Food was good. Felt a bit like a new kitchen still finding it’s feet, but we’ll definitely be back. Pastry chef needs to find out about moisture. Waiter was very knowledgeable about the food. Overall decent, excited to see where it will go.
Dave Jones was our server. He is the best we have had the opportunity to dine with in many many years. I forgot my glasses. He read the entire menu and took the time to break down each selection.
If you go there, and you should, ask for Dave Jones. He will take your dining to the next level.
PS: I am not related to Dave!
In addition to many positive reviews online, I saw a fair number of reviews complaining the portions were too small. Unless something has changed, this was a result of not reading the menu. They have 3 levels of items to be ordered: small plates, starters, and entrees. The entrees were extremely generous in size. Small plates are intended to be only about 3 or 4 bites. All were priced appropriately. In short, the food was not only excellent, but so were the quantities and value.
Enjoyed dinner. My duck entree was fantastic.
We entertained out of town friends. Very nice.
Phenomenal food, excellent service and an all around wonderful experience. One of my favorites in Knoxville!
Originally prepared fresh food
Excellent local restaurant. Creative cuisine. Great service. Extensive wine list.
Very innovative and modern cuisine - delicious dishes which are beautifully balanced in regard to taste, combination and display.
If you are in the mood for locally sourced ingredients that dance on your tongue, go to Rebel Kitchen. The food is fantastic, the service is sensational, and the wine list is worldly. One of my favorite places to dine in Knoxville.
We dined outside on the patio. It was a Wonderful experience except for the four wheelers that were racing up and down the streets. Not something rebel can easily fix but definitely an undesirable level of noise pollution interrupting our peaceful dinner.
This was our first time eating the food at Rebel Kitchen since the chef changed, we were absolutely impressed and will forever remember every detail of our meal! The food was exciting; adventurous, yet restrained. The service was friendly and informative without being pretentious or over-bearing. We sat at the chef's bar and that was an experience we will want to have again! We were able to watch and learn and the chefs were fun to interact with. They also were so gracious and let us try things we did not order, which was wonderful!! Flavors I can't seem to get out of my mind are, sweet breads with shishito peppers, duck prosciutto that melts in your mouth, confit duck with those ingenious grapes and wine, powerful little sun-chokes, and grit crispy oyster mushrooms, YUM! Thank you all for an incredible dining experience!! We will be singing your praises and we will be back!
1) Food portion is small. 2) The main entree were served almost half an hour after we finished the starters. 3) The outside crust of the breaded oyster mushroom and sweetbread were very gummy. The rice from the side dish of the duck was undercooked. The chicken was dry. The striplion steak was not tender and too chewy.
I understand most of the dishes were kind of experimental, but we were expecting a better food experience.
I had heard how good the food was at the Rebel Kitchen, and our experience did not disappoint. Very good options for mixed drinks, a varied menu that provided several vegetarian options were much appreciated. Our waiter was outstanding and the chefs were friendly and cheerful. We will definitely return, and will take advantage of the invitation to sit at the bar and watch the meal prep take place. Each dish seemed to have an innovative approach, and there is an effort to locally source ingredients. One more great restaurant in Knoxville! Wonderful experience overall at the Rebel Kitchen. I highly recommend.
Excellent wine list, with daring and rare wines. Friendly service, amazing scallops with blueberry pure, inventive
Wonderful meal again with great service. Chef Preston sent out 3 entrees not on the menu recognizing we were multiple return diners! One of the best places in town. Consistently great.
Great food and service. Loved the unique selections. Will definitely return.
It was wonderful from start to finish!!!
Brunch was delicious, the place was immaculate, and the service was outstanding. The place is a gem in the heart of the Old City.
This was our second drag brunch and it was awesome! Food was great and mimosas were better! Overall terrific!
Delicious experience! We will definitely be back.
Delicious flavors, small plates, thorough details about each dish before ordering, lovely place to sit and talk with friends while waiting for each course.
Food portions were not enough to feed a child let alone an adult.
There is no reason to return ....
Fantastic experience! Our meal was wonderful! We loved everything our server recommended! I highly recommend Rebel Kitchen to everyone.
Creative amazing flavors prepared fresh before your eyes. Recommend sitting at the bar to watch the show. Chef and his team really make you feel at home.
Booked a spot at the chef’s counter for our wedding anniversary, and it was easily one of the greatest dining experiences we’ve ever had. All of the chefs were incredibly personable and talented. We had the majority of the small bites and small plates and both had the duck as an entree. Not a single dish stood out as anything short of excellent with each dish feeling unique to Rebel Kitchen. Beyond the food, the service and wine list were both phenomenal, and I would recommend anyone who enjoys great food to dine here.
My boyfriend took me here for my birthday and it was a wonderful experience. They have plenty of options for you for wine. And my server helped with me making a decision. The food was amazing! Just over all very nice flavors. And everything was paced out nicely. I would love to come back for another special occasion.
This was a wonderful dining experience. The service was fantastic and the food was unforgettable. We really enjoyed our date night.
Loved everything about Rebel Kitchen!
Excellent - just moved from ATL and spend a lot of time in NY and this place was definitely on par with those. Reminded me of restaurants in California - Sonoma/Napa. I’ll definitely be back.
Always enjoy eating at Rebel Kitchen. Food is a;ways excellent and Brad is awesome.
We were there in a slow Tuesday night, so I cannot truly Tate the noise level. I can rate the food and service as outstanding. Given the professional pride, I doubt that would change on a busier night. I will definitely be back to test my own theory. I highly recommend!
Drag brunch was awesome!! We all enjoyed it so much. Mimosas were great and food was good.
We had a wonderful time during Drag Brunch this past weekend. It was a great event for a great cause. The food was absolutely delicious with moderately priced cocktails. We will definitely be back!
Tasty fresh food, friendly and timely service. We each had different brunch selections and they were all delicious. The portions weren't huge but that was okay with us. Highly recommend!
Rebel Kitchen is my go to restaurant in Knoxville! Whether it’s a simple date night, special occasion, or entertaining friends visiting the area, it’s my #1 spot! I love the unique items on the menu and how it is constantly updated. Service is always spectacular and they make you truly feel a part of the family. I could not say enough positive things about this Knoxville gem!
Service was excellent
Creative, well-executed cuisine featuring regional products combined with a curated wine list make this one of Knoxville's best new restaurants. Service was expert and mercifully the place was not too noisy to chat.
The server wasn’t super knowledgeable about the food preparation, and it overall too salty. For the amount you pay for the food I was expecting it to be flavorful not beyond salty, to the point I didn’t want to eat it.
The food was fantastic as was the service! The tables (at least where we sat) were a little close together, so having any type of intimate conversation was a little challenging. It was getting very loud as well, so we kept having to talk over the tables next to us just to hear each other. I wouldn’t let either of these things deter me from going again. Probably the best meal I’ve had in Knoxville in a long time.
