Great lunch with a friend .
Lovely restaurant with a beautiful view. Table spacing is tight and pricing is steep, but, you get what you pay for!! Not an everyday place, but for special occasions no place better.
We had a great experience at Ray's on the River celebrating a birthday and staff luncheon. Jessica and Ali were great servers and made sure we were well tended to. Thank you for an enjoyable and delicious experience.
Excellent service. Their method of assigning two servers to each table works very well. Food and drinks were excellent.
Beautiful place. I’ve actually had better steaks elsewhere but my husband enjoyed the scallops. Wait staff was great and very attentive.
We went for our anniversary while in Atlanta for the weekend. I had read that the restaurant was considered one of the 50 most romantic restaurants in America in a recent article by either Conde Nast or USA Today and booked our reservation. There was nothing inherently bad but neither was the food memorable or interesting. The quality of the ingredients seemed high, but everything we ordered lacked any seasoning or flavor especially the mediocre crab cakes(I have had significantly better crab cakes at several restaurants). I was especially disappointed when the waiter brought a complimentary dessert to the table next to us for their anniversary but offered us nothing even though he was aware that it was our anniversary too. Overall this was a disappointing experience, especially considering how much we spent. I wouldn't recommend this mediocre restaurant to anyone, it is grossly overrated.
Awsome place food and service topnotch. Will recommend this to friends and family.
First time here at this location. Previously visited the Killer Creek location. First I notice was the valet parking service which was A+. I truly enjoyed the atmosphere. Each location has its own unique vibe. And the steaks were PERFECT.
Ali provided awesome service
Wonderful experience! My Party of Three enjoyed a small table right up against the glass with full view of the beautiful River.
My mother’s 70th birthday dinner.
Thanks for making my mother's birthday a special one
SUPERB!!!!
The hot seafood tower was absolutely amazing. Be sure to pair it with a glass of bubbles. The cocktails were great but our favorite was definitely the Manhattan. Our server Christina was awesome. We placed our complete order at once and she coursed it out beautifully. The clearing, remarking, and pacing of the meal seem like small details, but when executed well they have a great impact on the dining experience as a whole. Christina nailed the entire experience. She made our special evening delightful and carefree. Go for the delicious food, keep going back for the elevated service and care.
Wow great food great service
My side dish was over salted they took it of the bill. Waiter was friendly but forgot the bread with the appetizers.
Furniture is old and used up. My seat was sat trough and very unconformable.
It is okay but for sure far away from 5 star review
Although the time between our order and the food arriving was longer than I preferred, our server was fantastic and kept us laughing. Once the food arrived, all dishes were hot, fresh and very flavorful. We never felt pressured or rushed as we were there for our company holiday lunch.
I would suggest showing up 15 min prior to your reservation with your entire party and then check into the front desk. Otherwise, you may be waiting for 15 to 30 minutes past your reservation time to be seated.
As a note, if you have a shellfish allergy do not eat anything that is fried, the same fryer is used.
The restaurant was cold and dark. The food and servers are so so.
From the moment we stepped out of the car, the staff at Ray's on the River was gracious, thoughtful, professional. The food was hot and delicious. The manager came by our table twice making sure all was well.
The food is typically very good but last night was a huge disappointment. Our entrees came out lukewarm. I had the grouper and there was a very bad odor to the fish. The taste of the fish was so bad that I only ate 2 bites. I didn’t say anything because I eat here often. I just assumed this was an off night for the chef. I hope they do better in the future.
We loved the ambience. Our waitress, Ashley, was very attentive. The caesar salad was great, filet was good, the halibut was tasteless even after 2 tries.
This is the 2nd time I have been and the 1st time experiencing the buffet.....food was great and our server was even better!!
Great Location!
Engagement! She said YES 🎉
The ambiance was very good. Service was also excellent. We were a little early but were seated right away.
We ordered two entrees and two sides. The 3 cheese Mac and cheese was delicious as was the potato au gratin. The grouper was very small, but tasted fine. The bed of Brussels sprouts were also good. The swordfish was cooked a little too long and on the dry side.
Desserts were excellent (had the brownie sundae and the praline basket).
All of it ran close to $60.00 and we felt it was good value for what we received. Would most likely visit again for lunch.
We had a very long wait. 2,5 hrs for a simple lunch at a not very busy time. Fish was very overcooked.
Rays is the best on the river.
