Rawhide Steakhouse at Wild Horse Pass Ratings and Reviews
After reading several negative reviews that were 6 mos old, I was glad that we tried it out.
We stayed at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort so we took the boat shuttle over to Rawhide.
Dinner was great and my 6 yr old son enjoyed all the activities around town- especially the Burro Ride and petting zoo! We would definitely come back when we're in town!
Great ambiance and great food the only down fall horrible service. Our order was giving to another table and by the time they figured that out was about 25 min and then they stared our order all over again. Took about 1.5 hours after ordering to get our food. From our neighboring table (group of about 10-12) they had horrible service as well. Even had a manager come over to speak with them.
Went for our 44th anniversary. Food was not cooked well. They had run out of chicken the night before and didn't have it for the night we were there, they must not know how to buy chicken from a store. Might give it one more chance they had been closed for the summer and this was the second night open.
I was excited to come to rawhide foe dinner. We were greeted and at promptly. Our server was nice enough but seemed to have trouble hearing us. We ordered 2 appetizers which were brought out separate. The items on the menu dogs not match what the menu online was. We were not happy with the deep fried pickles. We expected chips as we ordered, but received spears which we didn't like. We asked the server he blew it off by just saying the menu changed. We seemed to wait an extremely long time for our food and by the looks of the amount of people there i don't think it should have been. One persons steak was overcooked and my burger was not well done as ordered. Our sides were not correct on 2 orders. We noticed the same problem at the table next to us. We has to find our own steak sauce and ketchup. We seemed to wait a very long time for our bill also. We spent over 100.00 and didn't feel we got what we paid for. We walked through the town and spent over 100.00 more and to be honest was the best part of the evening. To be honest I don't know how likely it will be we return though.
Our first visit to Rawhide and it won't be our last! The atmosphere was fun, the staff was friendly, and the food was delicious! William, our server, was wonderful! The portions were huge, we left with plenty of leftovers. The steaks were cooked perfectly, tender and juicy. The BBQ sampler was also good, great for a big appetite. The bacon wrapped meatloaf was another hit! I highly recommend the bacon Mac n cheese as a side. If you have kids, take them back by the kitchen to see how they cook, campfire style, they lower the grill plate down over the fire with a huge wheel. At the end of the meal, we got sheriffs badges with our names on them, a fun little souvenir. Definitely will visit again. Plus we came early to walk around the Old West town before our dinner time.
We have been taking our daughters to Rawhide for the past 4 years. When we first started coming they gave the girls hats and bandanas, bracelets, fools gold, and sheriff pins. They actors were amazing and the food was awesome. We continued to come here several times a year since then. We bring out of town visitors, have had a birthday party, we come here a lot. The past 3 times we have been there it has been horrible. The food has been sub-par and over priced, and the entertainment very lacking in any sort of excitement. I think this experience on fathers day is the final visit we will have to this beloved spot of ours for while. I am so utterly disappointed :(
We always looking forward to going to Rawhide when we visit Arizona. The mesquite smoked steaks and ribs are the best along with great sides. Also country music while you eat. Our grand daughter's jaw drops every time she sees the card trick expert perform his tricks.
Our family loved Rawhide Steakhouse. The ambiance was perfect to enjoy a sasparilla and steak after a long day of cowboy and outlaw fun. The live music was wonderful, performers voice was wonderful. They had plenty of food options to make everyone happy (not an easy feat). Our waiter Mark was on top of everything and made us feel welcome.
We selected Rawhide for a family dinner because Grandpa is an old cowboy and we thought he might enjoy it. He thoroughly enjoyed the musical entertainment and he menu choice. My husband and I danced several songs and I recommend the steakhouse as a dance spot. We were the only couple on the dance floor all evening - plenty of space. We recommend the steakhouse as very family oriented, kid friendly and a good place for a group outing.
The food was very good. I recommend the fried pickle appetizer, Grandpa recommends the cornbread muffins and my husband loved his sirloin. The food was well prepared and fit well with the cowboy atmosphere.
I would love to stop here and visit again. There was a live band on Sunday night and the food was wonderful. The service could have used some work, but they were very busy. The staff was courteous and friendly, and we didn't have to wait that long for the food. Loved the rolls!
First off, no beers on tap. That is lame for a restaurant of this size and theme. Secondly, ordered the "rattlesnake" appetizer. It was so overly processed and deep-fried, it could have been any kind of meat. At some point, I turned to my dining partners and said "This could be popcorn shrimp or this could be squirrel." Lastly, the steaks were so salty and sinewy I had to wash off the leftovers in order to make them fit for my dog. Don't want her to get high blood pressure.
All in all, the band that night "AirZona" was the best part about the restaurant.
My family and I went here for the Mother's Day buffet. Admittedly, this buffet was quite a bit cheaper than many other options that were available on Open Table and, in this case, we got what we paid for. There was nothing special about the buffet and a lot of the food was just not good. No one in our party really ate very much because things just weren't particularly tasty.
It's possible that the food might be better on a different day, but I will probably never know because I don't see myself going back.
Had reservations, so even on a Friday night we were seated quickly. Initial service was a little slow and for some reason, the first three beers we asked for were not available. We ended up asking what was available and ordered that way.
There was a mix up on the appetizer order, they delivered salsa and chips, which we didn't order. It was removed from our table, but not our bill.
My wife and I ordered the group (two or more) special, my son ordered the ribeye, daughter the prime rib and her friend ordered the meatloaf. Getting a refill on our Arnold Palmers took time because we couldn't get anyone to get it for us. The food arrived in a timely manner and was delicious, but the side dishes were mixed up on a couple of orders.
