Excellent service, food, and ambience. We had a get together that included a close, longtime friend and our respective families. The person who took care of us all night was great. He understood that we were having fun talking and wasn’t intrusive at all, but we never felt neglected either. The food was delicious! I had veggie samosas and chicken tikka masala. Both were delicious. I would definitely come back here!

Very good Indian buffet lunch - plenty of choices, tasty (good quality) food, reasonable price for a sit-down downtown lunch. Very vegetarian-friendly. Good service - polite and attentive, but not TOO attentive. I'd go again for sure.

First let me say we've been eating Indian cuisine for many year's, I was raised with Indian friend's so it's been 35 years for me. We were traveling, but like having a variety so we selected 4 dishes that were all very delicious.
Bhindi Masala, Dahl makini, chicken tika Masala, paneer, with peas and the cheese roti. Please forgive my spelling, I should know this by now. Excellent food and quality owership, I highly recommend

Very chill attitude until you get your piping hot food which is excellent. Had the chicken tikka, don't be afraid to ask for mild. Garlic naan was great. Go for water. Nice decor and service was perfect.

On a sweltering evening in July, we thought Indian cuisine would be the right fit.

Appetizer sampler was VERY GOOD. Companion enjoyed the Chicken Tikka Masala. I overplayed my hand on the Lamb Vinderloo. It was good, but likely more spicy than I had anticipated. Asked for additional rice and was graciously accommodated.

Solid.

I was hesitant to go to Rasoi after reading some reviews. However, it was one of the best decisions I made in DC! The food was fantastic. We ordered the 3 course meal and mango lassi drinks, and the spice level and taste were just incredible. The wait staff (maybe the owner?) was kind and patient for us to order. The restaurant was quiet and I did not feel rushed to eat or leave (a huge bonus!). It was a clean place and had a welcoming atmosphere. The pricing was quite reasonable for the amount of food that we received. I would recommend Rasoi to visitors or locals in DC looking for good indian cuisine.

In all honesty, we picked Rasoi because it was offering 1000 points, but we left satisfied with our points AND our meals. The food is quite tasty, and I think we will likely be going again. The restaurant has some cute Indian decorations but overall is not fancy, and there were not many people in the restaurant on a Sunday night (perfect for a quiet conversation), but based on the location, I imagine Rasoi gets a pretty good work-lunch crowd. If you are in the neighborhood and like Indian, it was good.

We arrived on 4th of July for dinner and were told by the hostess that we have to eat out of the Buffet items since the kitchen is extremely busy, we went to see the buffet and were surprised by the look of it: Empty platters and food scattered on the table and on the floor, no one was tending to the buffet and we had to take our leave

Was there for dinner Saturday, pre-Improv Comedy. They had great a la carte Indian -- full menu. Ok wine list, and they have off- list options too. Not as over the top as other Indian spots nearby -- but thats a good thing !!
Wine guy was very knowledgeable and patient with lots of questions from Cali winos in the group

As visitors to D.C. we were hoping to find a nice local place to sit down and have dinner before going to a lounge later, this place caught our interest. I ordered the Murgh Mirkana and my sister ordered Murgh Tikka Masala and we had two orders of garlic naan and I can honestly say this is the best Indian food I've had in my life. We eat Indian food regularly and are always happy to try a new place but this one takes the cake. The owner was kind and very attentive and the food was amazing and piping hot--would gladly return any day!

The green chilli chicken was especially good, the rest of the food was good to very good. The service wasn't that great - they brought the check before we were done and seemed to be in a hurry to get us out of there (it wasn't close to closing time).

Rasoi was a very decent Indian restaurant. The waiters were friendly and the service was very good. There were many dishes to choose from both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. Some of the food was quite oily but in general very good tasting

I have been eating at Rasoi (and earlier at its former sister restaurant, Mehek) for several years. It is authentic Indian cuisine and one of the top two or three Indian restaurants in the DC Metropolitan area (Tom Sietsema to the contrary, the best Indian restaurant is Tandoori Nights and there are several, including Rasoi and Gaithersburg's India Palace that are better than Rasika). The service is good, the owners friendly and helpful. I write as someone who has lived in India for over a quarter century and has more than a passing familiarity with Indian cuisine. I would very much recommend Rasoi's vegetarian thali with salted lassi.

I finally had an opportunity to visit this restaurant when a friend from out of town came in for work. I had heard positive things, but we were very disappointed. We came in for the Sunday brunch. The meal was not worth $15. The selection was poor. Mostly vegetable dishes with a decent, but monotonous flavor profile. There were two chicken dishes, again, not very distinctive or memorable. There was one fish dish swimming in oil. There are so many other Indian places in the DMV area that serve superior food at a much lower price point that I would gladly drive miles to see. This place just happened to be in downtown D.C. I am not enticed to return to this place again.

We went on federal holiday so they didn't serve buffet and that's what we went for. The thalis for seafood was ok. the goanese shrimp didn't taste anything like goanese. the other thali for meat had 2 meat items and one was hot and spicy even though we asked them to make it mild. the samosas were very good and so was the dessert.
