we go here when we are at LACMA, as we don't live close. But it's always a treat to eat here, good food, good service, knowledgeable waitstaff.

Simply delightful. Both the waitress and the manager were attentive and genuinely cared. Will definitely return and highly recommend to friends.

Fabulous food & service we were there for dinner before Hockney opening. Came back later wanting dessert & cappuccinos, they were closed but still served us. FABULOUS service & food!

My husband, sister-in-law and I dined @ Rays and Stark Bar on Saturday evening prior to attending the David Hockney reception so we didn't want to eat a heavy meal. We chose to share and prosciutto and arugula pizza and a black kale salad. The pizza and salad were large enough for the three of us to share. The crust was not too heavy and the salad tasted fresh without being overly dressed. I would definitely recommend the restaurant since it's conveniently located @ LACMA.

We were late arriving but had called ahead to be sure they could accommodate us, plus one extra person, and they said “no problem”. We sat exactly where we wanted and had great service, drinks and food. It was perfect!

Poor service, but adequate food. If it were not at LACMA there would be no reason to dine here.

Had a mid-afternoon lunch. We split the wood fired heirloom cauliflower first course. It was quite fabulous, presented on a bed of celeriac pureed in coconut cream with sautéed sage
leaves. It was a very complex and satisfying dish. My wife had the Cali burger and I had the hanger steak with French fries. Both were spectacularly good, but the presentation of the steak was very plain. It deserved better. A ricotta cheese cake and a dark chocolate tart were our deserts. Again they were very good tasting but the presentation was dull and the ice cream was melting on the not-cold plates. It was very quiet inside due to the time of day.

For the first time in many years, the food was disappointing. Pasta was way undercooked (al dente is perfect for me, but this stuff was still hard along the edges) and the meat in the lamb sauce was chewy and stringy. Still a lovely setting and great servers, but usually the food is much better. Hope this was just a bad day in the kitchen.

Ray and Stark’s was a good stop while visiting LaCmA . The service was great and we got lots of water refills which we appreciated since we had taken a long flight to LA. I had a pizza which was good but the Brussels sprouts appetizer was the best.

Service was great; food was very good, but don’t go on a cold night. The automatic doors open and close constantly and let in too much cold air. We’ll go back when the weather is warm!

I always try to use Ray's for luch prior to a visit to LACMA. I've also been using it as a lunch alternative. I think LACMA is doing a fabulous job with its employees and I mean everyone is helpful, courteous, attentive creating a warm and welcomed atmosphere.

It's the location for sure. You cannot beat the fact that it's AT LACMA; so you have an elegant & wonderful location no matter how you look at it. Great place to meet before & after the museum etc.

BUT the service at the bar was terrible and slow AND the wine BY the glass almost 20 dollars?! Are you kidding me?! Are you freaking Kidding?! Wine by the GLASS at $16?1 You MUST be joking! That ALONE will keep us away. You MuST have a normal price for wine by the glass. We went next door to Marie Calendar's instead and got twice to three times the value.

Everything ordered came perfect! My hamburger came as ordered (medium rare). The eggplant dish was perfect blend of tastes, and the Brusselsprout salad was delicious.
I will Definitely return.

A perfect outing, early lunch at R and S which was delightful in every way: fettuccini for my wife which she raved about and shrimp and grits for me...delicious. Then off to Museum hopping. The Chagalls were fascinating.
What a great restaurant in a great spot. A favorite.

As always the food was AMAZING. However, service was spotty. Our waiter greeted us warmly and then scuttled between too many tables. We ended up placing our order with a bus boy, who noted we were sitting and sitting and sitting. We ended up flagging down another bus boy to get the bill after sitting and sitting and sitting.

We walked up to the Hostess and asked if a table were available. The Hostess asked us if we had a reservation. We said no. We could see many empty tables in each section of the restaurant. She said that there was no table available. I walked a few feet away and used my open table app to make a reservation to see what I could get. I got now. I reserved it and walked back. I told her I had a reservation and showed her my reservation and we were seated at a table.
I learned that she only sat people with reservations regardless of availability.
Our waitress was fine. The food was fine if over priced, but we accepted that as a given because of the location.

Friday night from late spring to early fall is open air concert time at LACMA featuring great musicians from all over the country making Ray's and Stark the place to be for an early Friday dinner. On warm evenings dine outside to best appreciate the music but escape to the warmth of their indoor setting on cooler evenings. Considering the nature of the venue, the restaurant offers a reasonable selection of entrees and a good selection of wines to pair them with. For those not into the wine scene there is also an interesting selection of beers and a full service bar offering cocktails for every taste. All in all a very good dining experience on any evening LACMA is open but especially on Fridays during outdoor concert season. A reservation is recommended.

Great service - one of my favorite restaurants for the last 7 years. We were literally the only ones seated inside for the entire meal. Super attentive server with a great attitude.. I just don't think we got checked in on open table for my reservation because I received an open table email saying "sorry we missed you". We were very much there, table of 3. Just got home 20 mins ago.

Food was OK, although $24 for a cheeseburger is a bit dear. We ordered a wine and a beer. The beer never came, until I asked the food server for it. Overall, pretenscious.
