tip for 3 of us to eat “bar and grill food” with no alcoholic drinks.
I'm going to give it another try, but 2 of us had fish and chips. It was way more batter than fish. It looked overcooked. When I took away all of the batter, it was a small piece of fish. Another one got the chicken fingers. They did not look appetizing at all! They didn't even look like chicken fingers. They were way too done. I know I will not order fish and chips again
Open table asked if there was an occasion we were celebrating and no mention of the birthday...and no birthday dessert provided by the restaurant.
Rather disappointing outing if you want to know the truth
Love the food. Not a lot of sitting for families with small kids or large groups. Booth tables are pretty tight.
We tried brunch for the first time at Red Door. The breakfast burger was amazing with great flavor, and the beignets were yummy! The chicken and waffles were just okay, the waffle was good, the chicken and gravy were way under seasoned, but portion sizes were pretty big.
Took a while to be greeted at our table. Waitress was not very attentive. Food came out cold and had to be remade. Neat atmosphere but disappointed by the experience.