We did not know up front that we would have a buffet meal. would never have chosen that.
We had two elderly people with us. I feel the restaurant was overbooked(had to wait a while) and we refused to be seated in "the tent". We LOVE your restaurant but would NOT repeat it for Thanksgiving.
We had a 6:15 p.m. reservation and we weren’t sat until after 7:00 p.m. although the food was great it ruined the whole experience.
We had resos for 615 with a toddler in tow. Arrived and said 30 minute delay. We get it it’s thanksgiving. However we weren’t seated till 718. Completely not ok. Don’t overbook. Then by the time we had dinner they had run out of certain items.
As a military spouse we made a reservation to go with my husband and kids to have our first thanksgiving dinner away from home. The reservation was at 6pm and we waited almost two hours to be seated. We drove two hours to get to this place from where my husband is stationed at. I was hoping to have a nice dinner and make it a memorable one. However, this was not my experience. The server was not to be found for about 10 minutes after we were seated, the host didn’t tell us where the buffet was. We had to request someone to come serve our drinks. I asked for a glass of champagne and he was never around for me to request another. The place was about to close, we were rushing to eat and we didn’t get to enjoy the food and eat as we wished. We were told we were going to be seated at 6:15. We were there at 5:30. it is important to value your customer time and make an effort to make things happen. My kid was still eating when the serve asked if we were done and wanted the check. It was just very inappropriate, he didn’t even get to eat dessert. Overall I don’t like to write reviews especially bad ones, but I felt the need for future customers to know what to expect especially on holidays. Very disappointed to have taken my family to eat here.
So our table was booked for 6pm but they were running late and so we didn't get called till 6.45. Little annoying but hey its Thanksgiving and they are really busy.
Got called and went off to our table but then the manager discovered that someone had taken the table, so we were left for a few more minutes till he found a new table. He apologized and all was good.
Food was fab and a great selection of meats, side dishes, breads, pastries and desserts. Loved the fact that they had an omelette station as well as a waffle one.
Just finishing desert and the manager came over to apologise again for the seating issue, which was really nice. He then offered us a free brunch for 2 !!!!
Now the apology would have been fine and if he had offered to pay for the 2 drinks we had then i would have been very pleased but to give us a card for brunch was just amazing.
Superb customer service that exceed my expectation.
Thank you.
We had a reservation for 6PM on Thanksgiving. Arrived just before 6 but were not seated until 7PM. What's the point of a reservation if you have to wait an hour. Unacceptable in my opinion. Yes the food was good, but it just wrecks the evening when you have to wait that long. I can't believe that the management can't figure out how to take a few less reservations during the peak times so that everyone doesn't have to wait for an hour. Poor job on the part of the restaurant management.
So yes, I'd recommend the restaurant for the food, but not during a holiday.
We waited over an hour past our reservation time which normally would result in a poor review but this was Thanksgiving Day and the restaurant was packed. Ultimately, the meal was wonderful. Our severs, Charles and Justin were attentive and pleasant.
I’d not been to Rays in a very long time and decided to take my family for the Thanksgiving Buffet. We’ve been to several other restaurants for Thanksgiving in the past so in comparison the wait time for our reservation was the biggest disappointment. We were told they were running 20minutes behind but we weren’t seated until at least 45min past our reservation time. The waiting area was a zoo. Inadequate seating and space for too many people. Hardly room to stand. Pagers weren’t provided so someone had to wait inside at all time rather then enjoying the view by the river. We’ve never encountered this with any of the other restaurants we’ve had reservations for on Thanksgiving and it was an unpleasant surprise. Once seated, our waitress was good and most of the food was very good thankfully. Due to chaotic reservation, waiting area and very delayed seating will not be back for another Thanksgiving.
Went for thanksgiving had a 4:15 reservation but didn’t sit down until after 5pm. They did give complimentary mimosas and green juice during the wait which was nice however with a older person with limited seating it was uncomfortable toward the end. Our server was great with suggesting wine and cocktails and the food was really good. Brunch options and the traditional fixings were available late in the day which was nice to have.
30-60 minute wait today for table with a reservation. The restaurant over-committed today
Excellent Thanksgiving Day Brunch!!
Fabulous food! Great table.
Thank you for a great Thanksgiving! I've been to Ray's on the River before for Thanksgiving but this year i was able to take both grandparents. They (we) enjoyed everything! Looking forward to Thanksgiving 2020.
