My new favorite Brunch spot , food is total different compared to other brunch restaurants. But is amazing!! Healthy and delicious, a lot of gluten free options and the service is professional and friendly! My waiter William make are day very pleasant!!! And the hostess very beautiful and welcoming. Thanks. I can’t wait to try dinner!!
Amazing food !! The staff was extremely nice and supportive. Food came out in good timing and it wasn’t too loud to hold a conversation.
We went with high expectations hoping to find a place as good as Brooklyn’s Llama Inn in Manhattan but came out very disappointed. Maybe they were overwhelmed because of Restaurant Week. We had booked a standard dining table for 8:15 pm which was not available when we got there. At 8:30 pm they offered us seats at the high tables. When we pointed out that OpenTable lets you select which type of seating you prefer, first they tried to argue that that was not true and then finally moved us to the dining room.
Service in the dining room was mediocre. Our water glasses were not refilled, I finished a cocktail with the appetizer and asked to see the wine list to order wine for the rest of the meal, somebody brought the list and the waiter never came to take the wine order. They never took the list or the empty cocktail glass off the table. The dining room was very full and it looked like there was only one waiter available so he clearly could not keep up.
The food was OK not great. We ordered ceviche which was bland and crispy dumplings which were good except that the sauce was salty to the point of being inedible. For entrees we ordered the seafood risotto, which was the best dish of the evening, and the arroz con pato, recommended by the waiter and also quite bland and flavorless.
The quinoa brownie desserts were entirely forgettable.
So we are back to trekking to Brooklyn for great Peruvian food.
Awesome place and especially a great deal during Restaurant Week. Great food, great drinks, great service. HIGHLY recommend.
I reserved Raymi for a very special dinner, and the food, service and ambiance only made the evening better.
The food was amazing. I would definitely come back.
We were looking for dinner after seeing a play in the area (Chelsea), and we chose Raymi almost at random-- and were very glad we did. It is a find. Everything was delicious: I had the arroz con pato (duck confit, cilantro jasmine rice, huancaina, Cusquena, crispy quinoa), my wife had the kale solterito salad (roasted tomatoes, baby bok choi, quinoa, cauliflower, olives, avocado), and our son had the lomo saltado (hanger steak, soy sauce, baby bok choi, tomato, red onion, fries, and jasmine rice. We dined at 9:30 on a night when Raymi closed at 10:30, so things were fairly quiet; I can imagine the place being very lively at peak hours. But the atmosphere was lovely, the service was prompt and gracious, and the food-- did I mention the food?-- was fabulous. Highly, highly recommended.
We lived the restaurant. Our waitress was terrific and made the evening even more enjoyable. We really liked the food a lot and hope to go back real soon
Food was great. Atmosphere was really nice & it's a great date spot. William, our waiter, was awesome & always made sure we were doing OK. I love Peruvian food and this did not disappoint. Definitely go for Restaurant Week if you're able to.
The food was a good surprise - loved the free roasted corn started, couldn't stop eating them. Wonder if they have these in packages like chips. Overall the food was great and would go back. The ambiance was good too; maybe a tad tight with all our coats behind our chairs. Services were great, very attentive. Great experience overall, thanks!
I have been to Raymi many times and always it was excellent. it is a delicious place and you won't be disappointed.. The atmosphere was energetic but calm we will definitely go back in the future. Fabulous food with robust flavors and unique dishes.
Just the best! Obsessed with everything here. Big flavor in every bite! Best PISCO sour ever! Sublime, FRIENDLY SERVICE. Great value. Can't say enough about this gem!
I Have yet to get tired of this place but it's become one of those places that makes you want and be reminded of why you keep on coming back to begin with. Need I say more?
Outstanding!! We had dinner for restaurant week... food is delicious.. fresh ceviche, the fish is so delicious but what really impress me is the service !!! My waiter William make us feel special!! All his recommendations were perfect!! From the wine, appetizers, entree’s, desserts with a great sense of humor !! One of my new favorites restaurant in the city. I can’t wait to try brunch !!! Thanks for a great birthday dinner celebration!!!
