We had an absolutely wonderful date night at Ray’s on the River this evening. They accommodated our seating request (we sat in the new outdoor section that is right off the bar area with a view of the river). Our server Pedro was outstanding. He was friendly, kind, and absolutely on point with all of our requests. I will say the same for all of the servers as they seemed to collaborate beautifully and help each other out. Several servers filled our waters and readily answered our questions and requests. We also deeply appreciated that when we had a special request for our meal, the chef himself came out and spoke with us - Chef Simon. He allowed us to communicate our request and responded with an “absolutely.” Our meal was truly done to perfection! Chef Simon did an amazing job with our meal. We both ordered the same thing - salmon and rice, and it was so delicious! The ambiance at Ray’s is warm and inviting. We never felt rushed, and all the servers seemed happy and ready to serve with kindness. Very pleasant experience. We hope to make it a regular date night location. -Christopher and Marjorie

Our dinner experience was wonderful! Our sever was fantastic. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and paced us well so we were able to really enjoy the evening and view of the river from the patio dining area. The food was amazing from the tuna poke starter to the bronzino whole fish special with chimichurri and stuffed with crab to the salmon with bernaise sauce and lump crab on top. The wine options were great as well. Thank you for a special evening!

Once again our weekly Tuesday date night at Rays on the River on Sept. 26th was a memorable experience, not only for the delicious food, but also from the stand point of the incredible service we received and the interactions we has with some of the staff. We sat at our usual secluded seats at the back of the bar and were greeted by our favorite bartender, Ava, who was going home early. She is so darn good at what she does so we were a little saddened she would not be serving us that evening, but she said her replacement, Juan, would do a heck of a job for us in her absence. This was definitely true as he took very good care of us during the two hours we were there. And I have to give him a shout out for making a fabulous Grey Goose Martini. The ever entertaining Assistant General Manager, Bryson Rudd, who we missed seeing last week, was back in the house and stopped by to chat with us for awhile. He said he was going to have Mike Casey, the General Manager, come over and introduce himself to us which he did. Mike has a warm and friendly manner and we enjoyed the stories he told us about his career. Later on another lovely lady introduced herself to us and it turns out she was Faith Vaughn who is the President and COO of Rays Restaurants. She was very impressive and we had a wonderful time talking with her as well. The fact that we are getting to know a lot of the employees here is really starting to make us feel quite at home every time we walk in the door. I can only say it almost feels magical because of the friendliness we receive from everyone we meet and the high quality of the food we dine on. And in this regard, we are so looking forward to coming back next Tuesday and, once again, having the amazing dining experience that Rays on the River consistently delivers.

I have been to Ray's multiple times. It is a beautiful setting with a varied menu and good food. We had a group of seven this week for lunch. The food was good but service was very slow.

Ray’s on the River was an awesome place to celebrate an anniversary and a birthday. Our waiter Aaron was attentive, and the food was delicious. There is a beautiful garden that overlooks the river, but it got dark before we could go out there. We highly recommend this restaurant!

Celebrated my birthday here for brunch and it was absolutely perfect! Outside seating was picturesque with moderate temperatures and blue sky overlooking the river and all the beautiful flora & fauna. Now the food, Jumbo Lump Crab Omelette, Challah French Toast, Stoneground Grits, and Buttermilk Biscuits. It was all superb, cooked to perfection and the most enjoyable dining experience we’ve had in a very long time. Kudos to Zack for seeing to every detail. His professionalism, grace, and wonderful attitude made this a memorable experience, the kind that we all remember pre-pandemic. Thank you for a lovely day!

I've been eating at Rays for years; through it's ups and downs. Yesterday's brunch was by far, the best overall experience I've had. The food was wonderful and the service outstanding! A suggestion: If you're not going to enforce the dress code take it off the website and the posting at the front door.

Refered to this location for our Anniversary dinner. Made reservations a month in advance and was sat at an open table in the middle of the restaurant. Asked to be moved to the window by the river. Cocktails were expensive and not the best at all. Wife got the red trout and thought it was just okay. My NY steak was tough even at medium rare. We decided to get the carrot cake special for desert. We each had 2 bites as it was dry. Sadly disappointed in our experience and the value of dinner.

Wow!!! I brought my parents here to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary and they’d never experienced anything like this level of dining. Our server came to the table and immediately warmly acknowledged their anniversary (I supplied them with that info when I made the booking here.) They were presented with a signed card from the Ray’s staff. Top notch ambience and food presentation. My parents are very southern and hard to please when it comes to food, so I was concerned, but they almost lifted out of their chairs taking a bite of the tomahawk steak and whipped potatoes. Everyone was highly impressed by every aspect of the dinner. THE BREAD BASKET WAS WORTH EVERY CENT. The bread was insanely fresh and well made. Just beautiful. I don’t know that I’ll ever be able to afford to come back here, but I was floored. Not to mention the well manicured gardens, paths, seating, and river flowing past.

