Reasonably tasty food, not too overpriced for the location, but slow/inattentive service.
The beef burger was too salty. My guest ordered the veggie burger and though it was too salty also. This is the second time I have experienced excess salt in my burger. I hope this can be adjusted.
I liove nearby and like to use this place for late afternoon meet-ups.
As you can see the food was great and the service was terrible. It took us forever to get our food and almost missed our tour.
A surprisingly peaceful, delicious and friendly New Year's Eve dining experience.
We were the first guests at the restaurant (12:00 noon), we had a reservation, and still we had to wait 45 minutes for our food. The quality of the food is not worth the price. Our waitress was very nice but the rest of the people were rude. I asked for ketchup and they never brought it, so I had to go look for it myself.
The food is always artfully prepared without lacking in depth and taste. And the servers are always so genuine and thoughtful. I will go out of my way to eat here if in the mid-Wilshire area.
Food was really good, and servers were on point! The wood fired cauliflower was really nice with its Smokey, charred flavour, and so was the duck breast, which was cooked perfectly.
I am one if your best diners. I always give great reviews. However thus place was horrible. The service was bad. The seat next to a window that was leaking. The food not hot. Just awful. And we enjoy the corporate sponsor patina who is great. But this place does not meet the grade of a patina restaurant.
Pleasantly surprised on this visit that the food service (when the food actually came) was much better than in the past when it seemed to take forever. Waitress and servers were very efficient, as well. Great improvement.
Great waiter . Really long time to get our food and it wasn’t crowded
Creative menu never disappoints; staff describes it all well and service is excellent. If going to LACMA, it could not be a better rest spot for dining and conversation.
I generally love this place but we were promised a table inside on a cold night, while there was a ultra loud jazz concert nearby. I received a call on my way there to tell me that they had forgotten they had booked a private party for the interior space and we would have to sit on the patio.
Food was great. Service was not very good. Had to ask more than once for items and then we got a little attitude.
Price was reasonable since we had a 20% discount.
Wonderful menu and friendly service! I wanted to order one of everything on the menu, but I settled for a pizza funghi misti, which was delicious (but too much crust -- I wish they would make pizza like Roman ones). My husband had a chicken roulade which came with three great vegetables (braised cabbage, kale and something else, very healthy). We had a glass and a half of Riesling. We sat outside, which was very pleasant on a Sunday afternoon. Our server, Kaitlyn, was wonderfully informative and friendly, and the new manager, Francesco, was charming and debonair. We had not been to Ray's in a long time, because our favorite manager, Martin, had moved to Patina. But I am glad we came back.
Great food and service before a screening at LACMA. Very attentive and considerate service as we were on a strict time line for an event. Accommodated vegan guests with no issues and very pleasant on the phone going through those options. Highly recommend.
We just celebrated our 18th anniversary at LACMA and went to Ray's and Stark for wine and appetizers. It's a great place to sit outdoors and they have a good wine selection. The olives and artisan cheeses are fantastic. The service is friendly and not too intrusive. It was a perfect cap to our fun time at LACMA and our tour of the Korean art. The only thing I would change is that I would limit the age of children allowed into the bar area to maybe 10 years and older. People take up the lounge space with strollers and screaming babies. There are also too many toddlers running and screaming in the table area where we were.
I go to Ray's simply because it's in LACMA and I'm going to see an exhibit. But it's going downhill fast.
The food is absurd and overpriced: how about just a decent salad or omelette or sandwich instead of these "clever" dishes or hamburgers soaked in sauce so that you can't pick them up???
It needs a major overhaul. the service is usually terrible!
The food is actually great! I was actually surprise the quality, presentation and taste are all fabulous
Service was curt and inattentive
Chicken was undercooked
Visiting LACMA can be a handful. There’s a lot to see and only so much time. Ray’s is more than a cafe. Ray’s got style and great pizza. This isn’t your typical pizza laden with cheese and processed meats. Really, you need to try Ray’s pizza to understand what a unique experience it is.
My husband and I brought our 2 friends from North Carolina to Ray’s to share a delicious dinner of the cauliflower appetizer, 2 different pizzas, and 2 different desserts. As usual, the service, food, and atmosphere were all great! We lingered inside over our desserts after an unexpected thunderstorm broke out and we felt welcomed, well-fed, and cozy...
It was great to enjoy great food while listening to the wonderful jazz at LACMA. The service was very good.
Great to grab an indoor table for LACMA Jazz night. Music is easily enjoyed inside as well as outside. If you want outdoor seating for Jazz Nights there is a $100 minimum. That seemed very steep, but I guess if you are sitting at a table for 2 hours it is fair. Food here is always good; drinks well made. Would like the pizza crust to be a bit more crispy. Service was a bit slow I think because outdoor service was hectic. However been to Ray's and Stark Bar previously and always enjoyed the atmosphere. Good to have such a fine restaurant on the LACMA property.
The service was great. They heard that it was our anniversary and treated us to a dessert. You can hear the music on Friday nights on the patio at LACMA. This makes for a lovely experience.
Awesome experience. Highly recommend it.
I’ve been here several times, and tried different entrees on each visit - and all have been delicious. There are lots of vegetarian friendly options, and the plating is really beautiful - like you have to take a picture before you eat. The fun water menu is unique, they aren’t cheap, but some are choices I’ve never seen anywhere else. A really great place to have a relaxing meal with a date or friends who enjoy good food that’s just a LITTLE bit fancy!
Fantastic fun for date with husband (and my birthday). Dinner fell on same date as free jazz Friday at LACMA so extra bonus! Meghan the manager is exceptional. Giovanni the waiter was wonderful. Blood Orange Margarita yum. Burger Au jus great. All perfect - highly recommend
Met with my NYC cousins visiting the nearby museums and it was a perfect spot to reconnect and enjoy scrumptious food in a fun setting!
We visited for early small bites and a cocktail on Friday for Summer Jazz at LACMA. We sat outside. It was bustling but the food and service didn’t suffer as a result of that.
No lobster after 5 pm. Server neglected us at times Good pizza
Food was wonderful. We went for the jazz performance
I love this place for the ambiance and the food is good
Wait service is spotty. Servers are not focused, need to be asked for their mugs several times, for order wrong.
The ambience of the indoor dining room needs work. Spare plastic furniture in a rectangular room is unappealing. The overpriced food by the Patina Group is mediocre as usual. The hostess and the wait staff were cheerful.
I come here even if I'm not visiting LACMA - it is that good!
I already sent a review on SATURDAY! You should have gotten it and I want the restaurant to get it. Pls advise if you do not have it. YIKES!
fabulous FOOD & SERVICE. Carmen IS THE BEST SERVER EVER!
The setting in the LACMA courtyard is really nice. However the food was mixed, with some nice salads, quite horrible pesto linguine and deserts that were salty or tasteless. The worst feature was that it took over an hour for all the main courses to be served and the waiter clearly forgot to order one dish. That isn’t ok for lunch at a museum restaurant.
Great good. Good service. Lovely setting.
I go often. The service was the worst I have ever had at a resturant. There is no management and no concern for Guest. I would bet there is no staff training. Brain dead service staff
