Rasoï Ratings and Reviews
I’ve been to Rasoï on several occasions with friends and I’ve always enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. So I obviously wanted to showcase this gem to my mother as she loves south asian cusine and it was the perfect occasion to celebrate her birthday. I made my reservation on OpenTable and indicated that it was for a special occasion - my mothers birthday.
i arrived early and the evening started with a quick banter with our server and a couple of cocktails. Then everything went blah afterwards. Our server was slow to take our order (seemed like the only server on staff) and I watched the tables around received their food before us. We did receive our appetizers fairly quickly but then the time to our mains took forever. I finally flagged one of the workers to inquire what was taking so long. By then I was not impressed as I could see my mum waiting hungrily. Luckily other family members tried to keep her busy. When we were done we sat there waiting to see if anyone would come by. finally our server came and asked if we were done (uh yeah?!?) and we had to request to pack up the leftovers (lots wasn’t finished as we were no longer as hungry after the long wait). Then we just waited until I asked for the bill of which then I was asked if we wanted dessert. At this point I was so disappointed for my mother (not being able to do the birthday thing as you do at the end) as she just wanted to leave.
I’m going to take a break from going back. I’m hoping this was a glitch that night but I wished it didn't happen when I was bringing my mother and family to check this out :( just disappointed...
Went here for a birthday and the food tasted incredible!! Wasn't too spicy. A couple dishes were spicy but manageable. Portions are small but very tasty with lots of sauce. Prices are a bit high so to me it's not a place you can frequent often. It adds up very fast. In general Will definitely come back again!!!
Lovely spot. Fun, hip, vibrant and clean. Gorgeous space. Food was good. Fig pizza and fish samosas were divine. Curries were tasty but on the bland side and far too cold for my tastes. I like my food hot! Raita was inedible...very strange taste. Would definitely eat here again on account of amazing ambiance.
The menu alternated between traditional and avant-garde, but did not find the later choices to hold up to its potential. Great energy and had a great time, but for traditional fare, the only standout, and what I would order next time, was the Chicken Biryani. Overpriced so definitely a special occasion type of meal, but was great for a drink.
Such a great restaurant! We went with six friends and had an amazing dinner. Rather than ordering off the menu we just asked them to bring us the chef selections for the evening — everything was delicious! This will definitely be on our favourite restaurants list in the city! A fun cocktail list too!
Small, cozy restaurant with colourful decor and warm ambiance. Fully accessible to wheelchair users. Delicious food (try the indian spring rolls and the naan pizza with figs, paneer and basil). Went on Wednesday night for their ladies' night (eat for free with purchase of bottle of wine). Great service. Will definitely go back.
Went there for the naan pizzas (which are delicious!) and was surprised by the great cocktails and friendly staff. The curries and other, more "classic", Indian-style menu items are OK, but not particularly memorable. Good spot to treat yourself with a fun dinner out, no occasion needed. Be ready to share plates. Definitely make a reservation as it's not a big place and it's often full!
A nice, small local restaurant - a bit noisy, but it was Saturday night. Our server made the evening - she was fun, knowledgeable and made good suggestions. Spring rolls excellent, onion bahji over battered and over cooked, eggplant and tomato heavy and tasteless, curried goat and butter chicken got rave reviews from those who ordered them.
Great neighbourhood Indian/fusion restaurant. Excellent food. Atmosphere on upper level is much better....because the basement, although well-renovated, is a basement. The washrooms are at this level. The music was too loud in the lower level. Our waiter turned it down at our request but someone else kept turning up the volume. Service was attentive. We were a group and had an excellent time.
Not sure what all the hype is about. We had a friend in town and were excited to try a new restaurant. Everything was extremely bland - I thought this was an Indian restaurant? Drinks were underwhelming and 85% ice. The decor is tacky (although the ceiling is cool). There is this weird partition with holes in it, great for customers waiting for their tables to stare at you while you enjoy an intimate dinner! And then the bill came! Not only was it extremely overpriced, we had to wait forever to pay the server - by that time we really wanted out of there!
Montreal is a city full of amazing restaurants - don't waste your time on this one!
