Red Door Woodfired Grill - Leawood Ratings and Reviews
3rd time at the Red Door.
I had Chorizo Mac and Cheese with Chicken Tenders. For me this was 3 for 3. Fantastic.
Girlfriend was disappointed in her basil -vodka-sour drink, which she's had before but was mis-poured this time.
Her fish tacos were good, but the accompanying sides left something to be desired.
We were visiting with friends from out of town. Was very loud and hard to talk. We were at table where we could look into kitchen. has a small xmas tree next to our table and the one next to us. made it very hard to get in and out without knocking tree over. needs to be put in a different place.
We had to wait even though we had reservations. Hostess was not friendly at all but when we finally got seated our waitress was great. Place was way too crowded for us to enjoy our meal. Because of the loud noise level we could not enjoy any conversation. The food was very good but we probably won’t go back
Overall very nice meal. The calamari appetizer was bordering on inedible - rubbery and greasy. Luckily the pastrami sandwich, although overpriced, was excellent as well as the brussel sprouts. Was charged extra for the brussel sprouts - but was never informed of the upcharge. Wife’s pasta vas very good as well. Biggest disappointment was never having the waiter ask how things were or having a manager stop by to ask. I would have let them know about both the good and bad parts.
It's in a good location and nice atmosphere. I've used it for business lunches on several occasions. The menu is a nice mix of items that will meet most persons wants. I like the outdoor seating when the weather is cooperative. The staff is friendly, attentive and available when you need them. Thanks for a nice place to eat and do business.
We thoroughly enjoy this restaurant. Our server, Stephanie, was excellent considering she was also tending the bar. My favorite dish is the salmon salad and we usually order the pretzel bites with a yummy cheese sauce. Red Door has a large menu with plenty of choices to please everyone. We will return very soon.
WE have been to this restaurant before but this time it took so long to get our food. It took at least 45 minutes to get our meals and others around us received their meals before we did, even though they came in after us. While the waiter apologized a number of times, we never got any explanation of the delay and were not offered anything in compensation (like a free dessert, etc.)
Monday hamburgers are very good value and quality. Be sure to ask for catsup if you like that with your fries. Not provided unless you ask. The fried chicken special on Thursdays is also well worth trying....get the jalapeno sauce on the side and try it even if your are afraid of jalapenos--you will likely find it much better than you thought.
