   Food is meh & over priced. Would possibly go back for breakfast but lunch menu is small & not worth the $. Drinks water downed & too expensive. I really wanted to like this place as I loved the original Red Barrel, but it doesn’t have the same charm. Also very loud in there. And baked onion soup has sage or rosemary in it which is HORRIBLE, not a true baked French onion soup!

   I ordered the ribs . They looked like they were boiled then sauce was just over them. Expected something better. Sweet potato was good so we're the rolls. The waiter was very good. I would try the restaurant again and maybe try the hamburger.

   Well the THIRD time is a CHARM! First it was "The ORIGINAL Red Barrel" with EXCELLENT Ribs and a nice bar to relax and kids could have a LOOK at the Rabbits through a glass enclosed partion. Later this became the OUTSTANDING Polish Restaurant "SZALA'S" that had beautifuly hand crafted wood panels and a RUSTIC Polish Highlander Cuisine that was SCRUMPTIOUS! The bar was completely hand crafted in wood again and highly polished. It's gone now and for a while, people wondered WHAT will be here now? Never fear! "RED BARREL" is HERE !! Very comfortable and made for a NICE atmosphere! Service was EXCELLENT thanks to our Server, MIRIAM who walked us through our menu. She told us the "Red Barrel" was now an American, Italian and Mexican fare which turned me onto the ITALIAN. I had the 'Chicken Marsala" on a bed of Linguine. My Better Half had the "Almond Encrusted Salmon" Grilled with vegetable (Brussel Sprouts) VERY DELICIOUS along with a House Chardonnay and I had a DELCIOUS House Pinot Noir. Desert.....? HOME MADE CHOCLATE LAVA CAKE!! We're going back for a Friday night out. Miriam said Come and see and hear the Mariacchi Band they have. A little pricey, but then again the restaurant is seeking the business from Midway Airport as well as the OLD Sears warehouse which now has exibitors destined for McCormick Place. Still, they take care of ALL the locals. A very, VERY GOOD restaurant.

   I live close by and always pass it up. I drove passed a week ago and decided my family and I would look into dining there. After reading reviews I was persuaded. I am happy with the choice we made their popcorn shrimp, pork chops with Brussels sprouts, NY strip steak, ghost burger (caution really hot), drinks, and pecan bread pudding was amazing!! I am thinking of planning my birthday there!

   Presentation of food is visually appealing. The food taste great. I am bound to go back to order dishes other people at my table had with my wife. And the restaurant is very charming. It is very clean. And the wait staff is very kind and helpful and prompt.

   Have been to red barrel before recently and many years ago as a kid. Years ago they had great fried chicken and always asked for tables to sit by the windows to see the rabbits. Now they are upscale. My favorite is the porterhouse pork chop my wife loves the mahi mahi reminds her of Hawaii. Food and service always outstanding

   Service was AMAZING— from the moment we walked in to the point that we left. The folks at the hostess station were super friendly and our server met us at the table to introduce herself before we even sat down. All the food was delicious and cooked perfectly. Great steak, perfect asparagus, and the burgers looked good. We’ll definitely be back!

    This is a real gem in the neighborhood. The food was excellent. I am GF and the chef made me a few dishes from scratch. Lupe was amazing. Very friendly and efficient. Atmosphere was very warm and welcoming.
