Great place, great food, and great service.
Every thing I mean every thing was fantastic
Family visiting from out of town
Rec Pier Chop House is a fantastic experience. The space is beautiful. The cocktails before dinner were meticulously crafted – and tasty! Diana, our server was friendly and knowledgeable. The sommelier listened to our preferences and suggested a beautiful wine to compliment our meal. The food was amazing. We started with the sheep’ milk ricotta and Caesar salad. Our main course is as the Tomahawk Ribeye with bone marrow peppercorn sauce. It was all worth the splurge. From appetizers, through the main course, and after dinner drinks in the Cannon Room – this was a wonderful experience.
Great experience. Very welcoming staff. Quality food! We will be back!
The carbonara is a star as are the housemade cheeses. Great appetizer selection in general. Tomahawk steak is impressive, if pricey. Excellent service.
Service staff friendly, professional and attentive. Granddaughter had Frozen princess outfit on (going to Disney on Ice) - staff all made fuss over her. Since it was also her birthday dinner, nice to get the dessert with a candle. Our server - Alexis was the best - unfortunate she only works weekends.
My expectations for Rec Pier Chop House were already pretty high when I made the reservation having had drinks at the bar previously. However bonus points go to the server for calling prior to our reservation and asking if we were celebrating anything special. In this case we were, my anniversary. I am hard pressed to think of an employee who didn't congratulate us on our anniversary from the moment we checked our coats to the time we departed without us having to say a word to them. The server was courteous and prompt, but still left us to take our time with the meal, something my wife and I rarely find.
The appetizer was affetaffi misti, which I believe was freshly sliced on the far side of the restaurant. The prosciutto and soppressata were delicious and the cheeses followed suit. We also started off with some cocktails that pleasantly surprised me. I am somewhat of a bourbon lover but refuse to pay exorbitant prices for mid level bourbon in cocktails. For instance there is another place in Fells Point where a bourbon cocktail goes for 12 dollars and the liquor is Evan Williams, which is about 15 dollars a bottle. The same location charged me 16 dollars for an Elijah Craig pour and added 2 dollars for a large cube. Neither are awful bourbons, but I refuse to pay the price of the bottle for one drink. Rec Peir actually had some of the most reasonable prices I've seen in the Fells area at least.
For dinner we elected for the pasta section. The wife had the Spaghetti and Meatball which was in her words "The best spaghetti ive ever had." I went with the Rigatoni and wasn't disappointed either, the cheese that topped the perfectly prepared el dente noodles made the dish. Very creamy and rich sauce, with the meat adding a little spice to the dish. I don't think ive ever seen pasta retain the sauce so well in my life, id love to know how they accomplished it. Dessert was the pumpkin option and also outstanding.
There for lunch. Food was very good. However, very small portions for the price especially for lunch. Restaurant’s decor/atmosphere was excellent.
Very good food, but overpriced. No table cloth. Beautiful décor. Valet parking is $25, which seems like a gouge after the cost of the meal.
Amazing unique food and drinks, great service from Rose. Highly recommend!
The waitress suggested we order appetizer/entrée all at once to get the proper experience. The entrées came out 10 minutes before the sides. One of the pasta dishes was cold. Lighting in the restaurant was poor to the point where guests throughout the restaurant needed their phone light to read the menu.
Brilliant experience! New fav spyfor special occasions/ making memories🙂
We dined there celebrating a birthday. Overall it was a great dining experience. The only complaint is the noise level was a but high for a conversation between two people. They forget our side dishes with our entrees. Our waitress, Rose, was very apologetic and got them out asap. The Caesar salad is stated on the menu as being prepared at your table, however, it was not but brought out already prepared. The entire staff is constantly checking on you to make sure everything is ok. Beautiful elegant ambiance, definitely worth the experience.
First class restaurant. With an exceptional staff that is willing to cater to you with exceptional detail.
Disappointing. Usually good. Must have been an off day. I think they forgot to put our order in and it took forever between our salad/soup course and our entree. Once our entrees (pasta) arrived they were luke warm. We were a party of 3. We had a 12:30 lunch reservation and paid our bill at 2:17.
Beautiful decor and almost perfect service. One small issue was that when the gentleman pours the olive oil into the dipping bowl, he should be careful not to splatter -- Otherwise it was a delicious and elegant meal. I would definitely recommend!