Raymi is has a Welcoming, warm and communal vibe, with great music. The food is as pleasing to the eye as it is to the palate. From the hostess’s to the bartenders and wait staff, especially William, you will enjoy every moment of your visit to this eatery.
What a great meal! Met a few friends there after work for some drinks. Saw a couple people eating at the bar and couldn’t resist. The manager was super accommodating. They were pretty busy and she sat us immediately with no hesitation, even though we didn’t have a reservation. We shared the Mixto & Classico ceviches, both were outstanding! The freshness of the fish and the fantastic flavors left us wanting more, but thankfully that’s when the dumplings and octopus arrived. All i need to say is WOW! These are an absolute must. We shared a large Duck Rice and the cauliflower entree which both impressed. Started out for their great happy hour and stayed all through the night. Well worth it! Hope to make it back for Restaurant Week, or at least a delicious pisco sour.
Whenever we have a very special occasion, this is our favorite restaurant, sometimes hard to get a reservation specially for RW, but always worth it. The best menu-deal for Restaurant Week with additional healthy dishes & gluten free.
Must go!!! Not sure how there could be a bad review unless.....
Actually thought it was very reasonably priced amazing food no matter what you picked! So I recommend eating there and ordering the ANYTHING!!!. my favorite is Arroz con pato without a doubt the best in the city.ALL staff were friendly, personable, attentive and helpful.
Restaurant week, trying a new place. Waiter seemed bummed we didn’t go for the upsell, but it is what it is. Pleasant experience and looking forward to hitting up this place again. Everything was cooked perfectly.
It was great eating here! The service was great too and the atmosphere was lively
Went for restaurant week. Food tasted like it sat out all day and was just reheated. no balance of flavors - I dont understand what justifies their prices. Desert hurt my stomache.
I have been to Raymi many times, for date nights, my birthday celebrations as a big group and a few friends get together and every single time the service and food are outstanding!
I held a brunch meetup here, about 10 people. The food was very good, the staff was accommodating, brunch prices are reasonable, the space is airy and beautiful, and everyone left very happy. Service could've been a little more attentive (I would've ordered another drink) but I would definitely book here again.
I've been to this restaurant before and had some excellent meals but the meal this time did not meet expectations. The flavors were not fantastic enough and the portions were too small. It seemed more like a place to be seen that a great place to eat.
The restaurant was beautiful but the items on the menu were very pricey and the portions was very small. To top it off right in front of us there was a high ladder with a handyman trying to fix the wents. Mind you this was Saturday evening during prime dinner time! It was very distracting and rude. The general manager didn’t even come around to apologize!
Drinks were good however, I would not return back. Much better Peruvian restaurants in NYC.
We came here for my husband's birthday and also because we had just come back from Peru so we wanted to find something that reminded us of our recent holiday.
We were seated 30 minutes later than our booking time but this was made up with our first drinks on the house.
They do have chicha morada - a Peruvian staple! It is made in house as well.
The food was fairly good - probably on the smaller side. We shared two small plates and the half chicken (very tender by the way) and two desserts. This was more than enough for us but I could imagine this may be not enough for others.
Service was good - we were always attended to and check in on.
They also sung a little happy birthday to my husband which was very sweet.
I did note that half the restaurant was closed off - the back half. So there definitely is a large space to accomodate lots of customers if they need to. High ceilings and cosy inside.
Would recommend if you want to try Peruvian in NYC. There aren't really that many options around!
Quality of fish has degraded since a year and a half ago when it was fantastic. This time, service was below average - the waitress refused to give us a bowl when we requested . Fish did not taste good. Several premium items were removed from the menu. And they ran out of octopus which made us wonder if they don't have frequent fish delivery.
This place used to be excellent 2 years ago but has really degraded in quality and service. Such a pity because I used to like to go to this place.
