Red Ash exceeded our expectations. Everything was phenomenal, from the food to the service. I will be back!
Food was fabulous as usual. Though the servers were nice and great, the service wasn’t up to par tonight. We were upstairs with the group servers. Everything felt delayed for too long. First time ever!
Excellent food and service!
Best food I’ve had in Austin - hands down. The gnocchi was incredible and the Frutti Di Mare dish was divine. The cream filled donuts are to die for!
Fabulous food. Great service. Loud, but able to hear conversations at the table.
Simply outstanding. Every time. Amazing!
Our favorite restaurant in Austin! Always great food and service. We always eat at Red Ash when we come to town.
Red Ash is a place that we dine whenever we can, we always have great service and the food is always amazing. This time I was extremely disappointed in our experience as we were seated so closely to the table next to us. I made these reservations a month in advance and to come in and be seated so close to someone that I can hear every word they’re saying and actually elbow the person next to me, that is completely unacceptable for a high-end restaurant like this.
Dinner was amazing as always. The country bread is a must have, as is any pasta dish.
One of the best meals I’ve had in my 3 years in Austin!
The food never disappoints. Good wine list and we love the ambiance and decor.
I made a reservation for late night dinner to celebrate my wife’s birthday, but we really wanted to eat much earlier, so we included our request in our reservation. Kim, the co-owner of the restaurant was so helpful and able to move the reservation earlier. When we arrived at the restaurant, many restaurant employee wished my wife a happy birthday and gave her a card signed by them. Our server, Zach was friendly and nice, and all foods and drinks we had were delicious!! We look forward to going back to Red Ash!
This was my 2nd visit to Red Ash. Love the vibe and the food is outstanding! Service was good but on this visit, I found the wait staff to be too pushy. We arrived about 10-15 before our scheduled reservation. This is a hot restaurant and not an easy reservation to get on a Saturday night. Since there was no room at the bar, they said they could seat us now at our table. We told the waitress we would like to just have a cocktail and visit a bit before we looked at ordering. We got our drinks within about 10 mins of ordering and from that point on, she seemed to be back at our table every 5 mins to see if we wanted to order. This is not a place you quickly get in and out of; it is meant for one to enjoy the ambiance, the great energy and the great food. And honestly, for the prices, that last thing I want is to feel like I'm being rushed just so the table can be turned. We still enjoyed ourselves, the food and the friends we were dining with and we will totally go back. But come on Red Ash.....don't push your staff to push the customers out the door.
Food was phenomenal. Service was even better.
Excellent as always!
Not only was the food delicious, but the service was just as awesome. Great experience!
My favorite restaurant in Austin! Food is amazing and service is great!
Omg! I have been here multiple times since they opened and the food is always on point. So fresh, delicious and great!
Red Ash was a great experience! We were seated in a booth by the bar and while the ambiance was good, it was still loud downstairs, especially for a Monday night. For starters we had the burrata (heavily recommended by our server), the meatballs, and the bread ($2.75/person.) The burrata was one of my favorites of the night, with large bits of salt on each crunch of the cheese. The meatballs were decent, with the star of that dish being the cheese and tomato sauce. The garlic bread was incredible! Huge chunks of perfectly toasted bread with a spread of garlic, butter, and herbs on top.
For our mains, my boyfriend and I did the family style of 2 main pasta dishes: the veal ravioli and the Bishop hat pasta. The bishops hat was yummy, but I would HIGHLY recommend the veal ravioli it was to die for. I wish I had only ordered that and the burrata all night.
All these, couples with a nice bottle of wine, made for a delicious evening. Would definitely return (if I can get a reservation!)
This was my second trip and we went to celebrate my son's birthday. As was true on our first visit, the service was REALLY GREAT--super professional with great attention to detail, but still friendly and the food was out of this world. Every dish had an extraordinary depth of flavor. We over-ordered and were thrilled to have food to take home for the next day.
It's a LITTLE loud, but more energetic and crazy. You don't have to yell at each other to have a conversation. We sat upstairs and I think it was a little bit quieter than the last time I was there and sat on the first floor near the bar.
Jake was our server and he was as FANTASTIC as Ian was on our first visit. SERIOUSLY commendable service. I LOVE this place.
Jared is the best waiter!! Red Ash is great for every occasion!
Great service and excellent food.
The food was just adequate - nothing very special. The beef that our waiter waxed poetically about was not cooked properly for a medium-rare piece of steak. The center was medium and a bit rubbery. The outside was rare. The octopus was a hit at the table. We all enjoyed it. Keeping in mind this is an Italian restaurant, the pasta dishes were just okay. They all were cooked properly, it's just that the sauces were average. We did order dessert. There were four of us so we ordered the donuts. The best thing about them was the blackberry sauce. The taste of the fried dough was okay. I don't believe we will be back the next time we visit Austin. There are plenty of other restaurants in the city. Too bad.
Everything was fantastic!
Best Italian food I have had in the US by far. Highly recommend. Very expensive but worth it.
The food and the service were excellent. An absolutely delicious evening.
Everything about our experience was fantastic. The food was amazing, staff & service, ambience, and pricing (during HH anyways). The only suggestion would be to open HH to all tables, not just bar seats
Red Ash delivers great food and service. But be aware that your Open Table reservation may get you a high top in the bar area, not a table in the main dining areas. If you don’t want to be seated in the bar area your have to also call and tell them your seating preferences.
Excellent small plates of fresh, original, artfully presented food! Nice smoky flavor but not overpowering. Busy, a bit noisy and our waiter seemed to have to juggle too many tables. Otherwise GREAT!!!
This was my first time at this restaurant while visiting Austin. The food was amazing! Great ambiance and staff. I can’t wait to go back!
Everything about our evening was perfect. Our server, Brandy was so knowledgeable and so much fun. Can’t wait to return!
Food is amazing. Steak was mouthwateringly delicious.
Red Ash is top notch Italian. We had a large group and tried a lot of dishes. Everyone loved the tomato Cayla rocked! The only thing I would improve is the noise level. It's hard to hear because of the accoustics. Otherwise, probably my new favorite restaurant in Austin.
Red Ash is loud and boisterous, and the portion sizes are ridiculous: the “small” plates are meal-sized, and so are the sides. After sharing a couple of appetizers and two sides we were too full to carry on, so we gave up and called it a night, which was a shame as some of the entrees looked really interesting. The cocktails we ordered were weird, so we switched to wine. Summary: good flavors, but wastefully large portion sizes and not much ambience.
You do pay for it, but Great food! Great service! Burrata is a must have. Great aged beef and the pastas are made in house and motive.
Went to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. Definitely will be coming back for date nights. Thanks Red Ash!
I am not sure what our waiters name was (he was from New York) and was one of the best waiters I have ever had! He was great and very knowledgeable of everything and recommended the perfect amount of food for 4
Fabulous experience! The service, food and staff all made for a very enjoyable evening with family!
Our server, Robert was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Did not feel rushed through our meal and the food was amazing.
The food was excellent, but I'm sorry to say that our waitress was rude and patronizing. I'll likely eat here again as long as I can get a different server.
