The food was good, our waitress was very good, the wine steward couldn't open our wine and spilled it on the table
Service was very good. My filet was wonderful but coworkers bone-in rib eye was tough. All sides and wine were excellent. Noise was on high in
Really enjoyed it! Plan to make another trip and visit the other Ray locations!
Excellent! From the front desk staff, to wait staff to, of course, the food! Thank you for being there!
Absolutely perfect!! We dine there for the gift and apparel mart twice each year and every experience from service to a delicious meal are impeccable! Thank you Ray’s In The City!!
We had 8:15 reservations and were finally seated at 8:35. The waitress was excellent and the food above average. It was extremely noisy which made conversation difficult (even for our small party of four). Desserts were exceptional. The butter cake and red velvet are some of the best I've had.
We were in town for America’s mart which makes all restaurants in the area very busy so we had made reservations far ahead for 7:30. We arrived just over 10 min early but ended up waiting 45 min. I was agitated as I had checked in 3x w the hostess, so assumed she had looked at me, but when I inquired the final time she apologized as she had given our table to another reservation similar to ours with the same last name & two diners. So not only did she not realize it was not the same person she did not confirm who the person was - she and I were aware there were two parties w the same name. That said, aside from this, the rest of the service was excellent as was the food. Ray’s staff offered free appetizers and an apology which was wonderful but they did a “plus one” by giving a voucher for a free dessert on a subsequent visit. We were happy w the acknowledgement and apology for our agitation but the management of the rest was fantastic.
It was an outstanding meal. Service was good. Everything arrived at the table hot.
Food was wonderful but the service was, unexpectedly, not up to their usual standards. We love Rays but they were not on their game tonight. Chalking it up to being during market. Will be back though.
Was seated between 20 and 25 minutes after our reservation. Reservation was strategically scheduled to attend an event afterward. Made for a rushed feeling.
Service was excellent. Food was delicious. Portions were adequate. My only complaint was that I ordered the parmesan scallops dinner. There were three decent sized scallops, parmesan risotto, and a parmesan crisp... The first two scallops were devine. The third contained large grains of sand. When I bit into it my mouth was full of gritty sand. It is apparent this scallop was not properly washed. It was a little disappointing, especially since there were only 3 of them. The appetizer (fried pimento cheese balls) was excellent, my husband got the broiled seafood platter which was tremendous, we also go the brussel sprouts and cauliflower which were perfectly cooked and seasoned. We both ordered a desert and they were very good. My dessert portion was a little too much for one person. I ordered the buttercake (it was DELICIOUS) My husband ordered the praline basket - also very good. If it weren't for the scallop, it would have been a perfect meal.
From January 10-19 I ate there 8 times, brought numerous clients . All loved it
Manager Mr.Sullivan a fabulous manager . Polite and kind and very efficient .
I hope to return again next January
This was our third time here this week and today was the busiest we have seen. We had to wait for our reservation but the service, smiles and food made up for it.
Great atmosphere! Our waitress was amazing. Food was delicious
We had an amazing evening with our best friends. Our server, Mercury, was so good. He was so accommodating and made our night the best ever. We are still talking about how delicious our food was!
Excellent service and best seafood around.
Love this place! I always make a point to eat here when we come to Atlanta. LOVE LOVE the Pralines dessert!
Rarely do I feel that I must write a review of a restaurant, but this is one of those times.
I am in Atlanta on business for a week and have had dinner at Ray's in the City every single night. Somehow, despite the fact that they are super booked and incredibly busy, they make me feel special, welcome and at home. They smile. They seems to smile at everyone, no matter their position, which is so fundamental to the success and attraction of any restaurant.
Their ambiance is warm, the lighting is warm and perfect, the music is live and pleasing. The staff seem that they have worked their forever - I see them year after year - and they smile, they are intelligent, and they care.
It is remarkable to see such a well oiled machine caring for so many with such excellent service and warm regard.
It's my home away from home and I enjoy it every single time I am there, which is typically 6-7 nights per year when in Atlanta for my annual business trip.
One more thing - the perspective is that I reside in Washington DC where I am accustomed to amazing restaurants.
Ray's in the City is special. And their manager Drew always makes one feel especially welcome and at home.
Friendly staff, punctual seating, excellent waitress (Jamie’s) , delicious food. We’ll be back.
The quality and taste at Ray’s is never a disappointment. Bloody Mary’s from the bar we’re perfectly spicy and the breads a nice pre meal snack. Our waiter was not having the best night. Service was slow and inattentive which is not typical for this establishment. I’ll be back to satisfy my tastebuds.
Ray's never disappoints! Although we have only ever been there for lunch - I can't image dinner would be any different. A must when eating downtown Atlanta.
