Raymonds Restaurant
Food was very tasty and original. Steak and duck were cooked beautifully and the sides were original, healthy and very tasty. We left full. Desserts were original but wished there was a larger variety. Overall, a great dining experience. Service was also excellent.
So good abs so sad to see them closed for the next few months, every time we go it’s a WOW ! We did the 5 course and did not disappoint
Rayminds never disappoints !! It is a true gem in Canadian Cuisine.
Great evening with excellent food and service. We had oysters, parsnip soup and tartare as apps and duck and lamb as mains. All highly recommended and the tartare especially so!
The food was delicious however when I arrived I was seated at the bar, not an actual table and was informed that the dining room had been booked out that evening. I have zero issue with this but I should have been informed prior to arrival. I didn’t mind being seated in the bar area if we had been given a table, but were promptly seated at the actual bay to eat our $100 meal. I asked the waitress if we could have one of the 4 empty tables and she spoke to a manager and we were moved (thankfully).
Anniversary
I booked a round table for 7 to share a holiday brunch with the gals in the family - service was excellent, food great and we throughly enjoyed the experience.
Well done !
My main complaint about the food is that having a lettuce salad with eggs benedict is a poor combination. We ate at 11:00 am, and having lettuce for breakfast is not something I would ever eat. There should have been some fruit. That would have made more sense. The sauce for the eggs was very bland as well. My order came with hash browns which were like eating pure grease. The restaurant’s ambiance and service were lovely but we chose to eat here for our 1st time because of Raymond’s reputation for top quality food, so I can’t tell you how dissappointing it was.
The food was the worst I have ever eaten there ; we were shocked , disappointed and let down .
Had an exceptional meal to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Enjoyed the 5 course meal with wine pairing and loved everything about it. Made this special occasion memorable.
Very good - a little misunderstanding with taking away leftovers but overall good...
Fantastic Sunday brunch - food was beyond (especially the Petit Fours) and our server Bailey was so wonderful!
It has been awhile since we last dined here (pre-COVID restrictions), and was looking forward to our meal. The food was good (though the portions a little too big for a tasting menu - the amount of food took away from it's enjoyment). The dining room was much more noisy than I remember - the two of us could hold a conversation, but it would be difficult for a larger table to converse without raised voices. The biggest negative was the overall service - staff were not as responsive as in previous visits - I generally don't complain, but we didn't have water at the table for the last 3 tasting courses (yet were refilled three times during dessert). I'm not sure if this is due to COVID driving a lower amount of staff, the holiday rush, or something else. It will be awhile before we go back, and likely not until we hear some feedback from friends that service has improved.
We had an unfortunate experience at Raymond's with regards to the food. The servers were lovely and apologetic.
Chicken sandwich was fine, however the pieces of chicken were undercooked the point where blood was running out and we did not eat them. Advised server and we still paid for them but wanted the kitchen to be aware.
Thank you to the Raymonds’ team.
We had a fabulous and very yummy brunch.
The food was tremendous and the staff were courteous and knowledgeable and overall very lovely.
All four of us were very pleased and recommend Raymond’s restaurant to all.
Happy Holidays.
I had the 5 course meal and the food was beautifully prepared!
The service was great will definitely return!
Service was exceptional. Appetizers and desserts were outstanding. Mains were good. Sommelier chose excellent pairings for the meals.
Lovely dining experience. Service was amazing. Could have done without the Christmas music.
went for brunch. Little disappointed it was not decorated for Christmas!
Great service. Food was awesome. Always something a classic with a NL twist :) Really enjoyed the atmosphere.
Amazing experience. We did the 5 course tasting, everything was exquisite and our waiter was prompt and attentive.
Anniversary
The tasting menu was incredible. Possibly the best meal I’ve ever had. My girlfriend and I were very well taken care of and we will be back.
Food was simply amazing. Service was extremely slow and delayed. Our server was less then enthusiastic. As the evening went on the delays got worse. Empty beer and wine isn’t usually something we deal with at such a high class restaurant. Food more then made up for it.
Had a small group of 4. Requested a corner table and we were accommodated.
We all decided to have the 7 course tasting menu and each dish was fantastic. Being raised in Newfoundland I’ve had cod many ways but never as it was prepared at Raymond’s which was just fantastic. We did not opt for the wine pairing as we wanted specific reds that were on the menu.
The service was excellent. At no point did either of our glasses completely empty before a server came by to refill them, whether it was wine or water. The timing between the courses was very consistent and at no point did we feel that we were waiting for a dish. The overall experience at Raymond’s was second to none and I highly recommend trying this dining experience.
Excellent. One of the best in the country and the best in Newfoundland.
You can’t go wrong when dining at Raymons. It’s the classiest restaurant ion the East Coast the food fabulous the service fabulous I 100% recommend it
Amazing brunch! Eggs benedict and lamb stew were delicious and just the right amount of filling. Don’t skip dessert- petit fours were beautiful! A great way to experience Raymonds and celebrate with an indulgent brunch
The brunch was fantastic...Everything was expertly prepared. Service was perfect with every detail attended to.
Arrived at our reservation time to be told the table was not ready. Rainy wet night. No one offered to take our coats though they were great in providing us with masks as we had not brought them with us.
Things improved remarkably after that. Great service from Chloe who provided service in French (our request ). Pace of the dinner was perfect. We had the tasting menu. Wine pairings were good - one miss in my opinion. Cannot say enough about the moose ravioli. Novel, elegant and delicious. Overall an excellent experience! Expensive yes- and worth it!
Raymond’s never fails to disappoint. They provide exceptional food, service, and make for a truly special dining experience. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary with the 5 and 7 course tasing menus. The wine pairing is a must do. Having the perfectly matched wine for each dish elevates the whole experience even further. Stand out dishes were the cod and moose pasta course. We always look forward to celebrating special occasions here.
Exactly the quality one would expect from one of the best restaurants in the world. Superb all around!
Fabulous, attentive service. Delicious food. Beyond what we expected. Highly recommended!!
Had a wonderful evening with friends
Great food wine and enjoyment
Our server was AMAZING ....
sorry forgot her name! But she was informed , great presentation of the menu and suggestions as we requested
Super evening!
This was our 7th or 8th visit to Raymond’s. This visit was a spur of the moment reservation for our 30th wedding anniversary. Because it was a last minute decision, 9:00 was the only reservation available. We were fine with that. Upon arrival we were shown to the bar. After 15-20 minutes we were seated. Once the waiter came we learned that 2 of the 4 entrees available were sold out. This was a great disappointment. We ordered what was available. Then learned the mushrooms were also sold out. Once we received our orders the steaks were good , but under cooked. The sides were terrible. They were also undercooked. Except the twice baked potatoes. Those were dry and quite over cooked.
My issue is two fold. 1- given the limited number of tables it’s not unreasonable to adequately plan so that food does not run out. 2- upon making the reservation, I had to agree to a $100 per person cancellation fee. I understand this is to ensure that I keep up my end of the bargain that I will show up. I feel that you should have done the same and ensured that your menu listed would also have been available.
Delicious and splendid for the price of a pizza !
This was my very time at Raymonds. It was such a beautiful and elevated experience. My brother and I took my Mom to celebrate her retirement. Every detail was clearly considered and our food was excellent. While I was eating I was trying to figure out when I could return. I look forward to my next visit.
Chloe and the team at Raymond’s made my husband and I feel very welcome and valued. Our 5 year wedding anniversary was even more special because of our wonderful experience at Raymond’s! Thank you so much.
Excellent food and amazing service. Was excited to find out that the entire menu was available gluten free!