Staff was very attentive
My favourite place in Baltimore. Quality of food and service is excellent.
My wife and I both ordered steaks. They were a little under $60 per steak, sides were more money. Some steaks were well over $100 per steak. I ordered mine medium and it was cooked very rare. My wife ordered medium well and was told it would have a touch of pink and it was cooked medium rare. I just ate my rare steak because I don’t like to complain but my wife being pregnant couldn’t eat a rare piece of meat so she sent it back and after a few minutes they brought the same steak back out and it was no different. At that point I was about finished mine and both frustrated we sent her steak back again and she ended up not getting anything.
If they’re going to charge those kind of prices for steaks they should make sure they have someone that knows how to cook them. If Outback can do it I think the Rec Pier Chop House should be able to.
Atmosphere is stellar. The food is good for the higher price point but not the best I've had. Our server was excellent but stretched between too many tables, so wait time between that and the kitchen was way too long.
Had a lovely birthday dinner with a dear friend. Food was delicious, wine was good.
Enjoyed the beautiful setting and the food was very good for the value. Beautiful rehab of the building is something to behold, makes Fells Pt. A more attractive option for dining!
A beautiful space. Delicious food. Our table was wedged in the corner and it was hard to get out of if there was someone sitting next to us. Other than that, amazing place.
What an outstanding anniversary dinner. Service was impeccable. Food even better. Cocktails and bartender outstanding. We had the rockfish and it was delicious. Had the tuna and the octopus as appetizers, unfortunately the octopus was a little chewy and the peppers on the tuna were a little spicy for us. We had the dolce la leche gelato for dessert and it was delicious. They even sent over macaroons because they knew it was our anniversary. Definitely will be going back.
Everything was amazing
It was our first night in Fells Point as we were moving a family member to the area. We could only get a late reservation, which was fine but the speed of service and overall experience was disappointing. We were offered a seat in the lounge while we waited as we were early to arrive. We were seated and received no service in the lounge until the exact time we were seated for our reservation. The dining room is very loud and makes easy conversation difficult. The food was very good, and should be for the cost. We did order 3 filets, all medium and one of them was more medium well to well done. For a $45 steak, I would expect it done perfectly. Many options available in Fells Point that I found better
Great ribeye and ricotta. The pesto pasta was not good at all, at all. Service was ok, a little rushed. A bit on the pricey side, but it's a Plank restaurant, so there's that.
I wish I took down all of the restaurant staff who helped to make a little boy's birthday so special. This is the second year we brought Brendan to Rec Pier for his birthday--he loves the swordfish. The staff just went out of their way to make the event special. He loves this experience!
Great food and ambiance!! Enjoyed everything Alexis was awesome as our server.
Great food and even better service. Although we were dressed casually due to travel, we were welcomed and our dietary needs were taken into consideration by the staff and chef. I appreciated the kitchen going the extra mile to provide me with a beautiful and delicious vegan meal.
Excellent service (Diane was our server) but the crab pasta was filled with shells and the crabmeat clearly wasn’t picked. Also, the bone-in filet we ordered was good, but very undercooked. Cool spot but overpriced for what you get.
Excellent steaks! Flavor and quality are on-point. The filet has had zero fat on it every occassion I have been there...it is my benchmark steak to which I compare all filets now!
Very good food, excellent pasta selections, great cuts of steak, overall a very nice menu with good service.
Excellent Restaurant for ANY occasion. Baltimore is a city for foodies and Rec Pier will not disappoint! Our server, Rose (I believe), was amazingly attentive and personable. The food was delicious, perfectly prepared and plated. The ambiance is perfect for a romantic birthday or a group outing. If you really want to impress book a room at the Sangamore Pendry, the hotel that houses the restaurant. Even if you don't, the Rec Pier is a culinary experience!!!
I found the meal to be uneven last night. Pre fixe NYE menu had ample choices. The salad was perfectly fine, the truffle risotto was bland and boring. The short rib entree was delicious but very small. The bomboloni was delicious but the chocolate custard was way too dense for my taste. A bit disappointing for a NYE meal. Service was excellent throughout. Sommelier and the entire staff was fantastic.
An excellent dining experience - the food was superb and the ambiance pleasant. Relatively muted acoustics, so one can have a nice conversation without shouting to be heard.
