Girls ‘ weekend
This was our 1st time there. Everything was awesome, from the staff, to the scenery, to the food EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!
My husband and I went here for a date night. We wanted a quiet, laid back place to have a nice evening. Ray's did not disappoint. We were seated at a table next to the windows overlooking the Chatahoochee River at sunset and it was beautiful. Our waiter was polite and attentive and the food was fantastic. I would go back for sure!
Atlanta classic. The view and live music make this a great weekend brunch spot. Variety of food offered at brunch is great. Quality of food and service is a little hit or miss. Some items we ate were out of this world while others just weren't that tasty. Service was similar with some of the staff being above and beyond and some a little slow to bring requested items or clear plates.
Fantastic experience from the beginning to the end! Excellent service, excellent food and beautiful natural views. Truly an Atlanta gem!
We had a great anniversary Sunday brunch. Our table was decorated with confetti and a Happy Anniversary greeting. The live music was also a nice touch. We will certainly be back. (I’m sorry our photo of the table wouldn’t fit to attach.)
Everything was great! Very neat, great employees, great atmosphere.
This was a first for my wife and I. We had never been to Rays on the River, and we decided to go for our 3rd wedding anniversary. Overall, I would say we had a very good experience. My only complaint is the wait staff seemed to be very disorganized and slow. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating and the food was excellent. Everything is pricey which is to be expected at a fancy restaurant like Rays, so in my opinion (from a price perspective) this place is only good for special occasions. I would definitely be willing to look past the inattentiveness of the wait staff and give this place another shot.
Celebrating birthdays. I and my wife entertain and dine out often. This was an excellent experience from start to finish.
We had an excellent experience at Rays. Everyone enjoyed the dishes they ordered, the service was excellent as well. We look foreward to dining there again.
Wonderful experience; food and drink were excellent and the service was outstanding. Our server, Brenda, made it a fun and pleasurable dining experience.
Hi excellent bar service and jazz ensamble helped create a relaxing, enjoyable atmosphere.
Our server Casey(?) i believe was amazing. She made our experience wonderful. She was going to a Florida Gator football game this weekend in case I do not have name right. Keep her
I chose this place since it was my husband’s first birthday after our marriage and he loves nature. This place truly did stand out to my expectations and our evening was very well spent. The view was amazing of Chattahoochee river and the service was also amazing. The ambience was beautiful and the staff right from valet to front desk to our server were so kind and well informed that they guided us well and also made adjustments on our taste while preparing food. All i can say that my husband’s birthday was well spent and he left with a huge smile. Last but not the least they also gave us a complimentary dessert since it was my husband’s birthday and it is worth trying was just so delicious that I still have the taste. Amazing !!!
Lobster bisque was outstanding! Statesboro chips were also a super appetizer. Service was excellent: friendly, competent and attentive yet not hovering. Food was exceptional! Wife loved the Atlantic halibut almost as well as that we had in Homer, Alaska. My filet mignon was better than those I’ve had at Ruth’s. For my wife’s birthday, we were treated to a complimentary dessert tray with two full portions!
Thus was my second visit this week. Love this restaurant!! James and Twofic were wonderful. Not sure of his name. Sorry.
I love this restaurant, different variety of food and a great staff. Complimentary valet parking and great for the whole family.
Prices are very high. Cowboy Ribeye was over cooked, and ran out so he had to pick a new entree- they did comp the meal. Music was nice. We were seated in the middle aisle so other tables conversations on either side of us were distracting for a romantic evening with my date.
Poor menu selection. No chicken choices or pasta. Ala carte choices only so this is a game of up charging.
My husband is from the South so my disappointment is not about the price. Why wouldn't such a nice place, nice music, plenty of room get more choices on the menu. Especially chicken & pasta dishes. Sorry I have never spent $124.00 for such a disappointing night.
Also why wasn't the river lit up with lights. There was nothing to see at night!
Get more choices on your menu! And stop trying to suck people dry by having steak & seafood only.
Poor service, never refilled the water, follow up was slow to see if we were doing good, Prime NY Strip was an end cut and we all know how they chew....very tough. And to top it all off a nice long hair in the Cheesecake. My date found it and what a way to ruin the night. I might as well is set 180.00 bucks on fire!
One last thing, you might want to close the front doors, the restaurant was warm and very humid inside.
You think we will be back?????
The food was good, but disappointed that the special occasion we were dining for was never acknowledged.
A rare meal and service that was not up to Ray's normal Five Star experience.
Great food. Our server had personality plus but seemed to have way too many tables so service was a tad slow.
Food was good and presentation was awesome. Our waitress was very attentive and awarded us free dessert for having a positive attitude about life and our life experiences. What a great afternoon sharing .
Went for a family lunch. Sat with a view of the river and gardens. Loved watching the people floating down the river! The restaurant is beautiful, the food was great and the waiter went out of his way to accommodate our requests for a milk substitute and a special coffee drink! The menu has a wide selection and the presentation is beautiful! A great place to celebrate any occasion! Special kudos for the lobster roll and praline dessert!!
Great for a romantic dinner. Service and food was amazing!
Derrick was our server. Excellent. Needs a raise!
Beautiful restaurant and setting, the food was delicious and the staff was wonderful
Great ambience great food! I am a regular visitor when in town and never disappointed with this restaurant.
Upon arrival and being seated it was more than 5 minutes before anyone came to our table to even serve water-- My husband had to seek out someone. The dressing on the fuji apple salad was strangely bitter. The lamb chops were seasoned well and tasteful but the service ruined the experience for us.
Fabulous restaurant, my favorite for birthdays, anniversaries, and other special (adult) occasions. In my opinion, Ray's on the River is the best restaurant in the Powers Ferry/Akers Mill/Cumberland area.
Paul Demit always requests that I make reservations at Ray's for his clients and interviews. He is never disappointed. Thank you.
It was my wife's and I 3 year anniversary and Jamaal was our server and took great care of us. It was our first time dining there and Jamaal helped guide our experience very nicely. We will definitely be returning to see him again.
The view of the river adds to the romance. Must be better in the winter when the sun goes down earlier, because see-through mesh roll down curtains cover the windows while the sun is still up.
Party of three. Indifferent service. Inconsistent food.
Forgotten salad course. Gumbo with one shrimp and three pieces of okra. Potato cold. Macaroni and cheese burnt. Poor cut of steak.
We will not return.
My waiter slacked with his service during the end. He shared one of his customers were upset. Well that has nothing to do with my service. At least it shouldn't have but it did.
We have been here previously which were great. This time was a letdown. Asked for window table said none were available but there were several empty all evening. Sat next to serving station which was constantly noisy. Sun was in our faces even with shades down. Food was lukewarm. Served irregularly had to wait forever for anything and it was not filled with patrons. Will not be back.
The staff is wonderful. The food delicious. The view is breath taking and very calming
Really enjoyed brunch. The food was outstanding and our waiter was great. They have so many brunch options. It was truly worth it.
We attended the Sunday Brunch and Ray's on the River delivered it well! We had not been in a couple of years and was hoping for the same wonderful experience. To my surprise the brunch has improved! The food is delicious and the staff were on point. Afterwards we spent a little time in the BEAUTIFUL garden along the riverside.