This Place is AMAZING and to find out the Chef is from New Orleans MY CITY🤗🤗🤗 I just knew I would be served the BEST FOOD EVER!! BEST TASTE EVER!! BEST QUALITY EVER!!! Our server (Danielle) was AWESOME!! Such an amazing spirit and very well mannered. The New Orleans BBQ Shrimp is amazingly delicious 😋 The Salmon was well cooked and flaky😋😋😋 I would have thought Chef Gordon Ramsey was in the Kitchen!! Overall everything was amazing!! I’ll continue to visit this Place as long as they continue to
Keep up this great service.
The lobster bisque is delicious. The broiled seafood platter provides an excellent selection and the crab cake is mostly crap. The sides are also delicious, especially the mashed potatoes and crispy brussel sprouts and cauliflower.
I have eaten at Ray's in the City once a year for the last few years and this year the service and food were just not the same! They also dropped Sushi from the Menu which was my favorite thing!
Exceptional service and the meal is always outstanding
Jesus is the best waiter, been requesting him for 5 years, never disappoints with food and service.
Phillip and Faith managers were very attentive to detail and met all of our requests. I have been been coming to Rays once a year for the Gift Mart for 15 years, and this is always on my stop! Food is always fantastic but the service has me always coming back! Make this a must do when in Atlanta!
I have been going to Ray's for years. Usually during the gift and Rug Market at the America's Mart. This time was a little crazy and very busy, although I have seen worse. Our waiter was a real pro and did an excellent job of pointing out specials, good deals and plenty of options. Anytime you can buy a premium wine for just slightly over retail in a busy popular restaurant, it's a win. Ray's had several, usually very expensive wines for just slightly more than a wine store, instead of the usual double or triple retail. There was a slight problem with a sticky wine glass that the manager took care of very quickly. The service was fabulous the food was fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The slight mishap was cleared up so quickly, I almost didn't notice.
This was my second dining experience at Ray’s in the City. My petite filet was superb, cooked a perfect medium rare and very tender. My shared sides were creme brûlée corn and roasted Brussels sprouts & Cauliflower- a perfect accompaniment to my steak. The corn was creamy with a kick of spice and the brussel sprouts roasted to a crispy bites with lovely caramelized onions. For dessert, the wonderful Red Velvet Cake which I didn’t think I needed until I took the first bite. Our waiter made lovely suggestions and was attentive but not overly so. One of the best meals I’ve had in quite a while.
The lunch steak salad was phenomenal. My biz colleague had the glazed salmon with kale and quinoa. All delicious. Only bad thing if there is a conference there is NO parking under $20. Won’t make that mistake again.
The prices are extremely high. The person who brought the food to the tables didn’t know his table numbers, and repeatedly tried to bring us other peoples’ food. When I asked the price of the special ($47) the server made a face. The customer next to us had to borrow our salt and pepper, because he didn’t have any. I would expect more from a restaurant with menu items in their range.
Service was awesome and it seemed like the servers worked in groups to create a really attentive service. Super friendly and down to earth servers. The food was amazing and didn’t need anything added for flavor. Outstanding chefs! We always enjoy dining with this restaurant after a long, long, day at Atlanta Market!
Waiter was a little slow getting to our table but was spot on after that. Blackened seafood platter was awesome!!
Eat here every time I’m in town.
Love the food and the service
Been drinking Manhattans for almost 40 years... our bartender John made the best one ever!! A very memorable experience - thanks John!
I have eaten at Ray's twice a year for years when I come to Atlanta for Market. Over the years, the the restaurant has declined in quality of food & service. This year, I made my reservations for 4 a number of weeks ahead...we arrived early before our 6:00 time...we were seated in a booth in the BAR for dinner...we could not even talk for the noise...plus, we were right next to the entertainment, & I mean so close I could touch them by reaching out my hand. I have learned my lesson that one should specify the area of the restaurant in which to be seated. We had to wait for our check far too long after finishing even though we asked twice for it. The Caesar salad was overpriced for the quality & quantity of food...very little dressing. I did not order a regular entree because I didn't want to spend a large amount of $ for an overpriced entree eating where I could not enjoy my dinner or talk to my friends. I'm undecided that Ray's in the City will remain on our list!!
We always come to Rays when we are here for market every year (at least twice each time!) It’s always great food and great service.
Very limited menu except for seafood. No non seafood appetizers. Wanted the Ahi tuna but told it was not available even though we were in the first seating if the night. Settled for honey glazed salmon that had no honey glaze. Wife enjoyed her seafood platter although we had to have another substitution.
My Birthday celebration was wonderful, all because of our experience at Ray’s in the City. Our server was Troy, who was very helpful with the menu, courteous, and attentive.
Food is always excellent... waited about 25 min beyond our reservation! Excellent service!!
Food and service we're excellent. They messed up our reservation and sat us in the bar. We missed on what could have been a great overall experience.
