Everything was awesome - the service, food, everything!!
Spent my birthday dinner here, exceptional service and delicious food. What more can you ask for?
I have been a fortunate guest at RAYMI for the last few years enjoying great evenings at this special place.Sometimes things did not go perfect but always to my satisfaction.
At my last visit I had a few new dishes: crispy cod, tiradito hamachi with great creativity and fresh flavors .This place has been able to keep the high quality of food and service.Having said that, George was very aware of my needs and provided a gracious and generous evening. The ambiance was exquisite and the wait-staff knowledgeable and very accommodating. I would definitely go back.
I LOVE that no one brought us the check until we ASKED for it. Makes for such a lovely experience. I really enjoy NOT feeling rushed out the door.
The food here is also some of the best in the city, especially in the Latin American food genre.
Raymi was an excellent experience. From the fresh ceviche to the delicious pisco sours we were transported right to Peru. I was especially thrilled to find a ton of vegetarian and gluten free options for my sister who often has to settle for French fries and a salad. Take advantage of this place during restaurant week... It's a great value.
Friendly welcome; friendly and very professional service. Terrific food beautifully presented. Even the WCs are outstanding. This was my first time at this restaurant--it certainly won't be my last.
Great food and drinks. We really enjoyed our dinner
I've been here a couple of times and would consider this one of my top 10 favs in the city. Keep it up Raymi!
The food was amazing, the service was awesome but I hate feeling like I sitting on top of a stranger seated at the table 2 inches from me. There were plenty of open tables around the restaurant but the hostess kept trying to seat people directly beside us. 3 different parties asked to be moved because we were so crowded together.
This is a terrific find. The food was outstanding. Peruvian food is very flavorful with lots of seafood. My duck confit and chimichurri rice was so great that I didn't want to share. The seafood ceviche was fantastic as well We each got a free drink with an entree thru Yelp and it was delicious. I want to say Pisco sour but that may not be the right name. Anyway very tasty. The general manager came over to ask how we were and when we said we were celebrating a birthday he gave us a free round of champagne. The waiter was awesome as well. The space is great - lots of room, not too loud, nice atmosphere. Will be back!
I have eaten at Raymi several times before, all very positive and delicious experiences.
This time, my friend and I were escorted to the back room, which was OK because it was roomy, but the rest of the experience was the quintessential "Siberia" -
- waiter ignored us
- waiter didn't know about wines
- took 30+ minutes to get order taken
- another 25+ minutes to get food
- we got the wrong food (something waiter told us was "out")
- took 30 + minutes to ask for check
Really, I was embarassed - I took my friend there as a gift, on high recommendation, and it was just a lousy experience....
Very much enjoyed the pisco sour odyssey along with the ceviche, small plates and hanger steak. Really good meal.
We come to NYC often, traveling from another continent, this occasion we were late in making reservations to find a right place to have a good dinner in the city. Somehow we find a restaurant close to our hotel that even if it was packed they were available to get us a nice table.
Raymi was a great experience to start our trip, the place had a good vibe not too noisy to enjoy a nice conversation, the menu had a lot of choices, One of the highlight is the interesting small plates and we tried some appetizers and some of the other plates, the food was delicious and tasty, we were happy that they have enough options for us, my girlfriend is a vegetarian an I love meat, so we didn’t have any problem ordering our meals.
The wine list was decent and had one of my favorite Spanish wine. The attention to our needs was present, but not overwhelming, it was a relax and easy going dinner. All in Raymi worth a visit, wish a have one in my country, we would come back. !
Good food but way overpriced
i must say that this restaurant is very good! i honestly was happy that i went to my reservations.
We have been here many times (at least half a dozen in the last 18 months). The food is generally not bad, but tonight was pretty bad. For starters, the ceviche was bland, there's no way they used peruvian spices bc it was on the sweet side). When I mentioned it to the waiter he agreed the quality has gone down since the chef changed recently. Next the main dishes took about 45min to come out (not okay), but we were in good company so didn't complain. The second round of drinks came out and the lychee flavored drink didn't taste of lychee, but passion fruit. When we sent it back the maitre d came back and asked me if we "had tasted it?" Shocked, we tasted it again, but in reality that was a rude thing to do. The drink was sent back and returned appropriately, but it was a rude way to handle things. Finally, the chupe de camarones was bland (no salt even), and the salmon was overcooked and smothered in gravy. I have to say, I normally send ppl here for authentic peruvian food, but will cease to do so until they hire an authentic peruvian chef or someone who is remotely familiar with cooking with peruvian spices.
