Very accommodating, waitress Allaya (sp?) was absolutely wonderful. Food was to die for!!! You don’t want to miss a trip to Rays. It was pricey but so worth it!!
We ordered the large seafood tower to share with 4 people as an appetizer. It was expensive, but delicious. It took over 20 minutes to make it which was fine. We were at a small table, but we managed. What was not fine was that they brought our entrees out way too early and tried to serve them before we finished with the seafood tower. There was no place on the table for the entrees, so we asked that they be brought back once we finished with the tower. Unfortunately they put our entrees somewhere where they continued "cooking" and they were all over done and dried out. There were only 4 of us, not 5 and the bill without the tip was over $525!
Mother's Day Buffet was perfect!. My daughter and I were seated right at our reservation time with no delays. Food on buffet was a perfect blend of selections which left us feeling full but not stuffed. This is the second location I have visited. I highly recommend Ray's and will be visting it again soon.
We attended for a Mother’s Day buffet. The restaurant apparently had not anticipated and planned for the length of time that brunch patrons would sit at their tables. Because the restaurant was severely behind my date and I opted to eat at the bar. The bar staff was amazing!
Mother’s Day celebration with in-laws & family in town from Canada. Buffet options were plentiful and transitioned from breakfast dominant items to lunch/dinner as 3p approached. Everyone enjoyed their meals with Sole and the Salmon Eggs Benedict being favorites. We thankfully were seated in the main area which was conveniently located near the buffet. Though the additional room (just outside of check-in) was well decorated & welcoming, it was odd having guests dodge the crowds at the entrance as they carried their meals back to their tables. Outside of setting up buffet options in that room as well, I don’t know how this issue would be mitigated. All in all, it was a successful celebration.
Rays on the River far superior in every category. Variety of food, service, ambiance much better at Rays 9n the River. Rays in the a City too expensive for the service received whereas I was pleased with the value received at Rays on the River. I was at the Mother's Day buffet.
Great experience for Mother's day. We've done it before and the set up was better this time. Service was great and food was variety was nice.
Great experience for a Mothers Day brunch. The food was delicious and full of flavors...including the cold water items (crab claws, shrimp, clams, etc.). Waffle and omelette stations were definite winners. We had a great table location in the middle of the main room. The ambience and decor was very nice. The service was excellent and we wanted for nothing (except a rollaway bed to sleep when we were done...smile). We have not stopped talking about the meal yet. Thanks for a great experience. We will definitely return.
Always a great time. Great food, great service, great ambiance.
Mother’s Day brunch was amazing! The food was delicious. And the service was excellent!
WE went there for Mother's Day Brunch. We were impressed by the presentation and the variety of the food. Everything tasted great. The servers were excellent despite being busy.
Service great! Food unbelievably delicious! Band outstanding! Parking no problem! A little pricey though. $267.00 dinner for 3 with tip, but overall well worth it!
The food was amazing, best seafood I've had in the city by far.
Our server, Lacion, was outstanding. The entire staff.was very accommodating and professional. The food was excellent. My wife and I both had the filet. Excellent. The fig old fashioned is now my favourite cocktail. I will be back the next time I am in Atlanta.
We had a great lunch with a vast menu. Decided to try the new sushi options. Brittany our server was awesome at helping us choose the right rolls. We went with her selections and were very pleased we took her recommendations over our initial thoughts on what to order. The service was spectacular
I had a wonderful time! Although they were packed, My party and I were still seated within 2 minutes. I had no problem with my reservation and our waitress Janise was spectacular! She recommended some great choices and she was very prompt and never left us waiting! That was the best service I've had in a long time. The live band was great as well.
We typically go to Ray’s on the River but I wanted to try the city. The service is much better at the River and I think the overall food quality is better. My steak did not appear to be well seasoned and was rather bland. We will stick with Ray’s on the River. We have never been disappointed
Food was delicious; service felt rushed
Good. Would have been great my server offered a complimentary dessert because we were celebrating a graduate. I would have gotten this at Rays on the River
We celebrated our daughter's college graduation and it was great. Just one note for your hostess.....my daughter's dad is going through chemo and has lost his hair which he is self-conscious about. Your hostess asked him to remove his hat, so he did. A few minutes later another man came in with his sports hat on and sitting in the same area as us and he had a hat on and was not asked to remove it. Please tell her to not discriminate! It was very obvious! Other than that is was great!
