Very nice experience, 5 starts Resturant
Great food and awesome drinks
Overall I enjoyed this restaurant had an excellent meal great drinks and felt very comfortable The staff was very friendly and attentive would recommend to anyone downtown
So pleased with the sea food platter - also the service was outstanding!
Wonderful Service,Food and ambience!
Nothing more than amazing server food was great. It was part of my 52nd birthday celebration
Great food. Great service. Glad to be in the back room because the bar area was quite loud.
Great as usual.
Probably one of the best cuts of steak I've ever had. My wife usually doesn't eat salmon and she decided to get it and she enjoyed it. Her cocktail was well made. Everythong was was as pricey as we expected but worth it.
My fiancé and I really enjoyed our meals. We will most definitely go back for another date.
Food was over priced. Had a large party of 8. Server would not come to table often. Didn’t receive bread until our food came while other tables around us received bread. Server stated they are known as a steakhouse but obviously the chef is new because medium steak was requested. Instead my steak was so tough I could barely cut through it with the steak knife. Manager came over and took the steak back and then brought be a medium rare steak. The manager even stated I told them to undercook it a little. WHY? I want a medium steak period! Wanted desert but by the time the server came back she already had our tickets printed. Would not recommend this restaurant. Try Sweet Georgia Juke Joint instead!
Raise in the City does not have the same quality as other Ray’s restaurant
My wife and I came for our anniversary. The restaurant was very accommodating, service was excellent and the food superb!! Would definitely recommend and go again!!!
Amazing Food and service. We try to eat at Ray's anytime we are in Atlanta and especially during the merchandise market. Our server Bakary was very attentive and professional. Please send him our thanks.
Wonderful meal, and wonderful waiter, Troy, who was super! We felt pampered.
I've eaten at Ray's on the River, and now at Ray's in the City. Ray's on the River has the scenic views hands down, but Ray's in the City offers excellent service and food that is prepared to perfection. I ordered a large filet that melted in my mouth. Sides of mashed sweet potatoes and lobster risotto were exquisite. Our server was friendly and quick to get our food ordered and out even when the place was full. The only draw back to Ray's in the City is that the dinner room is small and pretty loud. That said, I'd go back again anytime.
Pento and his team were fantastic. I always ask for recommendations and they did not hold back on offering us great ideas opinions. We loved the experience and the food was fantastic!
Being an individual that cooks and is paying$50 for a steak it should be up to par. I was extremely disappointed. Gumbo was burnt. Crab cakes pretty decent. The ribeye was disappointing, filet mignon was ok. Garlic Spinach bland. I was really expecting a better experience. Not pleased with management, he didn't really address this issue i guess his apology was supposed to be sufficient. Thumbs down over here!
Food was delicious, service was great. It was definitely a little warm in the area of the restaurant we were in but overall we had a wonderful experience!
The four of us thought that our meals were among the best we have ever had. Two of us had Lamb chops with Lemon farro and the other two had grouper. We had sides of baked cauliflower, Mac and cheese and mushrooms. Good wine list and appropriately priced. Everything was just fantastic! The ambiance was fine but nothing to rave about but the food was the highlight. When on business travel we try to avoid the big chains. Saw this on Yelp. We all highly recommend Rays in the City.
A long time customer of Rays - they’re never a disappointment! Great service / great menu / just a great Atlanta tradition!
Great food and service! Very noisy though.
We had a great experience at Ray’s in the City! We each tried something different and it was all amazing! We had filet mignon with mashed sweet potatoes as brussel sprouts, salmon Oscar style with asparagus and mashed potatoes, and scallops with risotto. Highly recommend!
I visited Ray's in the City for a birthday brunch. The service was impeccable. I had the lobster dish, which was overly salted (highly unusual for my palet), but the birthday honoree had the seafood skillet which he enjoyed completely. Overall, the experience was nice and I would love to return for the dinner experience.
Overall, this place was a huge disappointment. This was a birthday celebration, and while the food was okay (not great, but okay) the service was abysmal. We, a table of two, were clearly an afterthought to the waiter. While the tables around us got what I would consider basic service for a nice restaurant, we got "what do you want to drink?", "You ready?" etc. We had to ask about the specials, and wave him down a number of times. We were told "thanks for your patience" but nothing about why we'd had to wait. The steak, which I ordered medium was closer to well. I didn't send it back because I didn't want to wait. That's on me. However, our waiter clearly had no interest in waiting on us. I always leave a 20% tip minimum, usually more, but I couldn't bring myself to do it this time. Our wait spoke perhaps a dozen words to us the whole time, not including "thanks for your patience".
I’ve dined in New Orleans and all along the gulf coast, and this was the best gumbo EVER. Great menu, superb service, and live blues/jazz made for a great night.
I was in Atlanta for work and my SO decided to come in for the weekend. I wanted to take him out to a nice dinner and found Rays in the City because of my location in downtown ATL, and my search for good seafood. I made a reservation for 7:15 on Saturday night. We arrived a little early, but were seated promptly. The waitress was very attentive to our needs, and if she was busy, there was always someone in the section refilling waters and making sure we were taken care of. We shared the calamari as an appetizer. It was good, probably would try something different the next time though. As the main course, my SO and I both had the broiled seafood platter and it was delicious! The scallops melted in your mouth, the crab cakes were made with real, lump crab meat, the shrimp were well seasoned and the potatoes were amazing! The lobster was a little chewy but had great flavor. Prior to our visit, I was a little cautious of the prices. After my visit, I still think they’re a little high ($13 for a glass of Riesling) , however, I would definitely return. If you’ve got somewhere to be, give yourself at least two hours for dinner so you can fully enjoy your food and the ambiance. Great food, great drinks, great music.
We were late for our reservation by 2 hours due to some unexpected circumstances but they got us right in. The service was wonderful, the wine list was nice and the food was amazing.
Jason is a courteous and knowledgeable server. He made our meal fun, and supplied all of our needs. We will return!
Snappy waitress, marta station hang out for street walkers, filthy dish ware, never got a chance to eat the food.
Hostess was rude and spouted attitude when asking about the wait even ( we had a reservation) . Got sat in the loud bar area even though I had made a reservation a week earlier. Waitress was friendly and apologetic for the wait. Drinks were good. Food was good.
Great time! Ray’s never disappoints!
Overall a great experience but a couple of things for the restaurant to consider :
1. We were shown to our table right away but then it took longer than an acceptable amount of time before a wait staff came to see us.
2. The muddle row of tables in the small room to the left of the front door should be straightened and only used for two people. Being at that first table, every time someone walked by, I would get slightly bumped.
3. In Georgia, yet there was no “peach” dessert of any kind. That was the biggest disappointment.
Highly recommend the bourbon sweet potatoes.
This was my husband’s and my first experience. We have heard excellent things about this restaurant and they far exceeded our expectations. The servers were friendly and knowledgeable. The drinks and food were amazing. Worth the cost!
Unfortunately when my boss showed up at Ray's they did not have a reservation for him. When he returned to the office he asked if I had made them. I pulled out my confirmation and showed him the reservation, correct date and time. Not sure why the restaurant did not have the reservation.
Ray’s was very nice the servers were great. Food was really good couldn’t even eat all my food
We had a large group of 8 or 9 and they we very accommodating to us. Our servers were very knowledgeable and wonderful to talk with. The food was amazing and cooked just right. Overall, we all had an amazing experience.
Was great food. Seafood was awesome! Highly recommended! If ever back travelling through Atlanta will stop again.
