We visited this restaurant for the first time on Mother's Day. The menu was not available. They were serving a buffet style menu that was very much limited. The inclusion of "breakfast" food items on an evening meal (6 pm) was unnerving. The menu had no cohesion, flavor or appeal. The total cost for the meal was way overpriced for what was offered. Had I realized this was going to be the situation from the start we would have not used our reservation. While the overall aesthetics of the restaurant were very pleasing, the view of the river, lighting and cleanliness was very nice, we would not choose eat here again after this experience.

This is one of my favorite places to eat, and I was able to finally take my mother here for mother's day. She absolutely loved it and can't wait to come back!

Mother's Day Brunch forced a buffet upon us was ok at best was quite a mess food all over the floor. Guests clearly thought they were at a budget hotel for breakfast best described the ambiance. For $490, I expected a lot better.

Mother’s Day Disappointment Absolutely NOT worth the money. For Mother’s Day, the only option was the brunch buffet. The food was mediocre at best and not a great representation of Rays (as I have had it in the past). Nearly everything was dry and bland. Many of the items were cold or lukewarm from sitting on the little tin burners. I left hungry and irritated that we paid $85/person. The meat options: extremely rare prime rib, ham, salmon, crab cakes, sausage, bacon, shrimp and oysters The veggies: green beans, honey carrots, salad Sides: Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, bean soup Breakfast: waffles, eggs, biscuits, toast Assorted cheese, crackers, and fruit, Desserts: chocolate mousse, bread pudding, pound cake, carrot cake, chocolate chip cookies

I thought that set menu was expensive and there was not enough items to choose from for the price!! I have been before and it was amazing but the Mother’s Day Brunch as not up to par!! And kids cost at $42 for 6yr old was not good either!! Very disappointing!

Ray’s is a beautiful restaurant, the problem is that not all tables have a good view so you have to specify that when you make a reservation if not they’ll sit you in the addition that looks and feels like a garage or another table next to the kitchen. The food was ok, the charcuterie meats were not the best quality, the oysters were good but they didn’t provide the vinegar that comes with them when you order on a normal day, in general Ray is better when is not a Holiday. I won’t be back for a while.

Table was situated next to the Mother’s Day brunch layout. We were constantly being bumped by people going back and forth. People waiting in the bar area were crowding around our table. The food was good but the value for the price just wasn’t there. Somewhat of a letdown for Mother’s Day.

Highly disappointed in the Chef’s Choice for the evening which was Grilled, roasted or grilled, (couldn’t tell) The Branzino stuffed with blue crab was recommended by the server and since they were pushing it, I thought I couldn’t go wrong. And at $55 it had to be good. Both the fish and stuffing were bland, lacked seasoning therefore rendered tasteless and unrecognizable. Didn’t taste like bass or halibut. The blue crab stuffing was promised to be akin to Baltimore Blue Crab. I’ve had a ton in my day in the DMV. This was tasteless. I tried a piece of the blue crab cake that came with my husband’s Seafood Platter and it tasted the same as the one stuffed in my Bronzino. His salmon was bland as well. I asked the server for salt as there was none present on the table. No improvement adding a smidgeon of salt to my dismay. I sent the Branzino back and opted for Key Lime Pie to-go for dessert. There was only the essence of Key Lime present and a ton of whipped fluff. The servers were great. I walked away thinking, “Wow the ambience was better than the food.” I hadn’t been there in years and being Atlanta (not known for great food) it’ll be years before I return.
