Just the right amount of spice to the tandoori. The service was efficient for lunch. The tables are well spaced for conversation.

This restaurant never ceases to produce splendid food in the most authentic manner. As I frequently order the same dishes I do not have the opportunity to sample so many of their wonderful offerings. I will make an effort to do that. I have no negative comments. Go to the restaurant; go hungry and go often!

For two at lunch, we shared the spinach with potato dumpling and the Goan fish. Both were spicy, but the fire didn't dominate the other spices. It was sophisticated food, but not overly so.

Food is good, but except for some (very few) ingredients and the names on the menu, there's nothing Indian in this restaurant (not to mention that spiciness is practically inexistent).
A lot of the chic atmosphere is given by the price range and location. Very good restaurant to woo a first date, but not recommended for those looking for fine Indian cuisine.
Outstanding service and interesting proposed wine pairing!

The food was excellent. The service good during a very busy evening. However, the noise level significantly affected the ability of those around the table to hear each other.

Mostly good but a mixed bag. The black cod was amazing but the eggplant appetizer was a mess. Nice venue. We seeemed to have 2 waiters - one of whom was great and the other not so much. Will return for sure but was expecting more from prior visits.

I was disappointed with the service, which was so below what I have come to expect from Rasika that it really dampened the evening. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and I had counted on great service. A few empty wine glasses, an empty rice bowl, and a missing waiter later - which impeded us from enjoying our meal because we needed the rice to eat our main dishes - we just couldn't wait to get out of there. We even skipped dessert. Still a great place, and I'm sure I'll be back, but didn't have a great evening.

Always a winner!
Here I am again with my 5th review (or more).
Cannot say enough about how "fabulous" this restaurant really is -- the quotation marks are for my fabulous server "Bo" :)

You MUST try it - you will never be disappointed...

I always enjoy the food and ambiance of the West End location. I enjoyed it a little less because of our server. She was curt and put us in a position of trying not irritate her any further. What typically is a lovely experience was stressful and annoying. I will return to Rasika, but avoid the unpleasant server.

We have eaten there several times and have always been well pleased. The service is good and the food is excellent. It's fairly popular so you have to reserve your table 2 weeks in advance for weekends. This time I was late calling so we ate at 5:30 and went to the national christmas tree for a look. Very nice evening. Thanks.

I have enjoyed the restaurant over the past few years. In fact, I hosted an office party a few years ago at this establishment. I felt that the food was bland this time. There was no distinct flavor with any of the appetizers or main courses that were served. This was very surprising and disappointing as we have enjoyed our previous visits. I really did not feel that it was worth the money and have no plans to return anytime soon. I will note that the service was very good.

We had the vegetarian tasting menu paired with wines and it was a lot of fun. The food was good, there was plenty to eat and it paired well with the chosen wines. Our waiter was great and helped make it a special meal.

My friends and I ( four of us) have had a tradition of celebrating our birthdays with lunch at Rasika West End for a while now. This time too, the waitress who saw the giving of gifts brought us a free scoop of cardamom ice cream with a candle and some gulab jamun. What a lovely gesture! But true to type, we also had dessert. :)

This evening with friends was a wonderful outing. The food was exceptional and had much innovation but was recognizably South Asian. The service was outstanding (and we were demanding) and very fun as well. Questions like what was that tiny black speck? were fun to find answer (nigella seed). For those who know Indian food the creativity was so much fun and produced wonderful results. A great experience.

This was our first time at Rasika West End. We had heard good things about the restaurant from several people who live in the area, but we were disappointed. We had expected bright tastes, but with the exception of one dish (the garlic fish), the tastes were unremarkable.

dined twice at the D street location before and thoroughly enjoyed food, service and ambience..this time at west end was rather disappointing. appetizers were great but entrees nothing special. decor so so and the restaurant seemed to have the AC set to arctic to match the temperature outside. service somewhat harried.

The ambiance was very good, food very tasty and unique. But the poor service made everything else look dull. We wait for a Sever to arrive to our table, it took him about 10 minutes, then there were times that we needed his assistance but it was no where to find him. Food was very tasty and well presented but not worth the price. Not coming back, perhaps I go back Rasika on D street I had a better experience last time I was there.

I believe this was our forth or fifth occasion dining here (only one of those was NOT at the West End location) and we’ve never had a bad experience. The food and service have been outstanding across the board. If I had to make a complaint it might be that I found the lighting a bit dim on this occasion. Admittedly, this “complaint” might have more to do with my advancing age, than any fault at the restaurant. You’ll not go wrong selecting Rasika for your next dining experience.

I mentioned that I had made the reservation for an anniversary in the reservation on OpenTable, and our server was so kind, he brought us each champagne and a dessert to celebrate our anniversary, which was so nice and completely unexpected - it made the night feel It is also just extra nice as a lesbian couple to feel so welcomed in a restaurant, and I'll definitely come back for special occasions in the future. I feel bad that I forgot our server's name - I think it started with an S - he was fantastic!!

I have been eating at Rasika West End since it opened. For me it is the best restaurant in Washington: outstanding and inventive food; excellent service and a lovely decor (which is why I prefer it to Rasika downtown which is smaller, darker and noisier though the food is the same). The manager, Atul, is extremely attentive and efficient. The staff cares about clients: I would particularly like to single out Bo and Oxana, my favorites. The food by Vikram Sundaram is out of this world. My only complaint: they took my favorite cocktail, called "Divya", off the menu -- so I will strat a campaign to restore it to its right place; it goes perfectl;y with this Indian cuisine.
