All was going well until they closed the kitchen before we’d even been served all our meal. We tried to order additional vegetables before entree was served and was told the kitchen was closed and dessert was not even offered because the Pastry Chef left. We were not even offered to preorder before they departed nor asked if we’d like anything else.
Horrible customer service!

We had a glass of chalk hill Chardonnay, swordfish, duck, Caesar salad. All excellent. Gracious service.. architecture is stunning.

Amazing food. Amazing experience overall. Our waiter Justin was the best. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and was able to answer all of our questions. We will be returning in the very near future.

GREAT Service and Very friendly staff! overall service has Awesome. But for the type of the restaurant the food was not very good. Our first entree was sent back not very good. Staff was very gracious on ordering another item. Second item was a little better! for the $136.00 bill the food should have been off the charts good but it wasn't.

Beautiful restaurant - our servicer, Erica, was great and the food was delicious!
I highly recommend for special occasions. I was there for my birthday and they made it special.

We will definitely go back and we also want to check out the outside bar.

Be prepared to wait. There is a long time between the first course and main course- almost an hour, and for linguini that’s entirely too long to wait.

This was my first time at Rec Pier Chop House. Everyone from the valet to the wait staff was supper professional and had great energy. It is obvious that they take the time to train their staff on the importance of customer service. We never once had to track down our waiter. There were several staff members that came to the table to check on us and were there to take any additional orders and to give recommendations. I loved it and will not make this my last time!

Made OpenTable reservation for February 15th. Arrive at restaurant and not told until seated that the sole dining option is a $125 prix fixe menu for 4 courses (1 appetizer, two small plates, 1 dessert). Again, there was NO option to select from their regular menu. The prix fixe food was small plate and effectively you got equivalent of 1 plate of food and small dessert for $125 per person.
The food quality was slightly better than moderate.
Overall, there are many many better restaurants in DC and Baltimore region where I would choose to go in the future and will recommend to my friends/family in the future.
I think if you are going to force patrons to a $125 prix fixe menu, then the onus is on the restaurant to warn people of this up front (event through the use of OpenTable).

My husband and I went there for a Valentines evening dinner. I have to say, I was surprised at the prefix menu as we were not told ahead of time that we would have no other choices. We expected that for spending $300 for 2, we would be getting some fabulous food. Unfortunately, that was not the case. My lobster risotto was a complete salt bomb along with my husband’s short ribs.
The halibut was just ok and our dessert was dry!
Overall, really disappointing. Not sure we will come back again, but I would really like to give it another chance.

Definitely worth a visit! The chefs did a fantastic job coming up with a unique Valentine's Day menu. The drink pairings were excellent. Definitely recommend the short rib entree! Our waiter, Justin, was wonderful. Love the ambiance of Rec Pier, it is such a cool location. Would come again!!

I enjoyed the food and the experience/ambiance. However, I did not realize that the Valentine's Day pre-fixed menu was the only menu that was available. I was not made aware of this when I made my reservation or when I called to confirm. As a picky eater it was difficult for me to choose.

I expected this to be a very elite experience. The food was good but not mind blowing, but the prices weren’t crazy either (for brunch), so it was a fair value. Our server was excellent at the table, but not so much at getting us our food or filling condiment requests.

Have given numerous 5 star reviews. After tonight, will never return.
Took Gluten free friend (because of Celiac Disease-not choice) for 72nd bday. She asked all pertinent questions prior to ordering and was told by server that chef would be consulted prior to order placed. 20-30 minutes later all dishes arrived with “these have gluten, we hope you’re okay with that”
Um. No I’m not.
New dished ordered “expedited” ....
We waited another 20-30 minutes and asked for the check. They comped PART of her meal and we left...
Manager met us AT THE DOOR to apologize and attempt to get us to return for dessert.
No thank you.
We will not return. Ever.

I went with a Friend to Sunday Brunch and it was absolutely amazing. The service and food were top notch. We got the bread basket, crab cake and steak and eggs. My only thing is that I wish they were a little faster bringing put the drink refills. The whole staff works as a great team. I didn't feel like I just had one waiter. I felt like everyone there was sure that guests were attended to which was really nice.

We have been to the bar on numerous occasions so we knew the drinks are worth coming in for. Dinner was most enjoyable. Started with the antipasti, delicious assortment of meats and cheeses and other goodies. Ordered the orecchiette, very rich and satisfying. Steak was done to perfection. The affogato for two is a must!

This was our second time dining at Rec Pier, and it was very good. The cheese/meat board was interesting and had good variety. House marinated olives were rich and flavorful. Our entrees were delicious as well. Only negative was that our server disappeared at the end of our meal and it took a while to get the check.

Pasta and sides were good. Steaks were OK. Preparation of the halibut was I’ll conceived—paired with overly spicy tomato condiment. We called in advance to check on whether we could bring a bottle of wine and to check on corkage fee. The wine had some age on it and needed decanting which was done at home so as to not agitate the contents on the way to the restaurant. When we arrived we were told they could not serve the wine because it had been opened. We were not informed of this policy when we called or would have brought a younger wine that would not have needed decanting. Major failure on part of the restaurant.

Excellent experience, visited as part of a coupon deal with a stay at the Pendry hotel. Brunch was great and our waitress was great with catering to our infant (got high chair without asking, got small coffee spoon without asking, etc)

The Rec Pier Chop House is one of my favorite restaurants in Baltimore. Such a beautiful room, great service and delicious food. On this occasion, while the food was good, I had the feeling that whoever was in charge of the quantity of sauce was feeling a bit too generous. The crab cake was good, but the accompaniment was out of proportion. I had never had a salad at your restaurant before, but from this experience I now know that I need to ask for the dressing on the side. Both the Caesar and the arugula salads were way overdressed. The flavors of the dressings are wonderful, but there can be too much of a good thing. To change it up a bit, we ordered the pannetone french toast for dessert and were happily pleased with the quantity of the sauce, though the server asked if we would like more, just in case there was not enough. I will always return to the Rec Pier Chop House. So happy that it is in Baltimore!

I was first struck with the building, decor, structure design. A wow visually.. Then not to disappoint the service was first rate, very accommodating, the manager stopped by our table... impressive. The menu items were limited, a little something for everyone. It was a last minute decision to go there, but now am glad I can brag it was a perfect choice.

Good food, stellar service and beautiful space. The wine list is expansive, with bottles at all different price points. The dining menu is quite expensive for Baltimore, although at least the portions are generous. I wouldn't hesitate to come back for drinks and appetizers, but I'd probably go elsewhere for steak given how many other choices there are in the area.

The steak ordered had to be sent back to cook to the medium temperature ordered.
The sword fish was not hot and slightly on the dry side.
Brussel Sprouts were wonderful
