Generally, lamb is not one of my favorites but their lamb is definitely delicious! For those who crave for spicy, request for their special hot sauce- it tastes great on anything. Their chicken tikka masala is tangy and is perfectly paired with naan. The place is really busy, considering we went on a Wednesday, but the waiter tries to keep up. The long wait is definitely worth it- we had to put our reservations in 2 months prior to the occasion. Best Indian restaurant I’ve been to- Indians would attest to that! We would definitely be back!!!

Excellent experience! We heard great recommendations and it definitely lived up to expectations. We had the pre-theater menu with the sev puri and palaak chaat appetizers and a vegetarian thali-style entree. The famous palaak chaat was a must-eat dish! The service was great, there were plenty of vegetarian dishes, and the ambiance was lovely. Can’t recommend this highly enough!

A group of four girlfriends had been wanting to go to Rasika (Penn Quarter) for a dinner outing. We were able to make a reservation for Monday, MLK Holiday weekend Monday (January 15th). We had a relaxing, lovely evening together. Our waiter, Joseph, was most helpful with the dishes we inquired about.

We will definitely go back, and also now want to try the West End location for their brunch.

Rasika's remarkably flavorful and creative dishes offer enormous variety and consist excellence. The service is friendly and un-rushed and the atmosphere is pleasant. We've been coming for many years and never seen a table empty for longer than it takes to re-set but somehow the noise level remains restrained allowing for normal conversation. Rasika provides one of the most dependably enjoyable dining experiences in the Washington area.

Friends from out of town often want something unique to Washington. A member of this group works as hard as she can to maintain a vegetarian diet in a world of steak eaters (including her family) so I was really quite happy to secure scarce reservations to this amazing restaurant. Compounded by the other visitor who is very allergic to raw onion/scallions. The staff was incredibly helpful in guiding us through the menu and the waitress was diligent in ensuring that no raw onions surfaced on anything we ate; she helped identify the items which normally had no onions and helped ensure the items which came that way were not garnished with them. She was amazing. Speaking of amazing, the food was flavorful, artfully arranged, and enticing. Thank you Rasika for showing my friends one reason why I love living (and eating) in DC.

This place always does it well! There were so many fine choices that, when our waiter came, we were unsure. He recommended, explained how dishes were prepared, advised on the spice/heat levels, made suggestions for our consideration and was generally helpful and patient. Every dish was excellent, cocktails and wine were ‘spot on’ and dessert and coffee made the perfect finish! We will be back again soon!

I’m so happy I could finally experience Rasika. The experience was very nice. Order paalat chat for an appetizer. It’s so worth it. The service was great the as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Wonderful meal, as always. Service was just right--not intrusive but always available. I asked for a "quiet" table and ours was moderately quiet. Next time I will try and specify a table closer to the door in the secluded niche area.

Food is very good and diverse. This is especially good restaurant for vegans and has many good options. Most dishes are very spicy so be careful on what you order if you don't love spicy food.

likely there is no need to write a review - as you must know , Rasika is excellent in all regards. They even got the acoustics under control - a rare accomplishment. We love it that the Indian food is not overcooked. subtle spicing, awesome fish - well poured drinks - etc.
thank you - we will be back.

We went back to Rasika for my birthday and it was a bit spotty. The place chat is always great but was a bit greasy this time. The lobster entree was phenomenal and shall be fondly remembered as cloud curry. Worth the splurge. The veg curries were kind of tepid in flavor and had a grayish, sickly appearance. Flavors were just not great. Service was very good, if a little cloying. Overall a lovely night and nice meal.

Rasika exceeded expectations all around. It is the finest Indian restaurant we have been to, and the flavors and inspiration of the cooking was first rate. We had the crispy spinach appetizer, bread basket, daal, lamb chops and black cod. All were outstanding, and I wish New York had Indian restaurants of this quality.

We went to Rasika just after the New Year's and I think everyone was tired and not engaged. The portions were very modest. And because they were pushing the seafood, that's what I was served, despite my order. There are too many other good choices to try this place again.

We were disappointed in our first visit to Raisika on New Year’s Eve 2017. We had dined earlier at Raisika West and enjoyed the food very much. But at Raisika we were not impressed with the decor and the food was decidedly mediocre throughout all four courses. The waiter talked endlessly about ingredients that we weren’t particularly interested in.

We had heard that Raisika was one of the citiy’s top restaurants, but it certainly wasn’t on New Year’s Eve. Moreover, the four-course tasting menu cost $85 rather than the usual $59.

I have been here a few time and generally get the Chef's Table menu when bringing other diners. The food did not disappoint; however, the service was abysmal. It took 20 minutes to be acknowledged. We order champagne cocktails and the stems were all sticky. Clearly the bar staff was over committed as well. Each course was abruptly laid on our table with a speedy, indecipherable description, and as the waiter was walking away. Rasika is better than this. I was shocked and so disappointed because it was a very special occasion for our daughter's 21st birthday.

They were slammed for the holiday, but the delay wasn't too long and they offered us a lovely appetizer to make up for it. Food great as usual.

One hint: if you want the set tasting menu, they stop serving it at 2pm. So go earlier if that's your wish.

We always enjoy Rasika. The waiter brought two of the crispy spinach side dishes within 5 minutes of ordering our lunch, which we devoured immediately. I don’t think I will ever tire of eating that tasty dish. The grouper coconut curry was hot and spicey, perfect for a cold December afternoon. My friend had chicken Marsala which was a darker spicey sauce. But who could eat all that food? My husband loved the leftovers at dinner that night!
