Nice menus for brunch but service was not good. Though friendly, the server was new and didn't seem like she was fully trained. There were 3 of us and two dishes came out, delivered by the manager, who said the third one was coming right out, but it took almost 10 minutes so we had to chose to start without all of us having our food or two of us eating cold eggs. They could not figure out how to use the Open Table certificate I presented and it took them about 20 minutes to determine no one knew how to do it so they comped the entire meal. I appreciated that but I felt bad - not looking for a free meal and even offered to just pay what I knew was owed but they said the system woulnd't accespt it. Nice room and decent food plus friendly staff, but still it was not a meal I would repeat.
The servers seemed very inexperienced. Service was not professional.
We were basically ignored and even when we asked for service it took a long time to receive it. Starting with menus, continuing to ordering and receiving food and beverages the service was non-existent and when requested, begrudgingly, slowly given. The food was mediocre. I would never return nor would I recommend that anyone else attempt to eat breakfast at this restaurant. Perhaps they were nicer to hotel guests, I hope so.
I really wanted to like this place because it had good reviews and the lobby bar ambiance was great, but the service was so poor (non-existent) we left before even placing a food order. That was after sitting around for 40 minutes...it took 30 minutes before they brought our drink order, at which point they still hadn't taken a food order. And when we got there and inquired where to check in, no one was available so we joined a line of disgruntled-looking people that had seemingly been waiting for some time. Not sure if the manager called in sick that night, but they need some work on the operations front.
Absolutely fine if you’re staying there. Not worth going to on purpose. Food good but completely standard and uninspired.
Food took 30+ minutes. While the servers were nice and amiable, we rarely saw them and took a while to get more coffee / water. My food was cold by the time it came out, they gave me a 2nd order (they realized mine was for someone else, or something), but the 2nd order was ALSO cold.
Everyone else's food was fine though. Maybe I just got unlucky.
Rebel's Guild was a small hotel bar that had great ambiance and a surprisingly good menu + cocktail menu. We went rather early for dinner on a Friday so it may get louder later at night but was very quiet and uncrowded when we went. The brick chicken and mushroom risotto was well above expectations and we'll be going back more often.
Great spot to start the night! Had an amazing burger with a great bottle of wine
Great place to eat before a show. Service was fabulous. Great drink menu and food was delish.
Made reservations to celebrate a birthday. The hostess never looked at the reservation so she was not aware it was a special occasion. It was not busy yet the service was painfully slow. We had to ask for menus & water, the wait to place an order & get our drinks was excessive. The food was good, but not enough to make up for the poor service. Ending up going elsewhere for dessert. I am willing to give it another chance just for the ambiance.
It got very busy and there was not enough wait staff for the number of tables. Our waiter was wonderful and checked in with us every chance he could.
More of a bar space then dinner space! Food was good but I’d go for more of the apps drink feel!
Awesome! Service was fast and accurate. Food was amazing! Scallops were my favorite. Steaks are all good. Best meal, service and atmosphere we have had in a long time, thanks Jorge for amazing service may have to go back soon. See you there!
Awesome service and food was delicious.
The food the service the atmosphere, everything was great.
Great food and vwry friendly waitstaff. It was very quick and quiet as well, although we ate an early dinner, which helped I'm sure.
service overall was amazing. "Jorge " is a great waitress and was very helpful through out the night.
We really enjoyed the food, which was very nicely prepared. The menu is eclectic and features something for every taste, from meat loaf, spaghetti bolognese to steak frites and salmon. The tasting menu was equally tempting and diverse. The ambiance is relaxed and comfortable. The ambient music was interesting — some 80’s punk/new wave; however, it did tend to intrude on conversation. The biggest downfall of the experience was the service. Although our wait staff was very polite, the service was terrifically slow. We waited for just about an hour for our food.
