Love this little place. Will return. Would try something other than the pastrami/ corned beef sandwich next time.
Server was very nice and accommodating however, the food was extremely mediocre, order was missing something, half the sandwich was inedible because the crust/bread was so hard, martini wasn’t cold, they were out of half the menu, featured entree specials were 30+ dollars.
We found this restaurant through Open Table the Saturday of Valentine's weekend and are so glad that we did! What a great evening...the service was outstanding in this cozy place and the food was very good. The entrée offerings were somewhat limited and although I was a bit disappointed when our waiter informed me that they just ran out of the one that I wanted, I was pleased with my second choice. My husband enjoyed his entrée and especially the Old Fashioned drink that he ordered which had a very different smoked whiskey flavor! Overall we really enjoyed this spot and we are looking forward to returning in the near future for brunch and possibly another stop for drinks with appetizers.
Received a call to confirm reservation which was great. But never advertised or communicated there would be a special menu for the evening and regular menu was not available. Upon arrival was greeted and brought to reserved table making the experience end there. The band started playing and was loud. The special menu was limited with shellfish and nut allergy very difficult to choose, than after choosing being told they ran out of items. Server was not educated on dishes or able to accommodate do to, as explained ‘we are too busy’. Overall experience was poor! In final, actually had an allergic reaction and spent my Valentines night receiving medication do to what appears to be a cross contamination or ingredients not disclosed.
I took my wife here for Valentine’s Day and it was an amazing experience. The place was decorated and there was a light jazz trio playing live. The service was on point and the chefs entrees were outstanding. Highly recommended.
We were from out of town and went in to have brunch. I am hoping that there was some kind of un-forseen problem like the cooks did not show up and the front of house staff had to cook. Our food was not good at all. Pancakes were super dense and raw in the middle, the eggs for the avocado toast were ordered firm, they came out runny, sent back to cook more and we were asked if we wanted our poached eggs fried. The omelette had a large amount of garlic (slightly raw) and balsamic drizzled neither of which was in the menu description. We had several service issues and again, I am hoping that it was due to the server/bartender having to do things in the kitchen. We were told that the biscuits would not be ready until 10:30 - we got sat at 10:00 then over heard the other table being told that it actually would be more time, they they needed to rise. We would certainly give it another try in hopes that it was an off day. We tried to pay for the food even though we did not eat it and the server said absolutely not, he would not take the money.
Food outstanding! Poutine app shared with our table and enjoyed by all. My salmon was perfectly cooked, moist on the inside and just right on the outside. It was topped with a poached egg , red peppers, and hollandaise sauce. Underneath was a delicious grit cake. Someone ordered the pastrami sandwich and said it was awesome. Service was attentive and informative. Some items a little pricier than typical tavern food.
First time here and will come back. Not a large menu but what they prepare is creative and well done. Service was very good and friendly and on Friday night they had great live entertainment - not overly loud which we appreciated.
Date night with my friends
We loved this restaurant when it first opened. But the quality has seriously gone downhill, judging by our brunch last Sunday.
The waiters were frantic - yelling at us to "sit anywhere" when we came in, even though we had a reservation.
Our omelets were overcooked and less than creative.
And the wait staff and customers were very loud.
We won't be going back anytime soon.
Always great food
They didn’t have any biscuits!
We have been to Rascal's a few times and each time we are impressed. This year we made reservations for New Year's Eve. The special menu for the evening was excellent. We had the Devils on Horseback appetizer, which was a date stuffed with I believe jalapeno and raspberry Aioli along with blue cheese and wrapped in bacon and drizzled with balsamic, they were outstanding. The chicken milanese and toasted Ravioli entree's were fabulous. The portions were well scaled with the price and we left absolutely stuffed and happy. We will be back again! We are looking forward to trying out brunch on Saturday or Sunday!
Very nice atmosphere, we were welcomed at the door. Unfortunately we had a few kids with us, and while they do offer entertainment (board games, etc.) they don't have a dedicated kids menu which was disappointing. The kids did not really enjoy their food, though partly because of their picky palates. The adults thoroughly enjoyed their dinner, including the fried green tomatoes appetizer. Good drinks, we had beer & cocktails and were pleased.
This was a wonderful dining experience all around. Our waiter (Luke) was one of the best I have ever experienced, combining just the right amount of humor, attentiveness and recommendations to our group of 6. His recommendations were spot on and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our appetizers, drinks and dinner. We will return!
Great high end pub food with a twist. Casual relaxed atmosphere. If this place was closer to my home, I’d eat there weekly!
The service and food at Rascals Tavern Greensboro was the finest. They do need more lower tables. They did have live music and it was excelent. It is a small quaint restaurant with a nice atmosphere. I will definitely be going back and will recommend Rascals to friends.
We were looking for a quiet family friendly place and this totally fit the bill. Food was phenomenal and the service was wicked friendly and fast. We will definitely be back. Especially for the Devils on Horseback.