Service and the food was not good at all
Good rest, very busy around 7 pm , very friendly waiter
Date night for my wife’s birthday. Was a great experience. Waitress was a little Green in the menu, she seemed new so we understood. Food was outstanding risotto Cooked to perfection and scallops were perfect.
Ray's delivers consistent excellent food and service at great value. Seafood is always fresh and well prepared and service is excellent
Great food and good service. We had a reservation and were seated at the table on time. The waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly.
Our waiter Mercury was phenomenal. He hand picked our meal and was spot on with his taste and exceptional service. Our new favorite restuarant in Atlanta.
My wife and I enjoyed the entire dining experience at Ray's. Our server was both professional and personable. Unfortunately, I don't remember his name, but we also had the pleasure of speaking with the GM during our time there. Thanks to the staff and particularly our server.
I love the food at Ray's in the City and go there from time to time. However, this time, the noise was terrible. Our server had to lean way into the table for us to hear what she was saying about specials and what we could like to order. It was really bad. On the other hand, the food was great, as usual. Can't you do something about the noise level? The problem was not the live music. it was the noise from everyone talking. The acoustics were terrible. Bottomline for me: I will insist upon a table in the front window section from now on. The back area is impossible to enjoy.
I made a reservation at 7:30, we were seated at 8:15. 45 minute wait. Rays did comp the appetizers. The food was really good. All agreed that the food was delicious. The waitstaff did a pretty good job. The jazz band playing in the background was really good. So good our table left them a nice tip. I recommend going back to Ray's.
Very loud. Very dark. Not the nicest ambience. Delicious food & drink.
Great service. Wonderful food.
We went expecting a different experience. The restaurant is beautiful, the bar is lively, but the service mediocre and the food was disappointing. Everything we had was just ok. Nothing inspiring or creative, nothing that made me want to go back. Goat pimento cheese fritters were ok. I had the broiled seafood platter and it was fine, but not $45 fine. Average at best. They're primarily a seafood restaurant so I was surprised that the fish on the platter was very over cooked. Also, the risotto was the worst I've ever had. It came to the table in a bowl, slightly warm, and so thick you could nearly slice it with a knife. Oh and we had this odd thing happen with the waiter. When we were seated he asked if we wanted anything from the bar. As none of us were drinking that night, we said no and he walked away. 10 minutes later returned to take our order. We did want other drinks besides alcohol and I told him I'd like a gingerale. He quickly ran off, came back with it, and asked to take our order. My husband and adult son also wanted soft drinks. He seemed confused. I don't know what that was about. Maybe he expected us to order those when he asked about the bar? I thought that was a little strange and worth noting. Otherwise he was a decent waiter, but could have been more attentive. Go for the atmosphere, and the bar. There are SO many other places to enjoy fine-dining in Atlanta.
Don’t go if you want to hear yourself think or have a conversation.
Excellent experience as usual. My only suggestion is to provide peanuts and pretzels at the bar. I didn’t want an appetizer before my full meal party arrived. Just a drink and a few nuts would’ve been nice.
The food was the best food I have ever had. and Rachel was the most bubbly, enthusiastic waiter. HIGHLY recommend Ray's. It won't disappoint!
WOW! Ray's in the City delivers on its promise of a fine dining experience. I have been a customer and fan of the Ray's restaurants for years and continue to be so. In my opinion, some of the finest food in the city. Superb service by the service team and great drinks from the bar. This was my first visit to Ray's in the City since the remodel and I have to say that the modern / chic feel is nice, but I really loved the retro feel it used to have. Its much quieter and roomier now so that's a plus. I just really enjoyed the retro feel from before. Like Ray's on the River. In any case, the remodel was nicely done and Ray's in the City remains a top recommendation if your travels take you into The City.
My wife and I had a wonderful evening. Despite an item being added to my final total mistakenly. The management on the next day ensured me that they will refund me for the amount the item costs.
Great spot! Mercury was our server and he was PHENOMENAL! He was engaging and created a real connection with us!
Highly recommend for business meals.
Food was quite good. Server Cameron did a very good job. Noise was DEAFENING and meant my friend and I could hardly hear each other talk.
Sat quickly, fantastic service, great food.
