We are deeply disappointed with OpenTables. You have sent us reminders of the booking the day before our reservation, and now asking for the review. THE RESTAURANT HAD APPARENTLY CLOSED DOWN THREE WEEKS AGO DUE TO THE OWNER CHANGE OF THE LOCATION!!! You could have at least informed us of the fact. It was the last evening of our vacation, and a celebration dinner. It was impossible to make alternative arrangements when we found out of the closing on our own only by going to the restaurant at our booking time of 6:30pm that day.
So sad that ravish closed! We were accommodated accordingly and enjoyed chef Keith’s wonderful offerings!
Food was poor and would not go back again. Not impressed and too many other good places to eat in Honolulu
Had higher expectations than what was experienced. Granted it was a Monday night so maybe the A Team wasn't on. Inside was mostly empty, outside far from full. Still, 20 minutes to get a cocktail and another 20 minutes for a simple appetizer. Server acted like this is normal. Food was ok, nothing spectacular...ahi fillette, cheek croquette, sushi. Servers were friendly. Nice outdoor space. Piped music was unimaginative...some mediocre group's best hits well over an hour.
We enjoyed the clean, modern appearance of this restaurant. The menu has several unique selections-we especially enjoyed the crab mac ‘n cheese and the beet salad.
We really wanted to love this restaurant, as it is right on our doorstep. We used to adore Morimoto when it was in the same location. We tried Ravish when it was brand new, but were not impressed. We thought we'd give it a second chance. We had asked for a table with a view of the Hilton fireworks, but when we arrived were told that both patios were occupied with parties. The location within the Modern Hotel is wonderful. The tables are nicely spaced, not too close together. The restaurant was not at all busy. The cocktails were nice. The food was very ordinary, not particularly inventive and rather salty. It was certainly nothing like Morimoto used to be (or is currently in Maui). The service was indifferent.
Don't let the exterior of the resort it's in fool you, Ravish was great. Food was all amazing and if you can get a patio table you'll get a great view of the harbor and sunset if you time it right.
Drinks were delicious. Food was unique. Ambiance decadent. We will be back with friends.
excellent food and service. Not cheap, but if you are going to spend more, this is where you get more. They really took care of special dietary needs too when it came to creating a drink for my wife. Well done.
Wonderful service from the moment we were greeted, right through our exit. Everyone was attentive, kind, and went above and beyond. The food was exceptional- fresh, flavorful and innovative. Our cocktails- the modern sunburn- were delicious, and dessert was incredible. Harbor front dining with mellow ambiance. It’s an easy walk from the Hilton Hawaiian village and a much better value than anything you will find there. We had cocktails, appetizers, salad, shareable main, and dessert and were out the door for $100 for 2 people (champagne was kindly given to us for free as we were celebrating our first date night away from the kids). I can’t say enough great things about this place- it was a special enough find to warrant my first time taking time to write a restaurant review.
Unfortunately, the outdoor deck was closed, which we love.
The inside restaurant is nothing special.... at all.
Nice drink at the bar before being shown to our table on the deck. Good food and attentive service. The deserts were exceptional.
This was our third visit. Family of five had dinner there last year and it was great. This year we went our first night in Waikiki and food was great. We decided to invite friends for the last night at The Modern. A group of 12 people. Food and service was amazing. Everyone enjoyed and said they’d definitely go back.
An excellent dining experience. The fish of the day was sensational, one of the best fish dishes I've ever had. The waitress was pleasant and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant.
To be honest, was a little disappointed - the dress code was business casual yet there were diners wearing T'shirts and caps. There had been a large group using the outside space earlier (conference attendees) who had taken over the bar area and were clearly having a very enjoyable time and unaware that other diners might enjoy a cocktail before dinner. The restaurant manager was apologetic and we were eventually shown to our outside table (which was actually under a tent, great as it had been raining but was not very atmospheric).
Food and service however made up for the rocky start and we had an enjoyable dinner, but was not as special as I had imagined it might be.
First of all this place used to be Morimoto, so some sushi chefs remained. I tried spicy salmon: it was excellent! Kona kampachi was a little over cooked yet the butter lemon sauce was great! I ordered lilikoi soufflé: it was fluffy and worth ordering, I am not sure if you need to pour chocolate sauce but still you can enjoy a bit of different taste. Overall the restaurant looking over the yachts makes even the locals relax...thank you very much 🌺
This was a great suggestion! Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Would visit again when in Honolulu. Dessert was a special treat!
Nice ambience. My friends and I love the sunset view and Friday fireworks view.
Great service. Our waitress Sarah is very friendly and nice. We were happy and thankful to the manager, gave us discount and dessert.
Ravish has the best happy hour drink and small plates menu in Waikiki
Deborah was a stellar waitress, excellent service and food.
We had a great time! The food was superb. The specialty cocktails were delicious. And our table overlooked the sailboats and then the ocean. Perfect night!
The service was slow. Our food was cold and had to be sent back. It came back out cold again. Not a good dining experience.
Great food as always... we tipped very generously as we could see the staff was running hard but the table service continues to be a bit on the slow side...other than that it was great...it appears they continue to be short on staffing
Great dinner and atmosphere. It was nice and quiet but we went at 5 PM, which is probably not their busiest time. Prices are a little high but not more than expected for the location and food/drink quality. Happy Hour is only available at the bar. The cocktails are great, I tried a few from the happy hour menu. Servers were knowledgeable of the menu items and water cups were kept full. There were a handful of seemingly gluten free options from looking at the menu, but I didn't ask about GF soy sauce. The outdoor seating is covered (which helped because it was raining lightly for part of our meal) and overlooks the harbor by Waikiki Beach. Overall it was a good experience for our group of 10 adults.
Everything was great. Food And service outstanding.
The appetizers were the best part of the meal. The noise level was high but there was a wedding going on in the room above Ravish and that was the explanation we were given when I complained about the noise. I will not go back.
Everyone was so friendly
The sushi over here was amazing! I love everything about the sushi! I didn’t like the calamari....it tasted like it was over burnt...
The service was alright. Our waiter didn’t seem to want to help us in anyway.
The environment was nice and easy to hear each other.
Went on Valentine's Day, and while the food wasn't bad and showed creativity, the 5-course set menu was pretty expensive and we had to wait 30-40 minutes between EACH course. I had to watch the manager apologize to many tables around us, and I felt sorry for our helpless waiter who also apologized profusely. I won't be returning.
We dined here for Valentines day dinner, and while the kitchen seemed to be struggling that evening, the service was excellent, the cocktails were delicious and innovative, and our complaints were handled completely to our satisfaction. For the outstanding service, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fine dining experience in downtown honolulu.
Came for valentines night dinner. Food was g
Valentines Day menu was great. Especially enjoyed the Ahi dish in the Indulge menu and the Grilled Octopus and the Lilikoi panna cotta from the Pearl.
Kitchen service was the weak link...obvious from view from reception desk. Serving between courses was long, good for romantic dinner, but not for an ordinary dinner.
Coffee course was the weakest...bar did not know how to make “Irish Coffee” & “Sambucca” had to be served in two portions because restaurant had to search property for a full pour.
Asked for a vegan meal, they gave us cheese/dairy. Food was ok, not great. Don’t recommend. View isn’t even that nice
Very tasty food but to little portion
Absolutely amazing dining experience. The food, the cocktails and especially the service were outstanding. We had an array of the sushi menu and loved every item. Highly recommend.