My 2 people party had dinner at their ceviche bar on a Tuesday which meant pisco sours other 3 cocktails were priced at a $6. The hanger steak anticuchos were so flavorful and juicy. My rocoti tiradito was delicious but could have used more of the rocoto marinate. The salmon tacu tacu was amazing. I will be coming back for sure and maybe even making sure it's on a Tuesday!
Outstanding experience. Waiter was helpful in explaining dishes and making recommendations
Skirt steak for table was great
Chicken with sauces really good as well.
Did was fantastic. Ate entirely way too much. Wait staff was very polite and tentative. Manager was very accommodating and kind. Our main course cane a bit late, which was no problem, but the manager kept sending desserts our way at the end of the evening. Would definitely fine at Raymi again!
Raymi was recommended to us from our hotel and it did not disappoint. The manager, Sigi Pazos, was the most attentative gracious host you could ask for. He lead us through the menu and ordered our drinks, everything was perfect! We did several small plates to try as much as possible. Can not say enough on how wonderful everything was. Highly recommend!
Go! It is a wonderful experience for your palate and your mind. The people there are helpful and welcoming. The more the merrier as that means more chance to try and savour more food!
Very good. Service was also on point and fun.
Delicious food, creative and high quality. I've been a number of times and the place does not disappoint. Great for two or a group.
The food was amazing and so was the service. We will definitely go back.
The place is beautiful, the food was divine and the service was friendly, attentive and prompt. We had a most enjoyable evening. I highly recommend Raymi. I only wish I lived in NYC so I could return and take weekly tango lessons there!
This place depicts Peruvian fusion food at its finest. The arroz con Pato is a must! Great choice for drinks as well.
My second time the food was better than I remembered. I would highly recommend this restaurant
The best of the peruan food for international diners
I rreally recommend it , excellent service ,nice spot and best of the peruan
Great spot that serves delicious peruvian food. Try their ceviche. best part of my dining experience
We ate papa a la huancaina, pastel de choclo, ceviche classic, anticucho and lomo salteado, every plate was fantastic, different flavors and textures - i love the papa a la huancaina and anticucho. Drinks i really recommend the classic pisco sour and the pisco with chicha (a gift from the house - beatiful touch!). Finally the service was the BEST, Leomel was fantastic with the suggestions, and paying attention to every detail. I have already recommended the place to 8 friends. Continue in this way!!!!
We visited Peru several months ago, so a Peruvian kitchen/pisco bar piqued our interest. It was not a disappointment. You can't go wrong with the arroz chaufa or pulpo meloso!! This was our first time but it will definitely not be our last! Ask for Leonardo!
I went there with my son who had just returned from 5 weeks in Peru and wanted to share the food with us. Although the portions were smaller and the prices higher than in Lima (to be expected in NYC) the food was comparable to what he had experienced there. Our Peruvian waiter was very good as well.
They gave us a reservation for 8:30pm. We were sat at 8:45pm only to be told that the Kitchen was "Closing in 10 minutes"... so we had to Rush our Orders in, without being able to relax and take our time to look at the Menu, Wine List, Drinks List, etc. Not a pleasant experience.
Food was OK. The anticuchos and empanadas were great, but whatever you do, don't order the Causa... Horrendous!
I visited Raymi for drinks and apps on 10/31. My friends and I were seated at the bar. The staff was very welcoming as usual.
Love the delicious Lychee Chilcano and Causa, can't wait to go back again.
Four of us had a great meal at Raymi last Friday night. The restaurant has many Peruvian classics, and updates them with a twist. I loved the variety. Started with a Pisco Sour, which is
something you can't order just anywhere. Meal had many elements including ceviche, tiradato, Peruvian "sliders" and a whole fish with latin spices and a beurre blanc like sauce.
Makes me hungry thinking about it now!
Very pleasant restaurant, good food, good service but not 'Haute Cuisine'.
Terrible service - rude and slow
I have been here many times and it remains wonderfully consistent! The Pisco Punch has become my new favorite cocktail.
We have been there several times for dinner. Some times with friends during happy hour.
Cocktail Pesco is excellent! the food overall is very good. The atmosphere and service were very nice. music is getting louder....
From the moment we walked inside (my wife and I) we were amazed with the setting of the place, the tables, the bar, the liquor and wine menu. The service was excellent. This place did not have any negative impact from me. My waiter was excellent (too bad I didn't catch his name) but was very helpful the whole time. To top it off I even met a hispanic singer (Franco De Vita) who was eating with his family 2 tables away from me. I looked to see if he had any special treatment but honestly I can say i received the same treatment as him (singer) which made my surprised dinner to my wife very special. I recommend the appetizers it out of this world. One last thing... the food and appetizers even drinks didn't take long to be served, it was on point.
