Rawhide Steakhouse at Wild Horse Pass Ratings and Reviews
The seating was fantastic. We were right up front next to the stage. The entertainment was great and appropriate for all ages. We had dinner Easter Sunday so the food was served family style. The food was excellent but my personal preference would have been to order off the menu. It was a great venue, pricing was good. I will definitely visit again.
The food was bad. The pork was over half fat and was tough. The filet mignon was not cooked as ordered and was also tough. Knats were landing on the food. The only thing good was the rattlesnake and the kids enjoyed that with the certificate. Very bad experiance. Will never go back.
Had a very nice dinner.......best steaks in our memory ! Service was prompt and friendly. Entertainment was excellent.......great 'in the background' volume, allowed one to listen, and still carry on conversations. Will go again for another 'special occasion'.
Only 'negative' was that in the original reaservation 'comment' section, I had mentioned that it was my husband's 71st birthday 'gift' from the family.......but there was no 'token' piece of cake, or mention of that when we were there. Small detail, but a 'personal' feature at other resaurants we have attended over the years.
Overall, a very nice evening.
The food was excellent as was the country band. While we had an enjoyable dinner with a friend it is not the place to take someone you want to get to know better. The music is fun and loud not conducive to extensive conversation. When you visit make sure you get there early enough to visit their wild west town either before or after dinner. While I believe the atmosphere is kid friendly the prices may not be.
The food was excellent. In fact the steaks were some of the best we've ever had. Our server forgot out $17 rattle snake appetizer, which I had her take off the billing at the end. We also had to continually flag her down when we needed something, such as water, an additional napkin, etc. She seemed a bit slow and not up to the task. Then again, she may have just been a new employee and somewhat over her head. The atmosphere was excellent and fun. Aside from the service issue, this was a superb meal and had the service been better we'd have rated it a solid five stars. We will definitely consider bringing future out of town visitor's here again.
The food was good. However, I don't think they handle reservations very well. Very unorganized. We had reservations for 5:30pm. We showed up early at 5:30 and were told we needed to wait 10 minutes and they would call us. Well, 15 minutes later no one called us and a line started to form... and they were letting people in. I walked up and asked why we weren't being seated and she said all these other people had reservations. The problem is... I was there before everyone. So, I wautewd in line, and then they decided to split the lines between reservations and non-reservations... making the line we were in a non-reservation. We were extremely mad by the time they seated us - with no apologies. I won't make reservations there again.
I would not recommend this place in the future to any of my guests as the food for the price was poor. Plus the food was not cooked to satisfaction after sending it back twice. Sorry you won't see me in the future or my recommendations to others. Sorry a back experience.
Approach Rawhide as what it is-a complete unadulterated tourist trap. It is fun, as long as you know that's what you're in for. Great place for kids and anyone who might enjoy the novelty of eating rattlesnake. On my most recent visit, two of the three of us had filet, which was excellent. The third member of our party ordered a different cut of steak (I'm not sure which, but it cost $23.00). Her steak was both overcooked & full of gristle. Not being a complainer, she elected to eat the overcooked portion, but when she got to the gristle (half of the steak), she brought it to the attention of the server, who removed the steak and said she'd have it removed from the bill. We were not pleased when the bill arrived & she had credited 50%.
Fabulous food, and a fun, casual atmosphere. Foot stomping live western music adds to the experience (though sometimes too loud for conversation). The filet mignon melts in your mouth, as did the t-bone steak. The garden fresh veggies were cooked to perfection. Overall, a terrific dining experience, reasonably priced, and I would definitely return!
The band was much too loud (we could hardly carry on a conversation. It took 15 minutes from the time we were seated until a waitress came to take drink orders and it wasn't that crowded. The main course showed up much too soon, as we had not finished our appetizers and salad. The food was avereage. Had to go and find the waitress to order a second round of drinks. I noted in the reservation that it was my wife's 65th birthday, but nobody acknowledged this fact. Lastly, I received an email asking whether we had showed up for our reservation (which I did make) and that they had no record that we had.
It was really a neat experience. My aunt came in from Michigan so it was neat to be able to take her there to eat the rattle snake however we had three orders of the prime rib and it was not good at all unfotunate my 13 year old was not able to eat his at all due to the texture and fat. We did not complain but it was a very expensive experience as we spent almost 200.00 so that was a little depressing. The food could of been better.
I had booked a table for 5:30pm on Friday January 15th and we ended up being 1 hour late as we drove North of the city to find out that Rawhide had moved 3 years earlier (no fault to the restaurant). I was very apologetic when we finally did arrive and the staff was extremely polite and accomodating. In addition, my son who is only 2, desperately wanted to go on both the horse and burro, only to find out he was too small to do either. The staff was kind enough to let him sit and pet both which was enough for him to feel like he achieved riding them both. They even allowed me to take photos of him on both which will be a wonderful keepsake for the future. I would definitely recommend your establishment to others!
Our waiter took our order and brought us our food and then disappeared. Ordered prime rib med well, it came rare. It took forever to find the waiter to send it back. By the time they got it back to us the other 3 of us were done eating. The food was good, but this part of the meal was awful. The music was so loud you could not talk.