The service was really really terrible. We went with a group, which I get makes things more complex for the waitress, but it was just awful. It was well over an hour for our food to come out. After dinner the waitress, without any mention of check splitting, dumped a check for 10 of our group of 12 on the table and said she could not split it further. After we were done splitting it for her and she ran through the cards, she managed to ring us all up for more than the total bill by $15. Which we all were so sick of, we just left it.
They had a band at 6:30 playing loudly right in the middle of everything. And the band was bad. We just walked out when they could give us a table where we could even hear each other.
loved the popcorn and the mushroom flatbread. both our dinners were good
Visiting the area for a weekend; Staying at the Hotel and didn’t want to search for a restaurant after a long drive. Food was good, service was fine. Sever made me a decent espresso martini.
I'm a meat lover and I'm also very critical about it! If I like medium, that's the way I like. No more or less! Is just like when you order something and you create some expectation and they go over it.
And it doesn't stop there! I'm not a chicken fan bit my friend ordered a chicken and I was never so interested in a piece of chicken before like there.
Our waiter Jorge gave us a real teaching about which wine would be better served with our food, besides his amazing courteous customer service.
Our waiter Jorge was fantastic. He was incredibly friendly and helpful and never left us wanting for anything. The food was also top notch. Everything we had was delicious and fresh and it was a spectacular experience overall. I would highly recommend this restaurant!
Rebel's Guild takes place in the location that used to be Emerald's Lounge for the Boston legends. The renovations are strong. We greatly enjoyed the quality of the food and cocktails. There appears to have been a strong effort on that front. While located in the Revere Hotel it still feels like it stands on it's on. We recommend it.
Nice ambiance, good food and great drinks. Service was friendly and quick. It was fairly quiet for a Saturday night which was nice as we had a big party and could actually hear each other during dinner.
Service was slow. Ordered rare burger which came out medium well. Ordered small plate which they forgot to bring. Scallops were tasty, but the risotto it sat on was cold. Drinks were weak.
This restaurant has potential, but it needs a manager who is involved with the waitstaff.
Amazing wait staff! I wish more restaurants were like this!! The food is always the best. Wine and beverages are excellent.
Giuseppe(manager) Jorge ( waiter) we had a great time there. Thank you guys, we will be back!
Absolutely phenomenal! From the moment entering the establishment and being greeted like a VIP. (They greet all people the same just so you know) There isn’t a single downfall through the entire meal. Service, ( Jorge our waiter was amazing) food, ambiance, cleanliness. They deserve five stars!! Can’t wait to go back again!
Thank you so much for all of your feedback, we are so happy to hear that you had an amazing time! We hope we get to see you soon! David Nguyen General Manager
Had a really great time at Rebel’s Guild. Jorge provided us with great service. He was always checking up on us making sure we were good. Thank you for the awesome service Jorge
Thank you for your review! We love to hear positive feedback! I will pass along to Jorge the raving comments! David Nguyen General Manager
It’s not the server’s fault, but the guy clearly had a raging case of conjunctivitis in BOTH eyes, his entire white of his eyes were bright red. There’s no way he should’ve been serving people food.
Thank you for your review, if you would like to email me separately and give more feedback about your experience that would be great. David Nguyen General Manager
This was my 1st time experiencing Rebel's Guild and what a wonderful time we had. We were amazed from the minute we stepped in, with the koolest decor, the pleasant staff from hostess to servers and the atmosphere - so relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed every last morsel of food from our appetizers (Paul's Balls and Lobster Deviled Eggs-how unique), the main course was delicious and desserts were out of this world scrumptious. I order the cinnamon ice cream sundae, every last scoop was amazing. I was surprised to find a scoop of vanilla and chocolate ice cream, (not complaining as they were creamy and fabulous) was looking forward to just an all cinnamon ice cream. I highly recommend dining at Rebel's Guild and l look forward to another top notch evening here.
Thank you so much for joining us and giving us a great review! We love that you had an amazing time and we hope that you can join us again in the near future. David Nguyen General Manager
Food was not impressing at all. Under cooked steak and I rather have fried chips and chips from a hole in a wall little restaurant by mu house than this restaurant. It was all greasy battering. Service and ambiance was good.
Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that the food was not up to par. I will give the feedback to our culinary team. David Nguyen General Manager
Atmosphere was very pleasant and serving staff was excellent. Food was prepared perfect and delicious. Thank you Jorge we’ll be back!
We are so happy to hear that you had a great time with Jorge, I will make sure to pass along the feedback. Please reach out when you want to come back in, hope to see you soon! David Nguyen General Manager
Food was just ok for the price and the drinks were expensive and not worth it. Will not go back.
Brunch was supposed to go until noon but they were clearly trying to clean it up by 11:30. Fruit and bacon almost empty. Never offered fresh cooked eggs or an omlet. The pre-made egg dishes were cold. Only thing I enjoyed was the make your own yogurt parfait bar, but $25 is a little steep for that.
Overpriced and overhyped. Waitstaff inattentive and haphazard. Food fine but not worth the price.
The restaurant is attractive and clean. The family-sized bottle of water and carafe of coffee for each table is outstanding! I only gave 4 stars for value because although the entrees coming directly from the kitchen were tasty, hot and delicious, they were a bit pricey ($21 for eggs benedict) compared to the value and amount of food from the buffet ($25), but the egg dishes were barely warm. Consequently, on our second visit our entire family ordered the buffet. When we received our bill, we discovered the buffet price for children was only $15, but the menu only lists the buffet price as $25, had we known the children's buffet price the day before, we would've all ordered the buffet. I gave 3 stars for service because the morning servers are welcoming, but lack attentiveness. We had to ask/remind our server for the juice that comes with the buffet, repeatedly ask for water and also for the knives that were missing from our place settings, which means food was getting colder while waiting for silverware. The buffet offers a wide variety of breakfast foods, but some of the blueberries were shriveled and moldy, and ALL hot items were only warm at best, which is dangerous when serving eggs, and sausage. We were surprised that the buffet items were less than hot yet again. We experienced this the previous morning, but assumed it was because we were seated at 10:30 and they stop serving at 11am. However, upon reflecting, I realize that that does not excuse the restaurant from meeting servsafe requirements. Our food should've been kept hot and fresh. Also, the silver dollar pancakes should be kept in a steamer, otherwise they become cake-like cookies. I would recommend this buffet to others only if their server can ensure that all items are actually hot and fresh.
I don't write many reviews unless things are very good or very bad. Honestly I LOVE writing positive reviews because I'm all about sunshine and happiness and telling people they did a great job is my favorite thing. This experience was truly bad all around. We arrived 6 minutes late for our 6pm reservation - seated immediately without issue. The waiter, who was apparently a manager, took our drink order quickly which seemed like we were off to a good start.
Drinks took a suspiciously long time to arrive. Whatever. We ordered food. My fiance had a pasta dish and I picked a burger. ...We did not see this waiter again for a very long time. He refilled water once. After about an hour of waiting around for food, we almost had to get up and leave because we were seeing a show at 8 and it was 7:30. The manager/waiter came over to apologize. He gave his card for complimentary drinks after the show - which was a nice offer I guess but wildly impractical and we would not make the trek back for drinks that weren't good to begin with. He also comped the drinks we did buy which saved us about 30 bucks. Another nice gesture but man when you only get to have a date night once in a while and it's a complete waste of time - gestures only go so far.
Sometimes food takes a long time and restaurants are busy. We get that. There were just so many employees standing around or straightening chairs or whatever that it's kind of amazing that this experience was so bad.
Also my burger was no better than like... Wendy's. Good lord. My fiance's pasta looked like it came out of a kraft box. We waited this long for food we cook when we're feeling lazy at home.
Don't eat here. This should be an embarrassing experience for those who own and manage this place.
Jorge was AWESOME!!!
His focused attention on our group for a sisters birthday night out was perfect!!
Dinner, drinks not to mention the birthday celebration with desert was so fun.
We will certainly be back!!
Thank you to entire staff.
Jorge... we’ll be back!!