Delicious food! The seafood risotto was amazing! The drinks and desserts were worth it also! Very friendly staff... really good restaurant!
Comida muy poco elaborada y poca cantidad per el precio de 70$ por persona. Mesa muy mal situada y sala muy fria. Lo mejor, el trato y la dedicación del personal.
Having traveled to Peru recently, I was excited to discover Raymi. The food reminded me of the delicious meals I had in Lima and Cusco. My favorite menu items are the Lomo Saltado and the Causo, and you must enjoy a Pisco Sour (or two) with your meal! The service was friendly and attentive. Can't wait to return to Raymi.
New favorite restaurant! Excellent food excellent service. William was great!! Fun and friendly. Drinks r strong and ambience is cozy. I can’t wait to come back!!
The food is very good and the service is very attentive. I will come back again and again
Great experience from beginning to end!! Tuesday night reservation , the food is very flavorful and The Fish was so delicious and the chilcano drink very refreshing. Service was outstanding. My waiter with a great sense of humor which is a plus for me suggested very good choices for apps and main courses. The dining area in the back is cozy and the music is perfect !! Great for a date !! Thanks for the hospitality.
I think this place is capable of doing much more. I had a very enjoyable dinner there once, but this brunch disappointed everyone in our party. I chose it, in part, because they indicated items on the menu were gluten free (but I learned in the restaurant that many of those items marked are only gluten free with modification, a disappointment). The rest of my party was similarly disappointed, without dietary restrictions. I ultimately apologized to the group for my poor restaurant choice. A shame that such a nice space and a great theme is so underwhelming at brunch, but the scarcity of brunchers at this place in this otherwise busy neighborhood should have clued me in.
Tasty food, warm and friendly service. Cannot wait to go back.
We came back to Raymi for our anniversary. The ceviches are delicious, our waiter had good suggestions, and the wine list was 30% on bottles. There was a private party with live peruvian music in the backroom, which was very nice. The place was packed on a Wednesday evening, and yet it wasn't very loud which I enjoyed!
I first went to Raymi for Restaurant week and have since added it to my favorites list. Yummy cocktails, awesome appetizers, and delicious food. Great happy hour menu. I would definitely recommend.
Great food and great service made for a great evening!
We arrived way early for our reservation in a snow storm - it was warm and cozy inside Raymi. Really enjoyed William"s suggestions on the ceviche and mains. Grilled octopus and seafood medly were outstanding, Since we ate in the bar area, it did get loud as more folks arrived, but a great meal with great service
Good Peruvian food here. The service was friendly and our server was knowledgeable and offered good advice on both food and wine pairing. I'd come back next time in NYC.
We began with the ceviche classico, which was delicious. Everything that followed, however, left much to be desired.
Our mixed kale salad was lack-luster, missing numerous ingredients. For example, the roasted asparagus and the olives appeared to be omitted. Only limited amounts of roasted tomatoes were found.
Then, after a half hour wait, the octopus and lomo saltado arrived. Yes, the traditional dish of Perú was done the satisfaction. The octopus was burned, rubbery, and the portion wouldn't feed my (petite) cat.
Our server was negligent, forgetting our initial ceviche order. She then did little to alleviate our frustration.
The ambience in the rear dining area is very dark-too dark for my personal preference. And the rest rooms downstairs require a flashlight to see where you need to go. I did illuminate my stall and saw puddles and refuse littering the floor and lavatory. (Surprising that NYC inspectors allow such dimly lit wash rooms.)
Sadly, Raymi is not a place that I can recommend.
Good food. original menu but we miss the old decor.
I don't know what the situation with the heat was, but this was a post-theater visit and if it was 40 degrees outside it was maybe 50 degrees inside. It warmed up, sure, but that was as more people came in and sat down. Normally, climate and temperature are not something you have to worry about at Raymi, but that night, we almost left because we didn't want to eat with our jackets on.
So, good food, great service, but please do something with your heat.
