The service here was terrific. The bartender Jared was very professional. He gave us great direction. He described meal choices to perfection. I was delighted with this establishment. I will come back again.

Never fails to disappoint. The open shell oysters go very quickly though. You have to sit close to the buffet if you hope to get any.

Wanted to try the award winning brunch and was extremely disappointed. The service was horrendous- we only saw our server to greet us and to leave the check halfway through our meal. The other servers around us had to help with refill our drinks and answer any questions we had. The food was okay- nothing worth $40 a person. We do not plan to dine here for a long time.

I have been to Ray's multiple times before but it seems like things have changed. The menu has changed and it appears that there are fewer items to choose from. They were out of all of our favorites and the server didn't notify us of things running out until we asked about it. I'm sure the busy valentines day weekend didn't help but the restaurant should have prepared better.

Table wasn’t ready till thirty minutes after reservation than service was slow. My fish tasted fishy and my wife ordered a salad and a crab cake appetizer for her main course. The waiter brought them out at the same time he brought everyone else’s salad and then didn’t bring her crab cake at the same time as everyone’s dinner. We’ve been there many times and this is our worst experience.

This was not our first visit but it will definitely be our last dinner there. The service Saturday night was terrible. First of all, reservations don't really mean that you will be seated on time just that you name is on the list. We knew the service tends to be somewhat slow so we prepared to place our entire order once the server appeared. I think our server was new. This is not a cheap restaurant and I expect with the price we were paying we should receive excellent service ... that did not happen. The food tastes good but the lack of service puts a damper on the whole evening.

This was my first visit to Ray's. I'm celebrating LIFE. I chose this restaurant because of the view and my love of water. The food was exquisite, a bonus for me. I will dine here again. LF

I have been to eat at Ray's on the River many times and had the best service experience to date with Khalil as our waiter! It was my Mother's birthday and he took amazing care of us, the food was wonderful and he truly made it a meal to remember!

Definitely impressed with my first visit to Ray's, for which I was celebrating Valentine's Day. The food was amazing, we shared a Porter House for 2 w/ a side of scallops, the Lobster Mac n Cheese and the Sauteed Mushrooms. I must say though, I was most impressed with our server and his knowledge of the wine list and possible pairings with the food, even down to knowledge about the wineries where each wine came from. For a mere 22 years of age, he really knew his stuff, and I think it reflects well on Ray's that all of their staff are so in touch with their menu. Definitely would recommend to anyone trying to treat a special someone to a meal together.

The occasion was a 65th birthday so dinner needed to be special. It was. Perfect choice, great table location. Noise level was perfect, not so quiet that you heard forks scrape across plates but low enough for conversation across the table. Friendly, knowledgeable waiter. Grand time!

Our reservation was for 6:15, we were greeted and seated right away. Our order for drinks was taken quickly. Then after serving the drinks our dinner choices were made. We had a very nice waiter, who checked on us to see if at anytime we might need anything. All in all this was a wonderful dining experience. It had been over 5 years since we ate there last, we won't wait that long again. I had the Petite Filet Oscar style and my husband chose the Grilled Salmon Oscar style. Both our meals were excellent!

Well. Last night was an interesting experience that culminated in my husband declaring, "thank GOD we had a gift card".

To preface, I am nine months pregnant and obviously not drinking wine. That immediately put our waiter off. Sorry for the lack of upsell off the bat, I suppose.

First course was a dozen oysters. Whoever shucked them did a haphazard job because there were crumbles of shell (not sediment - shell.) in four of them. And no small forks were brought with this dish, requiring us to awkwardly dip our dinnerware into the horseradish, etc - presentation was off.

On to the entrees - we both ordered steaks, cooked medium, and three very easy vegetables to share. It took this a full hour to arrive. My steak was more mid-rare, and my husband's was well-done. We didn't say a word about it because we didn't have another hour to kill. A word about this food runner - my steak arrived with an au poivre sauce that I did not order due to a severe gluten allergy (noted in our reservation). I asked him to take the sauce back to the chef to verify that it was gluten free. Five minutes later, he returns and declares (loudly), "uhhhhh - chef says it probably has gluten in it, so don't eat it". Probably?? The chef doesn't know if he adds flour to a sauce?!

Brussels sprouts were oily, not lightly crisped. Roasted vegetables were not fully cooked. Parmesan fries were awesome, and the valets outside should probably be promoted to server and food runner as they were the friendliest part of our meal.

So thanks, Ray's on the River, for making our last date night before our son arrives extra lackluster. Could have eaten nearly identical parm fries with my husband at Marlow's and gotten better service. Our waiter was kind enough to congratulate us on our "ummmm...accomplishment" (because that's what you call a pregnancy???) on our way out, as well.

Ray's gets it right. For a special occasion like Valentine's they pull out all the stops. From the passed complimentary champagne in the lobby for waiting guests, to the wandering saxophone player with mood music, to a 2 tiered/priced prix fixe menu, spectacular evening. Food and service were top notch as well. Hat tip to Brian our server who got everything right. Folded napkins on table departures, silverware exchange between courses, bottomless wine and water, that is how it is done. Thank you Ray's.

I have not eaten at this Rays in a long time. I did, however, eat at the Ray's in Alpharetta a few months ago and was very please - which is what wanted me to come back and try this one on Aker's Mil since I live near it. I can't quite say what was wrong with the Aker's Mill location. Perhaps the menu was different? Service seemed just slightly off relative to the other location. It just was not the same experience for me. All of that being said it was still quite "good". There just does not seem to be congruency between brands / locations.