Great food, drink and a wonderful meal. The specialty drinks were tasty. The pimento cheese hits doubted were sublime. Love the halibut and the steaks were cooked to perfection. A wonderful dining experience!

We had a lovely time. Really loved the ambiance. Our server tended to all our needs. We particularly liked the seafood appetizer for two suggested by our server. It was my husband’s birthday and my husband enjoyed the complementary dessert.

My wife and I had a delightful dinner, on our anniversary. We were delayed for our reservation, due to the infamous Atlanta traffic, but after calling to notify the restaurant they still accommodate us. We were visiting from out of town and didn't have another alternative. We really appreciate the gesture, because we were really looking forward to dining at this restaurant. The food was great and our server (Alisa) provided us with excellent service! The restaurant HVAC system wasn't working properly, but she made sure that we were comfortable.

This is the third anniversary in a row that my wife and I celebrated at Ray’s, and it was not a charm. Not like the first two, at least. The service, the food, the atmosphere is what brought us back twice because Ray’s felt like the kind of place that you establish those types of traditions. But tonight, all three missed the mark, especially the service. Our reservation had one request, “Table by the window, please”. They have a beautiful garden that you can’t see unless you’re on the glass, the sunshine is on your table as the sun sets, it’s a beautiful experience. The reservation was for 5:30. Pleasantly vacant before the dinner rush, so there were many window tables available. The blonde hostess sits us at a deep, 4-person booth. Confused, I sit 6 feet across from my wife, all the blonde hostess, would it be possible to sit at a window table as we requested. You work in a nice restaurant. Your response shouldn’t be, “Um…I don’t have servers for those tables for another 15 minutes, soooo….” Walked away. That set the tone. From there, the server attempted to restore our spirits by suggesting we slide back until we’re side by side at the back of the booth. Don’t usually slide and scoot when I’m wearing a suit, but what the hell. It was a good suggestion, but the booth was not the proper setting, I felt like a spectator, and we just didn’t connect with the dining experience tonight, which is unfortunate when you’re trying to celebrate a special occasion. I did speak to a manager about our experience. He said he’d use it as a “coaching opportunity” and invited us back, but we’ll see.

Mike is a fantastic manager, and he took excellent care of us. The head host, Olivia, was incredibly kind and welcomed us with a positive attitude. Tylor and Brittany, our servers, were really educated and responsive, and they all helped to make our night truly special. We ate salmon, crab cakes, mussels, Oscar stakes, and they were all excellent. Without a doubt, I'll return for more incredible cuisine and experiences.

Once again, our standing Tuesday date night experience at Rays on the River was amazing. First of all, when we pulled up to the restaurant, the Valet, Adrian, opened my door and said so pleasantly, “Welcome Back”. I said back to him, “so you remember us coming last Tuesday?” He said, “Yes, because you two are unforgettable !” REALLY????? Flattery will get you everywhere, Adrian. We went inside and headed to the bar to partake of their Happy Hour drink and oyster specials. We sat at the far end that looks back out to the river. It’s a lovely secluded and cozy nook. Soon a very dapper gentleman came up and asked if we would like something to drink. We asked him if our favorite Grey Goose Martini maker, Ava, was on duty. He said yes and that she should be right back. We chatted with him for a bit and found out his name is Derrick and he is the Service Manager. We told him how much we love to come on “Tini-Tuesdays” and what great bar service both Ava and Troy always give us. They are the best at what they do and we appreciate them very much. We ended up ordering a dozen oysters on the half shell for each of us and they were served on a bed of ice with the crackers, spicy cocktail sauce and garnished with gem lettuce leaves. They were plump, fresh and utterly delicious and at $1.50 per oyster they are one of the best Happy Hour deals in town. We also ordered a Modern Steakhouse Wedge salad and 2 lobster tails to share which were very tender and served with drawn butter. Our final course was another one of our go to desserts, their subtly sweet creme brûlée. We were also very happy to have Bryson Rudd, Assistant General Manager, on duty and come by to say “Hi” since we missed him the previous Tuesday as he was off. He always makes us smile with his wittiness. We simply cannot give enough compliments about the exquisite food and service we receive each and every time we visit Rays on the River. We can’t wait to return again.