Bartender was amazing! Great biscuits & gravy! Perfect to brunch with friends!
So, I was super excited to go after taking a look at the website and seeing the pics of the menu items that are true to form. The food was outstanding, but that was it.
I went for brunch with my cousin and service for us was horrible. I hate to say it was because we are black, but I have to call it like I see it. We sat and the hostess/bartender took our initial drink order and brought our drinks out to us, although she did not give us menus. And, I guess the actual server got his wires crossed with her because he did introduce himself, and tried to take the initial drink order, but when we said she had taken it, he did not come back.
So, we sat there like 25 minutes watching and being passed by. I finally stopped the hostess/bartender and asked for menus. We got them and then had to have side discussions about who was going to assist us for another 20 minutes. A chef walked by and stopped to get our order, she must have overheard us talking. We were continued to be ignored and overlooked, so no, I will not go back and I will not tell anyone else to go. The food was great, so it is quite a shame.
Cool spot. Nice vibe. Good drinks. Wish they had a few entree options for dinner during the week days other than salads and sandwiches, but overall worth adding to the rotation.
We were so impressed by the quality and originality of the food we selected. The chef talked with us personally and we thought she was very engaging and dedicated to making her customers happy. Come on Greensboro, come out and support this great little restaurant.
This place is AWESOME. Great live music playing at dinner and the food was amazing. The owner/ chef came out and checked in with us a few times. We will definitely be back
The restaurant is a cute place in a great location. It’s not very big, but with a reservation you are able to be seated right away.
My friend ordered coffee that wasn’t super hot when it came out. The packet of Splenda that was provided looked like it had gotten wet and had hardened. We had to ask for more packets of Splenda.
There were multiple people waiting on us, but they didn’t communicate with one another. One person would ask if we were ready to order then another person would show up 2 minutes later. I don’t mind having multiple people waiting on us, but communication is a good thing.
When we got our food the first time, it came out cold. The cheese was congealed on top of the eggs and the eggs were cold. The chef did apologize and remade our food for us. It came out hot the second time and tasted good. They did give us 25% off our meal to apologize for the food being cold.
The mimosas were apparently bottomless. I didn’t know that until my drink was empty for 10 minutes. We were never presented a drink menu or told about the bottomless mimosas.
Overall, I wasn’t super impressed. I’m not sure I will go back.
Limited entrees, food ok, music too loud
This is a hidden gem in Greensboro! The food, the atmosphere and the live entertainment were all above expectations the first time we visited and continue to exceed every time we enjoy the opportunity to gather here for dinner and drinks! Would recommend to everyone!
Excellent food from salad through entree’s. Excellent presentation as well ver relaxed atmosphere.
I love this place. It's small so be sure to get a reservation on weekends. It's like a neighborhood bar. Kind of like Cheers - but with an amazing menu. Everything I have ever had there is delicious from hamburgers to pasta with a cream sauce and shrimp and mushrooms. One of my dining companions has a meal size wedge salad. The service is exceptional.
The food was very good, but limited. After previewing the menu to make sure they had items that would appeal to each of our party, I planned on ordering a specific appetizer. They did not have it available which was very disappointing. They also have limited cocktail options. Two of the three drinks I normally get from other restaurants were not available. Their menu also states: " Daily Vegan and vegetarian options available," but we were not informed of any. The fried avocado was delicious and the decor is beautiful. I know there is a limited menu for a reason so they really should make sure everything on the menu is available and possibly expand their drink options.
Everything was great as always.
Loved everything about Rascals . The music was great Thursday . But it was a little too loud for the size of the room. Found it hard to talk at times . He was great entertainment . Suggestion . Live music more than just Thursdays . Really like your half price wine on Thursday , and food specials during the week. We will be back often !!! Thanks
The establishment and the staff were great. We came in after the one year anniversary and many items were not available. We understand that and are willing to come back for the food.
I brought my friends to support a small female business owner and her family for their 1 year anniversary of the Resturant being opened! We love the food. Really like the owner and her beautiful sweet mother...don’t think they were prepared to be busy...even though they advertised it through Facebook and we made reservations ahead of time. Needless and so so sad to say service was really really slow. Food excellent (had the surf and turf with grits..grits absolutely delicious and I don’t even eat grits!!) 😀😀I was thinking they need a host stand and a hostess somewhere near the door that will stop people from just grabbing a table and can flow people. I Will return however with just my date and not bring friends until I feel
Confident they can handle tables of 4++.
First time eating here and we will be back! The food is fantastic and the chef is amazing! I highly recommend reservations because the dining area is smaller but worth it!!! Great craft cocktails and decent wine list... check this place out!!!
Fabulous: the food was absolutely incredible. definitely a 5 star do over.
We enjoyed our meal. Everything was great.
Chef Jessica's inventive tacos continue to be outstanding. Very good service on an energetic night at Rascals.
Great find in Greensboro. Amazing flavor, wonderful service - will go back!!
Great atmosphere, delicious food and great music.
