What Insiders Are Saying
Like it’s Penn Quarter counterpart, Rasika West End serves some of the best upscale Indian food in the city.
We enjoyed a wonderful lunch. The decor was beautiful and the food was absolutely delicious. The service was attentive and professional and the presentation and plating of each dish was beautiful. Rasika is consistently excellent every time we go there. A memorable and fantastic dining experience!
While their food remains excellent, their customer service has declined recently. It took them three tries to present us with the correct bill, and they may no apologies for their mistakes. Additionally, the servers were intrusive into our personal space, at several points places their hands on the back of my chair and leaning in from behind me, which was creepy and uncomfortable.
The service is attentive and fast, ambiance is great, and the food mostly delicious. It is very noisy however. and difficult to have a good conversation. Nevertheless I recommend this restaurant for most occasions.
Great. Tag team wait staff never left us hanging. Good recommendations
Great food, great service, and consistency over multiple visits.
Outstanding as usual
We were visiting DC from NYC to see clients. Our clients picked the restaurant and it was outstanding! Great food, great service, great recommendations. Really nice window seat with lots of natural light at lunch time was nice too!
The black cod is what keeps me coming back. It’s probably the best fish I’ve ever had. The service is always first rate. The restaurant has a great vibe, not as formal as The original Rasika
Each time I’m in DC on business I have to include Rasika in my dining experiences. Wonderful Indian cuisine in a cost environment.
This Indian food restaurant is the best I have ever been to. Absolutely delicious!
Went here for my mom’s birthday and the food was amazing. Everything had it’s own flavor and nothing was similar(a lot of Indian Restaurants end up using the same spice for every dish). Our waitress was really nice, got my mom a little free desert too. We tired the sea bass, cauliflower bezule, Palak chat, mango shrimp for appetizer and chicken tikka masala, fish tandoor, and chicken Biryani for the main course. Everything was equally tasty, the food portion is very small but it’s filling. Will be back here soon!
Great food, very attentive staff, great atmosphere!
Black cod was amazing
Very nice Indian restaurant. A bit pricy, but the food is excellent.
Since I found the food a bit heavy, I recommend lunch visits to this restauarant for more senior people.
Great as usual. Have the deep- fried spinach. Pre- theater menu is good deal. Some dishes are very highly spicy.
I took my friend to Rasika West for her birthday--food and service were both pleasant and enjoyable.
Strongly recommend this restaurant--the fifth time I've been there, and it Never disappoints!!
Fantastic as always
Came in for a Sunday birthday brunch that coincided with Restaurant Week. My friend and I were completely blown away by everything we ordered. Appetizers, entrees, desserts, drinks -- all of it was just WOW. Get the crispy spinach. It's everything they say it is.
Excellent food, service. One of my favorites . Planning to go back soon
We went for restaurant week brunch.
So delicious and fun! The service was great as well. Will definitely be back.
Our absolute favorite restaurant. Always a wonderful experience. Can’t wait to go back!
Absolutely amazing. The tandoori lamb chops are outrageous. Love the Fish Chili Garlic appetizer also, so flavorful. The staff, including Victor and Atul are just top of the line and so welcoming and friendly.
Always excellent service and food. A great restaurant that is consistent in all areas.
Our table of 4 got the tasting menu and wine pairing. Fantastic experience; everyone at our table raved about the taste of the food; service was excellent. The tasting menu is reasonably priced for all the food served.
We loved everything about Rasika. The ambiance was very pleasant --attractive and moderately quiet as well. Our Waitress recommended the crispy spinach appetizer and it was out of this world. Tikka Masala also delicious and we had a bread basket of different types of Naan. Would definitely recommend
The appetizers were great! Best Naan and mint chutney, best fish on banana leaf, but the entree chickens (tikka and chicken cashew coconut) were undercooked. Chicken tikka pieces were subpar.
The Restaurant Week lunch menu had excellent choices. For the appetizers, besides the Palak chaat, the scallops with the moilee sauce had scallops cooked just right. The cod with it’s sauce in the entrees was delicious. You can never go wrong with any dish at both the Rasika restaurants.
Rasika did not disappoint. A friend and I lunched at the West End location during Restaurant Week. The food was phenomenal. We each tried a new dessert, and would have again. The sea bass appetizer was absolutely delicious. Overall, it was great value for a stupendous meal.
As good and creative as its reputation. Even if Indian food is not your cup of tea, you will enjoy your meal here. Creative and delicious.
We had a perfect lunch. Service was excellent and the food Devine.
I was so shocked I got a reservation at the last minute on restaurant week and as usual Rasika did not disappoint! Thank you so much...
Rose and date ice-cream is amazing and so unique! The palak chaat was not the typical ones you find it any restaurant! Must try!
The food was nicely presented. The dishes and sauces I tested were a little bit in the salty side but delicious. The scallops were magnificent. Tested two “spicy” sauces that were not spiced at all but were salty. The service was impeccable and cordial. I will recommend this restaurant to my friends and will go back hoping to taste more dishes, expecting to be less salty.
As good as its reputation
I went for restaurant week for lunch and it was absolutely delightful. I still have a smile thinking about the Fried Spinach appetizer. I will definitely be back. Also, you have a great bartender!
Food is great. It was restaurant week, so much busier than usual, and it’s usually busy. As a result, service wasn’t as attentive as usual, felt a bit like they were rushing to get as many people fed as possible. Nonetheless, the food was as delicious as ever. Definitely worth eating there. And if you haven’t tried it, restaurant week is a good time to go, esp with a group as you can try a variety of their wonderful options.
No accommodations for children, no high chairs not child friendly
I have been looking forward to the opportunity to have a meal at Rasika West for a long time now, since they opened. I was very disappointed. The food was mediocre, maybe even less than mediocre. The appetizers were good, the fried spinach was fantastic. But the entrees were not even good, they basically had no flavor, no depth of flavors like I think Indian food should. The fish curry was just fish in a light tomato broth. The salmon tandoori was uninteresting and overcooked, and the chicken tikka was bland. All in all a very disappointing eating experience.
Always great food and impeccable service. Highly recommended!
