Wood Fired hand crafted Italian food set in a rustic modern open space in the warehouse district in ATX. A wide range of specialty dishes created by Chef owner John Carver and his staff on a nightly basis. Our house made Pasta's, Fresh Seafood, and Prime Steaks are all prepared on wood fired grill, oven and plancha. An International wine list, specialty craft cocktails, and local brewed beers to choose from. Dolce and some Grappa, Amaro or Vino Dolce to add to your dining experience at Red Ash Italia.

Red Ash is the best restaurant in Austin, hands down. From the appetizers, big plates, shareable pastas, cocktails and wine list I cannot recommend it enough.

If I had to have one server for the rest of my life, it would be Jared. Homie made us feel at home and all of his recs were on point. Give the man a raise/promotion. He truly cares and values what he does and it shows in all his actions.

Plus food is always top tier.

Every time I go to Red Ash, it is an amazing experience. Our server, Jake was exceptional. The Burrata small plate, Frutti de Mare & Hot Chocolate Cake all made for a culinary experience unlike any other Italian restaurant in Austin. It's a great place to come with friends & share everything. I come here as often as I can!

Initially was sat at a table by the bar which seemed like it was bar seating. Now understand all the tables are considered regular tables regardless of where they are in the restaurant. However the ambience was awful. After waiting 3 months for the reservation, did expect something better. Asked for another table (busy Saturday night) and the manager was able to find a table upstairs. Much quieter and much more what we expected.

Kudos to the manager for accommodating us.

The service by Brandy was just impeccable. She was 100% knowledgeable about the food and it’s prep. All food is made on premises daily (except the bread, go figure). Loved that she was friendly without being overly friendly. Never at any point did we feel rushed. We had a wonderful pre-Valentine’s date dinner!

We certainly return at a future date. Our upstairs table request is already on file. :-)

We’ve been to Red Ash a number of times and just keep coming back for more. This occasion, we brought my mom to celebrate her recent retirement and it was (again) stellar across the board. Our server, Jared, was absolutely fantastic - a huge help in deciding between menu options as well as wine pairings and generally providing superb service. The cocktails were spot on, the food was delicious and the evening was a huge success. Kudos, Red Ash folks, you’ve done it again!

Overall, Red Ash was a great experience. That said, I don't feel that $26 - $30 for a bowl of pasta is worth it. Nor is the struggle to find a reservation. We had a late weeknight reservation that we had to book 5 weeks in advance. The service was stellar and we felt very taken care of, which was nice. I was a little confused why the tables upstairs had white linen table coverings, but the tables downstairs didn't have any linens. Left us feeling a little "less than."

Three of us were in town for the weekend after a brutal last 2 months at work. It was our getaway weekend. We had dinner late Friday night because it was the only time slot available (I booked almost a week before we arrived) and I’m so happy we did. There is definitely a reason this place is so busy. We started with some wine at the bar and shortly after moved to the table. We err promptly greeted by Zack. He is attentive, knowledgeable, charming and fun! Seriously, coming from three fine dining servers it is hard to come by service as quality as his. We started with the bone marrow, carpaccio, and clams. Yum! Then continued with scallops, osobucco and Piedmontese ravioli. It is honestly hard to chose a favorite as everything as prepared beautifully. We will definitely be making a return visit. Thank you for the amazing service, dishes and amibance. Cheers!

We had a great dining experience! The standouts were the squid appetizer and the fruta de mare pasta. The garlic bread and sweet potatoes were also outstanding. The broccolini had too much of a smoky flavor for my taste, but everything else was excellent start to finish!

We really liked sitting upstairs for dinner. Great up there! More light. Less noisy, great views of kitchen cooking. Great atmosphere up there. We enjoyed talking w/the owner/chef for 5 minutes @ end of our dining experience a few nights ago. Downstairs area was packed, darker, noisier. Fantastic food & service! Menu print a little too small used our iPhones to magnify & lite to more easily read . 👍🍷😊

The food was good going down. Great ambiance and service. BUT.... all 4 of us felt sick and had a heavy feeling that night. It was also bad the next morning. We are thinking they way overused garlic. We each had pasta (different ones) and we shared one cut of steak. We also had some veggies, burata, and octopus starters.

Don’t get me wrong — the place is cool and food was pretty good. But given how we all felt after, don’t think we will be going back.

Update: my wife ate vongole pasta. She only finished half and took the rest home. We looked at it tonight and it had an unbelievable amount of garlic in it. She lightly washed the pasta and removed 75% of the garlic. It was delicious! But they made it way way over the top on garlic. Lost all the other flavors. I have to believe that is a kitchen training mistake

I love the food at Red Ash but I find the servers and hostess to be rude. They are not very accommodating. Based on their prices they need better service. I also find it silly not to offer the happy hour menu throughout the restaurant. There is not enough seating for the bar and that is the only place you can get the HH menu.

Hands down, The Best Steak I ever ate anywhere! And the salads, pasta, veggies too! I have eaten at least half of the menu and everything is superb! You now have to make reservations months in advance to get in but sooo worth the experience! For an extra special treat, try to sit at the Chef’s Counter, for 2-3 people it is a cooking experience!

Food was wonderful. Service was pretty good, but our server was spread thin. We didn’t receive our sides we ordered. It worked out because we were full anyways! There were large parties on either side of us (we were seated on upper level) so it was slightly noisy and crowded.

Starting with the salads, which are definitely big enough for 2 people to share, everything was superb. The restaurant has a stellar wine list. The entrees are varied and each of the those ordered at our table came out perfectly. To top it off, our server, Brandi, was outstanding.

The food was great and the ambiance and the waiter on the upper level that night was just outstanding. Even for Red Ash. Don’t know his name and receipt didn’t reveal much but he really ramped up the level anyone could expect from even a great waiter. Best experience in fine dining in Austin for a long time!

They added a very personal touch by giving my friend a bday card signed by all the staff. So unexpected. The restaurant is first class all the way from the food, service, ambience and the little extra touch that makes the experience all the more pleasurable.

Smells delicious Italian as you enter the door - garlic, tomatoes, spices. Our favorite Italian in Austin; we are originally from the NY/NJ area where Homemade Italian food is great and readily available. All the pasta is house-made and you can taste it. This is traditional Italian with a modern twist. The staff is knowledgeable and efficient. We love the 1/2 plate option, available on most pasta dishes, which allows for more tastes. We shared the meatballs, the ravioli, the spaghetti, and the gnocchi. Each was flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The ravioli is a fav of mine because it’s a veal mix not standard 3 cheese. As it is an open floor plan with the bar in the middle, most nights it is loud but you can still hear your table mates. This visit we were seated at a table, which is nice, but I actually prefer sitting at the prep bar where you can watch the chefs prepare the food.

This is not the first time I’ve dined at Red Ash. This trip made me realize this place is kind of overhyped. Don’t get me wrong, the food is good...I mean, real good. The steaks are insanely good. The only thing I’m not getting now is the price point coupled with the long wait for reservations. There are so many other restaurants in Austin that meet or exceed this level of dining, likely by waking in, and certainly easier on the pocketbook. Do it once, do it twice, just to say you’ve done it...
