Ray’s and Stark Bar
By far one of my best dinning places to go to . I absolutely love the Chicken Milanese. It's the only entree I get every time. Giovani, the server is always on top of it and just the best. The fresh squeeze grapefruit juice always makes my Greyhound delicious. I love the atmosphere and when the weather is beautiful, it makes the whole dining experience even better.

The ambiance is the restaurant's strength. The service is fine. My companion and I had relatively inexpensive options for lunch, and the server, while polite, conveyed his disinterest in our dining experience. The food, however, is heavy (even the salads). The lightest option I, a vegetarian, could find was a 10" pizza; I left two thirds of it there.
But it's a nice space - open and airy.
The shrimp and avocado salad was awful. The shrimp smelled and was soft and kind of mushy. Sone of the lettuce was fresh but some was not. I ate the avocado and the croutons and covered the shrimp with lettuce. I didn't complain because I was with a group. Usually your food is delicious.
Super tasty food, super potent cocktails, super friendly staff.
This place is absolutely fabulous, and a great unique dining experience in the heart of Los Angeles. During the summer, on Friday nights there is a jazz hour going on and that is absolutely wonderful. The management team and the wait staff are five star here, and the food is really good.
Honestly I can’t say enough good things about the overall experience here, and again the management team in the hostess staff and all the waiters and waitresses are just super nice.
Made my 50th Birthday something special
The food is always excellent here. The service is great as well. They always make you feel so welcome. I had a remarkable shrimp and avocado salad...sounds very simple but it was delicious! It is so fun to have a fine meal and then an afternoon of art and culture. What a treat!

The best thing about Ray's and Stark Bar was Giovanni our server. He is energetic, fun and has a beautiful grasp of all the menu items including the wine list. The food was nice, but Giovanni was the best part of the experience. Also if you love jazz, definitely go there on a friday night so you can be right in the heart of the jazz concert. it's loud so bring your outdoor voice!! ;)

Another fabulous dinner at Ray’s as part of Friday night jazz. We always have the best service- thank you, Carmen and staff! And this trip we tried the new salmon entree; it was healthy, tasty and delicious... just need a spoon for lentils next time. And we always enjoy the cheese board and the rose, so we were very grateful to again have such a great food, wine and musical experience!
The staff were very nice, but appeared a bit scattered and overwhelmed.
The food was expensive and of very poor quality. We ordered the Pizza Margarita and Pizza Fungi. The outer crust was excellent. The rest, completely tasteless. My passion fruit iced tea was plain iced tea with lemon. Our server insisted that WAS their passion fruit and that they didn’t offer plain iced tea?
Fellow diners appeared to be equally depressed by the quality of their choices which were entirely different from ours.
The only reason we EVER go there is that it’s handy to the museum and well placed for jazz nights. Otherwise, I would never recommend it.
The attention decor is striking . We loved the table with the hidden drawers and the glasses were beautifully shaped. The food was delicious though the portion of salmon was small. Dessert was decadent! Our cocktail and wine were a lovely treat.
Outstanding salmon salad with a variety of flavors and textures, making every bite a burst in my mouth. Really loved it!

I've been there probably 20 times, and each meal has been a great experience. The food is delicious, the menu creative, the service is perfect and the ambience wonderful. This time was Friday jazz night and we were serenaded by a talented jazz big band. Another great experience away Ray's and Stark Bar!

I ordered the Chitarra pasta with shrimp, crab, brown butter and preserved lemons. The chef forgot the crab, and the preserved lemons. When I requested them, they sent out a bit of cold crabmeat and some diced lemons. Obviously chef has not a clue what preserved lemons are, nor is he knowledgeable about beurre noisette. The dish did not taste bad, but it was definitely not as advertised. Chef certainly needs more training on how to execute dishes as described on the menu. Chef seems to be lacking basic culinary techniques and education.
Pasta was also served a bit stuck together, (not drained properly), and not hot. Service by Andrew was great, but he could not make up for the inadequacies of the food, even though he tried his best. There were not enough heaters to go around. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who knows food. Also, paying $16.00 for parking was alot on top of the cost of the drinks and food. I feel that the restaurant should validate at least a large portion of the parking.

The French fries were good until they cooled down and then were dry and pithy.
Just not what I remembered as recent as 1 month ago when I dined there.
In any case, I love the interior environment.
Overall impression abysmal! Peculiar cut “steak” blunted steak knife.Further, listed as $28on menu- charged $29. Hostess claimed it was a new menu- no adjustment made. Appetizers never arrived. Water bottle removed from our table for use elsewhere. Coffee was undrinkable- like old powdered ‘Nescafe’
Grateful for the space given to us even though our group shrank due to flu. It's always a great experience at Ray's and Stark Bar.
We were celebrating Mothering Sunday, as they do in England. Our day was perfectly blended with the ambiance of LACMA and the delightful menu and food at Ray’s. Thank you so much for the pleasurable experience!
Great people watching and passable (if overpriced) food.
Love the outdoor seating with no cars around. Open views to the park. Healthy, tasty, normal portions. All great. Waiters have a habit (happened to me 3 times already) of forgetting part of the order, usually a small bit like an appetizer to be shared or a side order. I am not fussy but it is their loss. Otherwise, great location, friendly staff, really tasty food.

This was a disappointing experience. Service was ridiculously slow - it took an hour to get our meals. The food was below average in taste. It seems like the kitchen is trying to be innovative but the flavors aren't good. The croque had way to much mustard and the "sous vide" chicken was tasteless. Chocolate dessert was just okay. Overall my feeling is that LACMA's restaurants and shops are sliding in quality while the building is under renovation/expansion.
Service was friendly but abut slow. A hostess noticed us waiting and took over our service. Did a great job! Overall nice place to sit down and eat at the museum and food was very good.
I always enjoy getting lunch or snacks at Ray's and Stark Bar when I come to visit LACMA. The staff is excellent and the food is delicious. I'm always excited to try something new each time I come. On this latest visit, there was unfortunately a very loud child and with Ray's being such a small and intimate space, the sound did carry a bit. But other than that, it was a wonderful experience and I will definitely go again!
The service was exceptional and matched by delicious food and minimal noise level which enabled us to have a conversation. Would definitely go again. Low noise level is my primary variable in choosing a restaurant. I will not go to restaurants, no matter how highly rated, if I can’t hear the person across from me. So having having outstanding food, service, and low noise level like Ray’s and Stark is truly an exceptional find.

Delicious - food AND service
Food quality is excellent but I wish there was greater variety. On the negative, the wine by the glass pours are stingy.
Food is the focus, and it doesn’t disappoint. The squash soup and pan salmon were delicious, well prepared, and served with great presentation. The prosciutto pizza was easily elevated with some red pepper flakes. Not that is was bad, coming from New York it just wasn’t as good as I’m used to having. The Malasa chai latte was amazing. The atmosphere is loud and bright. We sat in the indoor dining area, though the patio and bar outside were open with heat lamps. I visit the LACMA every time I come to LA. Now Ray and Starks with be added to the routine.
Took 45 minutes for a pizza, wasn’t even busy, server was ok, the food was very good!!

If you're going to LACMA, it's a perfect place to have a drink, or a meal. The food is great. The people watching is outstanding. You've got a great view of the wonderful Urban Lights. BUT the place is BADLY MANAGED. Staff do not seem to know what they are doing. They can't seem to get people into empty tables without huge delays. Service is slow and erratic. It's a shame.
