Too many people in restaurant too close together to feel comfortable during COVID.
Incredible service, great options for house speciality drinks and whisky/bourbon and Scotch offerings. The menu is impossible to choose from because everything is so good. The steak was cooked perfectly along with everything else.
We had a terrific dining experience once again. The bone-in filet was fabulous. Everything they served was just top notch.
Brandy was our waitress and she was phenomenal.
Attentive, knowledgeable and funny. We had a great time. A BIG thank you to the whe crew!
This was an anniversary dinner and was one of the most memorable . Our food , the service and ambiance were outstanding. Our waitress Brandy was very attentive and knowledgeable, and getting to meet and talk with John the chef/owner was an added bonus. Our favorite go to restaurant in Austin!
My favorite restaurant in Austin. Took our friends here and now it’s their favorite restaurant in Austin.
Food was great, but the service was pretty rough. We got one round of drinks and no refills of water. Could hardly get the waiter’s attention and he didn’t seem to care to help our table much. At the end, he rushed us off with the check without offering dessert. Very odd experience and expected more based on their reputation and prices. Will not be coming back or recommending.
Our second visit to Red Ash. Service is on point and food was delicious. We had a fabulous evening.
Red Ash Italia is always great. The food and ambience never dissapoints!
Hands-down the absolute best restaurant in Austin! Great atmosphere, food and service!!
I will say this . Through no fault of the restaurant there is a parking lot across the street with questionable signage that leads you to believe you can park there. They will boot your car the minute they see you walk in the restaurant and charge you $130 to take it off. When you call them about the boot they are 2 minutes away!🤔 This is criminal.
Server/bartenders were very informative and courteous and helped us thru menu selections. Every food and drink we got were great and their appetizers are of value and quite different from other Italian place in town. We would definitely be back in near future. It gets booked up fast and we see why.
Always great food and great service! Playes are so large that we brought back 3 times more then we ate!
Birthday celebration. Gina gave us excellent service. She also had great recommendations. Great food.
Fabulous as always! Our res was late which wasn't great w distancing. We managed to stay 6 feet! Amazing food and our server was top notch
It wasn’t as good as it used to be pre-covid. Food wasn’t that great, we went for an anniversary dinner and they served us in a 6 person table when we made the reservation for two.
We had the best time at Red Ash! Our server was so nice, the food was EXCELLENT (we had the crusty bread, swordfish special, and bishop hat pasta), the cocktails were great, and we couldn't pass up dessert. My husband loved his birthday dinner, we will definitely be coming back.
Such great flavors and awesome service
Pre-Covid this used to be our favorite restaurant. We booked Red Ash for every special occasion and recommended it as a must-try restaurant to guests and visitors. Unfortunately this is no longer the case, and we will no longer be coming here after last nights mediocre experience. We feel like we got the C-team of service, from front of the house to back of the house. And we feel really bad for saying so because we understand the restrictions must be hard on restaurants.
Here’s the breakdown of what went wrong: 1) I made a note on the reservation that it’s a birthday celebration one week in advance for a Tuesday night and requested our favorite table. They couldn’t make that happen and nobody called to inform me that this table would not available. 2) cocktails were bad and sent them back. Wine was good. 3) Server left us waiting for long periods during the evening and when he did show up his energy was dull. Made us feel like we were at a typical steak house. 4) Food was not what it used to be. The burrata and tomatoes came out cold, like it was straight from the refrigerator and with only one slice of bread. We had to order extra bread to finish it, which we then were charged for. The pasta was good, but nothing special. And the steak was cold and over salted. We really thought we made better food at home. At the end of the night we were told that dessert is gratis because it’s a birthday, but when we ordered a lemoncello our waiter told us that one doesn’t count. Okay, sure. We will pay for the lemoncello.
At the end of the night we were disappointed. It was our first date night since lockdowns and we paid $250 for a lackluster experience. We had put Red Ash at the top of our list for our rehearsal dinner but we no longer trust them to deliver a good experience. We hope this was just a one-off bad night and not the result of a change in management. They used to be so good!
First visit, sat at the bar. Bartenders were super nice, helpful and saved the evening. The Caesar salad was delicious but I thought the small plate dish with chopped meat and mushrooms was marginal at best and would not order it again. Tried the carpaccio which is one of my favorites and I thought it was very average. It had too much pepper, and there was little or no salad. Just not a very good rendition of a popular Italian dish.
Great food and great service
Good as always! Fav spot in Austin
Will definitely be back!
Food was amazing! A little too crowded considering COVID. Overall fantastic experience
We enjoyed the food and the warm and welcoming environment. The selection of the food was great. I am glad they were able to offer more than a typical Italian restaurant.
I have one recommendation for the chef. Please consider adding panna cotta to the list of the deserts.
Red Ash never ceases to impress...food is always outstanding...service perfect... my go to place with clients!
Great food and ambience
Favorite spot! A must try.
The food was amazing ! The salmon was particularly excellent!
Christian and bar team serving us were amazing. Food was awesome.
Red Ash was terrific. One of the best spots in Austin, second only perhaps to Barley & Swine!
All great, as always!
Awesome first experience. Loved our waiter/guide
Food was exceptional, service was wonderful. We ordered a little of everything on the menu and the server set up our experience to bring out the menu items at a certain order so the table wasn’t too crowded and our palates had a well rounded experience.
Our favorite restaurant in Austin. Absolutely incredible food—get the wood fired tomatoes and burrata—and amazing service. Thank you, Red Ash!
One of our favorite spots for Italian in Austin--we were celebrating a birthday and received wonderful service. Thank you!
New Year’s Eve
Red Ash was awesome!!! Go and don't think twice!!
Everything was amazing!! Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. The bar staff was superb and very skilled! Will be coming back again! Highly recommend
