   The Ray's family of restaurants came very highly recommended to me as I was visiting from out of town for business. I booked a reservation, and we attended an 8pm dinner as a group of 9 on a Monday evening. Normally I wouldn't complain about an experience over a minor issue here or there -- but in this case, there were so many that it made the overall experience pretty unenjoyable. It also made me look bad as the person in charge for coordinating the location. Perhaps attending as a smaller group for personal dining would be better for most, but here's a non-exhaustive list of the minor things that built up for a less-than-ideal experience: We were seated at an awkwardly long table for our group size in a less formal lounge area Drinks/cocktails took an unusually long time to come out After our salads and cold seafood platter came out, it wasn't until another 30mins or so when the other portion of our appetizer finally came out (hot seafood platter) -- and despite an apology from what may have been the GM while waiting, nothing was done about it and we still waited another 15-20 mins before it came out Waitress in training knocked over a full glass of Aperol Spritz on the table Waitress in training spilt wine when pouring it Other filled wine glasses brought to the table had dripped wine on the bottom of them from the carrying tray Main waitress was hard to track down, rarely supervised waitress in training The former made it hard to re-order/refill cocktails and drinks Had to proactively ask for new silverware and plates between meals while clearly they needed to be replaced Large sirloin steak was well overcooked Empty sparkling water was finally replaced but was replaced with a still bottle of water The grouper on the seafood platter was incredibly tiny and the presentation of the dish looked like an afterthought/nonexistent Besides the overcooked steak and not so great espresso martinis, all of the food was tasty, most the other cocktails were well made.

   We are from Chicago. It was our last night visiting lovely Atlanta and we wanted to have a “special” night out. Someone from home had recommended Rays. We took a look at the menu and were sold! I love seafood and my husband is a sucker for a New York. The menu was a perfect combo for us. I started with the she-crab soup. Great flavors. You could really taste the sherry! My husband started with a salad. He ate every last bite! I had a horseradish crusted grouper on top of Brussel sprouts which was so moist and delicious. I added a lobster tail for $28 which was perfect at 7oz. My husband had a New York au poivre with a cognac peppercorn sauce. It was 14 oz! We ordered a side of mac and cheese. It had a few white cheeses in it and was gooey but not sticky. Our server, lily, was delightful never rushing us. We were one of the last table ls there and although we knew it was time to leave, she never rushed us.

   We went here w family prior to show at fox. We liked the interior ambiance and noise level was quiet compared to most restaurants which was important to us. Food was very good. Many fish dishes available. Waiter was excellent really knew his stuff. Very pleasant experience in downtown.

   In town for a conference and it was recommended. Made a 7:30 reservation for 4 was seated at 7:31 and took almost 20 minutes for someone to come over and take drink orders. There were several large parties dining so I definitely understand that they were busy, however a dessert or some other token of apology would have been nice. Olivia was very apologetic for the wait.

   Restaurant was uncrowded, and we had waiter’s undivided attention, seemingly. He was excellent making recommendations on food and wine and deserts. It was our first visit to downtown location. Will be back.

   Whenever I’m in town Rays is always one of my favorite stops for lunch or dinner. Can’t go wrong here for quality food and service.

   My husband and I chose to celebrate our anniversary at Ray's. At least four different members of the staff -- from the hostess and server to other wait staff etc. -- acknowledged our special occasion, which was a very nice touch. The service (from Keith) was stellar. Overall, our meals were very good (Note: the lobster carbonara was tasty, but watery in consistency). My husband still is raving about his gumbo appetizer and scallops with risotto entree. And dessert was magnificent. Our reservation was for early Sunday, just after opening. We practically had the restaurant to ourselves -- very quiet, very intimate. One moderately annoying feature was the little fruit flies I had to continually keep shooing away from my beverage glass. That one thing will NOT prevent us from returning. Overall, a really wonderful afteroon.

   Very good drinks and food, service was a bit slow, but server was friendly. We were at a table in a walkway so not a great table.

    Disappointing. Some tables had white tablecloths while the majority did not. Vegetables overcooked and under seasoned. Service mediocre at best. A table of 16 walked out, wished we had too.
