Ray's in the City Ratings and Reviews
Waiter was terrible.
- we chose a bottle of wine only for him to come back and ask us which wine it was we ordered a few mins later, and then 5mins later told us it wasn't chilled and would take 25mins to be ready.
- sushi was so-so.
- we waited 40mins for entree. When food arrived wife's dish was wrong and my steak wasover cooked.
The manager did approach our table and was very helpful, and had dishes out quickly. Food was very nice. Sadly, the Waiter never apologized and ignored our table for a while probably out of embarrassment.
As it was a special occasion and for all the hassle the manager comped the meal which was very generous. We had high expectations for the place, but sadly let down by waiter.
We attend the Atlanta Gift Markets and always try to eat at Ray's while we are there.
Ray's did not disappoint us.
It is our favorite. Great variety of delicious options on the menu and all prepared very well.
We enjoyed the Salmon Oscar and the Gumbo soup along with your signature dessert.
We are always impressed with the quality of your staff and for how busy you are, they again took great care of us. Were seated with in minutes of our reservation time on a busy Saturday night, which was greatly appreciated.
Ray's gets our highest recommendation.
Chopped Cobb salad was very disappointing. Iceberg lettuce with little of the ingredients that were listed on the menu. Asked if the California roll was made with real crab meat. Waiters attitude was how dare I ask that of “Rays”?! But indeed was made with imitation crab. But he did go out of his way to have it made with the real stuff. Everything else was good. Service was timely.
I absolutely adore Rays in the City. I have traveled the country, and never found another crabcake that is made as well or tastes as good as what I have received at Rays. The calamari is to die for. Best I’ve had!! We come here every single year when we go to market multiple times. I can’t get enough.
We made a reservation and we were sat directly by the front door. It was freezing in Atlanta! We froze every time the front door opened and closed. It made the meal very unenjoyable especially considering the prices we were paying. The waiter was MIA a lot of the time, service lacking.
I look forward to eating at Ray’s every market (Jan/July). The service in awesome. The staff is knowledgeable about their menu and willing to work to get anything needed. My food is always cooked to specification! I tell everyone to eat there while visiting Atlanta....it’s delicious!!!
Business dinner for four. A little behind on reservations but delay handled well by staff. Great service with excellent recommendations. Food fantastic, wine very good for reasonable price. Overall exceptionally fine experience. Will definitely plan my next Atlanta dining experience here! Kudos to all at Ray’s!
We come here whenever we are in Atlanta because it is is reliably outstanding food and service. Everything I have ever tried I have loved and the atmosphere is lively and celebratory even if it's after a day of business. The servers and the staff are exceedingly attentive.
Bobby’s attitude with us was negative. He forgot salads, sides, and did not refill drinks. My steak was over cooked. One of our guests had their left overs to go and went to eat it for lunch and she had someone else’s leftovers. We always went to Rays during the mart and we were so disappointed...They were so busy I didn’t want to bother management but we were very disappointed.
This was not my first visit to Ray’s in the City. We come to ATL four times a year to work America’s Mart. Often we eat here because it is convenient and I always leave with the same attitude. Food and service are OK, just not stellar for the prices charged. Servers are not personable nor do they seem like they care as you become just another number to serve efficiently and they get to turn another table.
This was our first time at a Ray's restaurant (in the city, on the river, and one other...) We enjoyed ourselves very much. Our waiter did seem like he had better things to do. It took quite a while for my drink to arrive, let's just say that. The food we had was very good. Overall, it was a good experience - great food, great music, great company. Our waiter just didn't seem to love his job too much that evening.
A friend insisted I try Ray's while I was in Atlanta. I am glad I did. My food was delicious, crab cake and a salad with dried cranberries. My waiter suggested a moderately priced white wine - which was delicious. The entire staff was friendly, professional and knowledgable. They had live music which was fun to hear. I would definitely return on my next return to Atlanta
Ray’s always delivered a great experience and did not disappoint. Broiled sea food platter is my favorite. Had it blackened this time. Lunch portion is just enough. Hate that seafood bisque was not available at lunch. Wife said chicken sandwich was really good too. Can’t wait until next Ray’s experience.