The food was delicious and the ribeye and prime rib were flavorful and cooked to perfection.
Bottom line....if you're looking for a high-brow Ruth's Chris steakhouse, this isn't it. However, If you're looking for the same quality of delicious and well prepared cuisine, without the stratospheric prices and you feel like eating in a country Western venue, the Rawhide Steakhouse is where you need to have your next steak dinner.
The menu was very limited, and they were out of several items. A 22 dollar snake bites had very little actual meat in it, with a dozen dime size crunchies and 5 nickle size fried potatoe medallions served on soggy fried onions. Server did not explain what was what. Rack of ribs served without any sauce, half overcooked and half undercooked. Steak was dry and had to drouwn in A1 to eat it. Recommend not eating here, they also close at 8pm and do not take walk ins even though there are many empty tables. Don't understand how this place stays in business. Very overpriced.
What height is still a decent place for fun dining and entertainment however since it's moved it has significantly diminished. The food was ok and our steaks were very well done and surprisingly affordable. Unfortunately, everything else from the sides to the drinks and the portions were a very poor value. $3 for the child's milk, $12 for five pieces of shrimp...... Not reasonable at all.
When we dined only about 10% of the tables were occupied and instead of a live band there was just one mediocre singer on the stage. We probably won't be returning for a while.
We took my dad here for his Birthday and we all had a blast. I had the Prime Rib with mac n cheese. it was amazing. my dad and boyfriend had the 6oz New York Loin and they said that was delicious! My mom had the Surf N Turf special and it was worth it. The service was amazing. We liked how the place was open till 10pm that gave us more time to go take pictures and have a walk around. I will go back and recommend it to everyone!
If you decide to check out Rawhide it's best to plan on spending at least two hours before or after you enjoy your meal at the steakhouse. There are myriad of fun activities for kids and adults alike. There is a western gun fight every couple of hours, mechanical bull riding, rock climbing and you can even have one of your friends thrown in jail!
As for the food it is very good! We all ordered steaks that were very well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The accoutrements was spot on as well. Be sure to try the 32 oz margaritas as well.
Overall a very pleasurable day in the old west!
The food overall was good, however, prices were high for the food and service received. The rattlesnake at $24 was ridiculously high imo. Service was slow and someone even told us that it would be, that they were short wait staff. It was kid friendly and a unique place to check out, but I don't feel the need to return.
All food was very good with exception of the sirloin steak (on table) which was cold, well done, and tough. I could not chew mine. I asked the waiter if I could have a piece of steak off of the grill which he promptly obtained. This steak was medium rare and very good. Everyone else at my table that took steak from the table (Pan) could not eat chew theirs. What a waste of good meat.
The service was horrible. They were allowing walk in at the same time as guests with reservations and when we got there 10 minutes prior to our reservation the line was 50 yards long to talk to the hostess. When I asked what there plan was they said to wait in line with everyone else. They didn't give any preferential treatment to those of us who planned ahead and made a reservation. The food was not as quality as Golden Corral. The live music was loud and difficult to understand (and included Frosty the Snowman at Easter brunch). Will not be back.
We had not been to Rawhide in years, but decided to try it for Easter brunch as it was one of very few affordable options for our family. It was a surprisingly pleasant experience...simple but good home cooking, live entertainment, and great venue for post-meal outdoor stroll. Our "kids" are young adults and enjoyed it so much, they suggested we return for Mother's Day.
The food was above par at Rawhide for Easter. However, refills on simple drinks like soda and juice will set you back $3 each time. The service was a little slow, and the wait staff did not seem to communicate with the kitchen staff. All in all, an above average buffet, but terrible service.
Went to the steakhouse for early dinner & we had a reservation but didn't really need it. But we ate at about 5:30 pm because we had a 2 year old & a 2 month old with us. Now the three adults all ordered the same thing which was the combination BBQ & I must be honest that the brisket tips were wonderful, very moist & tender BUT the chicken was very over cooked, it was dry to the point that the 2 year old didn't even eat it. The ribs were also a big disappointment as they too were very dried out & had a very hard crust exterior. Now I must say that as left overs the following day when I heated up the ribs they were much better, moist & tasty.
I should have said something to our waiter but he was extremely busy with a very large group that was seated directly behind us after we ordered so decided not to.
The music was very nice except too loud, it was hard to talk to each other during our meal. I guess I would have thought the food would have been fresh off the pit especially at that time of the dinner.
The whole rawhide town and steakhouse experience was great fun and really well done. The steakhouse experience didn't start too well though. I booked through open table and had my reservation confirmed yet when we got there they had no record of it. It wasn't a problem and we got a table ok. The waitress was pleasant enough but certainly not enthusiastic. Service with drinks was slow particularly to refill glasses.
There was a good availability of gluten free options and the menu was as you'd expect. The food was average, portions were good. We tried the rattlesnake appetiser (to tick the box!) and were underwhelmed.
A magician came to the table and performed some great tricks which was fantastic fun and the live music was good too which both made the evening really enjoyable.
I would recommend the steakhouse for the experience and entertainment as a whole with a proviso of not expecting too much from your food....
Food is average and the price is very high. Go there for the entertainment value. Great magician did card tricks for the kids. The best reason to go to Rawhide is the entertainment outside in the Old West Town. Definitely get tickets for the gun fight show.
Every time a friend or relative comes to town Rawhide is on the list for a place to go for dinner and entertainment. Great place. Great food (except the BBQ or baked beans). Awesome appetizers and steaks. Love the singing cowboy. Just remember to request a song or two and put a tip in his jar. We just moved to Arizona and been here 10 times. Will return.
